I don't want to sound stupid or anything, but emo is thrown around so ******** often nowadays it becomes one of those words that kind of loses it's meaning and instead becomes an insult... kind of like the people who throw around gay so much that it loses it's meaning and just becomes a general insult.

I myself am not so sure what "emo" is exactly...emotional? We're all emotional rolleyes
Wikipedia says emo is defined as music that has themes such as nostalgia, romantic bitterness, and poetic desperation, as well as rejection. It also goes on to name a number of other themes and stereotypes such as depression, suicide, emotional, introverted, and angst-ridden.

So would I say MCR is "emo"? Yeah, maybe a little.
Do I still love them? Of course, why should I give a s**t what type of music it is? It wouldn't matter if MCR is some kind of country/rock mishmash, I'd still love them, their lyrics are deep and inspiring, romantic and emotional, and so much more. And if you really did love MCR, you'd ignore all the idiots who spit out "gay" and "emo" and just turn your music up louder.

No, not really. the whole Emo thing is overrated. I consider MCR somewhere between Alternative and Rock. Emo is all about death and wanting to end everything. MCR is not all about that.
