I took it a few years ago.
Then I quit it, obviously.
It's true Asians, or more Chinese play the piano.
But I want to learn piano again!
I found some sheet music I really want to play, but it takes a long time to to be able to play the notes.
Ah!

 I was forced to play the piano when I was young... then I quit... then I became interested in it, so I started playing again~
..and I love it! heart

alot of asians do play some kind of instrument... almost all my asian friends play the piano... and alot of them are taking up the guitar
I've been playing the piano since I was four and I just started the flute

It bothers me that people assume that all Asians play the piano. However, a lot of Asians do play at some point. Many of my friends from high school played the piano, and when I'd hear them play, I'd feel so jealous. On one hand, they were often "forced" to by their parents, but the cool thing is that they still possess their talent.
They might think nothing of it, but I still wish that I had that talent. Since I'm already in my 20's, the likelihood of me taking lessons from a teacher at this point is slim. It's not something I especially feel like pursuing at this point.

I'VE TRIED TEACHING MYSELF HOW TO PLAY BUT IT WAS TOO HARD CUZ I CANT SIGHT READ VERY WELL YET.....AND IM TRYING TO PLAY THE GUITAR. MY STEPDAD SAID I MIGHT GET LESSONS IF I STARTED TO TAKE AN INTEREST IN PLAYING..... BUT I KIND OF GAVE UP CUZ ITS TOO HARD TO TEACH MYSELF THE BASICS OF IT!! AND I ALSO WANNA LEARN HOW TO PLAY DRUMS CUZ IT JUST LOOKS REALLY COOL!! biggrin
BUT I CAN KIND OF PLAY A XYLOPHONE!!! HEHE

i kinda play the piano, never taken lessons before but my mom teaches some notes and stuff....i can play a few songs but i cant read a music sheet >.<
oh and i play the taiko (japanese drums)

I took lessons for a couple years, but I stopped for a while and now I'm taking lessons again in September. I was disappointed when I found out that playing the piano was another one of the many asian stereotypes out there.

aha...i took one lesson from my cousin and one lesson from my friend...i learned row row row your boat and the happy birthday song...aha...i got bored...i can't even remember how to play anymore...i wanted to pursue the bass and the drums though
