Rellik San BruceLee290 well not technically they're not i think. just because tehy've been discovered by the public and are played on the radio along with all the other crap they play, the genre hasnt changed. Define Pop - Popular Music, are my chemical romance currently within the top 20 of any chart, excluding rock and alternative music specific ones? Yes. Also, they are neither emo nor punk. Ergo the only remaining classification option is Pop.
There are many classifications for music
not just the generic one's you're naming
there are many types of rock
many many types of alternative
My Chem can fit into many of these classifications
and I don't know about you
but in the past five years my tastes in music have changed dramatically.
it's the same as the band
if you listen to and play the same type of music for your entire life
you're bound to get bored with the sound
the melodies and contrast become bland
My Chemical Romance changed the sound because they wanted to explore the different sounds and rythm's of rock and alternative.
So why are you giving them s**t about it?
they've done nothing to you
and when they do then you come and talk to me
so now I suggest you get your head out of your a**
and accept other people's opinions besides your own
kay?

So shut up then. They are not amazing, they are not art, they are not arena rock, or jam rock. It doesn't matter about your musical education you've just been blinded by the flurry of hyperbole that surrounds them. You obviously need to study harder because someone has been feeding you a crock of lies if thats what you had been told. They are doing everything that has been done before but much worse. They are a band who's sole cause of popularity relies on style over substance, lets be honest, how have MCR changed the musical landscape, compared to say, Hendrix, Bowie, Beethoven, Dickinson, Waterman and Osbourne? They haven't made any impact at all, the fact is, you can't accept the idea that someone who knows about music, who has met the band and who has listened to them before judging, doesn't like that band. Oh by the way it wasn't a false accusation, when I met the band, Gerard Way pissed me off so much I poured a pint over his head... Thats why he cost me the price of a pint. Oh and anyone else notice that Gerard can't hold a decent note for s**t?
