Eh I wouldn't say the Asians at my school are gangsters, they just dress like they are but I have known a few who dealed drugs and stole...
And besides it's not like Asians aren't allowed to be gangsters or anything like it's only a fad for a certain race or something.

asians here in ottawa do seem to act allgangster-ish.but im pretty sure thats just an act. they are pretty nice guys though and follow their own instincts not a leader's. but thy do tend to be mischevious.

I grew up in a small town. It's upper middle class society where I used to live... and for some reason the Asians, mainly Korean Americans males, are into this hip hop/gangster culture. They try to act all ghetto, black, whatever. I don't know WHY and what they're trying to prove by being influenced by another culture. They don't live in a real ghetto--they live in the ideal American family home. These are posers and it's just... sad. I figured it's their way of rebelling against their racist parents. No idea... But where's the creativity?!

Tahimek That is one hasty generalization you have for a thread. I am so not gangster. I never was, and doubtful that I will be. I don't really fit into any category either. I know quite a number of my Filipino friends and young relatives who look gangsta nd may even use Ebonics to their advantage, but IMO it's more like a facade. They're pretty much people who prefer the urban style, but I doubt they'd ever be in a real gang. A barkada is good enough for them.

I don't like it when asians act black....acting gangster in an asian way (hard to describe but seen) is ok with me. But acting black/mexican is kinda weird for me. eek
That makes me kind of a hypocrite though because ppl say I act white....
