Elvis Costello - Wave a White Flag

When I hit the bottle there's no telling what I'll do
'Cause something deep inside me wants to turn you black and blue
I can't resist you, I can't wait
To twist your lovin' arms till you capitulate
Beat me in the kitchen and I'll beat you in the hall
There's nothing I love better than a free-for-all
To take your pretty neck and see which way it bends
And when it's all over we will still be friends

Tiersen - La Boulange.

This music, looped, with occasional flickers to Orff and classic trance, has kept me up and functioning all night.

It is primarily thanks to Tiersen that I am now within reach of getting the third essay since yesterday afternoon completed and sent off before noon today.

If I drop too many marks, or fail to submit any one of the three core essays by noon, then I cannot progress to the second year of my degree. Simply cannot, no room for appeal.

Consequently, worked unceasingly for the last ~30hrs. Pausing once for dinner, and other than that only to top myself up with tea and flapjacks.

Need more tea.

Listening to and watching an alarmingly racist 'documentary' called "Africa Addio".

Impressive though, hugely impressive. Not in a good way, however.

I salute you.

Last time I did something vaguely similar, I was writing about the representation of sleep in art history, which was a fair irony after crawling into sixth form the next day with my eyes sellotaped open. Less was at stake, though, with my (mostly) kind and understanding art teacher. ^^

And the Tiersen is transcendental... as is Tiersen's work in general. Interesting military edge at the end. 'Comptine d'un autre Ete L'apres Midi' (dammit, I want my accents...*reaches for a French keyboard*) from the Amelie soundtrack is one of my favourites from him.

Drawn responses to music are a bit tragic, but I couldn't help it.... I promise I won't sketch all over the guild. mrgreen

I found this a while back - it makes me smile, and the video is fabulous.

Actually, that might go down better than you expect. You've won yourself some fans, and not just me.
