I think what tipped my shounenAi/Yaoi "expedition" was when I was in primary school. I forgot how old I was, but I went in the boys bathroom because my friends dared me. I wasn't afraid of anything that couldn't hurt me, after all it was just walking in the bathroom, not like a torture chamber with poisenous gas. Plus, every person would freak out "omgz! She went in the boys bathroom" and I loved the attention, made me feel like I could do anything.
My teacher's son and best friend came recently in the class and started observing us because they wanted to be teachers. When I walked in there I saw them kissing and I just stared, and at first I was stunned like a deer in headlights. I don't even think thay saw me. sweatdrop
I went home later, and told my parents and they said it was "bad" and that I should always love a male, not the same gender. Well, I took that to heart, but when later on in the future I was obsessed with Dragon Ball Z, and my dad usually printed me fanfics from his work, because we didn't have a printer at home. On the top it said "Warning: Yaoi" and I was like "Yaoi?" and I prounounced it like "yahoo".
Well, Gohan and Trunks were well in the "training room" doing things, and I was like "wtf?! but I couldn't tear my eyes from it, and I loved it! I wanted more!"
And ever since then I've gotten more obsessed about it.

Of course my parents don't know though because if I did, they would lecture me and tell my it's a sin, and etc, etc, so i'm pretty much in the closet hiding from my parents that I obsesses over shounenai/yaoi. 3nodding

I originally hated yaoi, with a burning passion. n_n Later I discovered X/1999 and Tokyo Babylon, and slowly became enthrawled with CLAMP's yaoi/shounen ai ways. Later I started reading yaoi fanfiction and have been a fan ever sense. 3nodding

Ugh, I used to hate BL so much. I would see Gundam Wing doujinshi and be all "WTF DUO IS NOT GAY WITH HEERO." lol It's kind of funny once you think about it. Once I saw Gravitation [ick] I got into BL. And then I asked my friends for BL series. . . and eventually I branched off to yaoi. Now I have a yaoi manga collection on my computer. And I bought a yaoi manga. . . I just can't tell my dad yet. o.o; He would FREAK.

I asked my friend what it was one day and then I was like, "COOOOL!" so then I go home and watch Gravitation and I was hooked ever since...

Me? Hmm, lemme think about this for a second.... I think it was about 5th grade. One of my best friends loved it (she was in the 8th grade by then) so I was like "Hmm, sounds interesting."
It took me awhile to actually sink into my head that my friend liked yaoi, so to take my mind off it, I watched Digimon Frontier. It was episode 21 where Takuya & Kouji got into a fight...
And well, ever since then, I was obsessed with it... & Takouji happens to be my 1st (& favourite) shonen-ai pairing

Well, mine is a weird experience...
I was out with Mimi looking for her uni toga for graduation, and she kept telling me about this new series she had and how they kiss in the first episode. She was so excited, but I have short attention span so all I was doing is looking around the place (cuz it was my second time at that uni). In the end she dragged me back to her house and sat me down to watch it. I went " eek OMG, they're both guys.... stare hmm... biggrin MORE!"
So it all started with Mimi's obsession with Gravitation. whee Which she passed onto me, and I passed onto my sister (by accident!!!).
The end! whee *currently sugar high... ish!*

My friend brought a yaoi manga to school (this was also my first time seeing manga) and I picked it up....flipped through the pages, passed a very intimate scene, eyes widened, flipped back, stared, stared some more, still stareing then I said, "These guys are so pretty... Look at his hair... And they're kissing! Can I borrow this?"

First time ever was when I was looking through some DBZ site and found tons of fics with VegitaXGoku and so on...It was actually very weird at first cause i was like in 6th grade and thinking how weird it all was but still continued reading and next thing I knew I was a hardcore yaoi fan xd heart Never felt disgusted or anything like that, always loved yaoi heart

Ha, I was cruising Yuri sites when I first stumbled across Yaoi and it totally freaked me out. XD Now, I don't think I've check out yuri in years. It oddly reminds me of how I used to be into Country and Pop music and now I can only listen to Alt Rock because the other stuff pisses me off. >_> Issues of the fangirl brain. @_@

I first heard about it on the ragnarok irc channel I used to live on. x3; Back then I was all happy and innocent, I thought it was absolutly disgusting. As time went by...I got curious. and curiousity turned into horrid fangirling. Ohdears. ;B
