~His Story~
Icefyre was the first of the kirin breed to appear in Kawani. He awoke from a long slumber in his ice cave, and descended the mountain to find things had changed greatly in the lands. Moving to his secondary cave, full of ancient scrolls and art, he began cataloging all the new species in the area. Knowledge and wit, his great passion in life. There was much he had to learn! Typically when warm weather came around, he would travel back to his ice cave and life there. However, there was much to keep his interest and give him muse to stay awake!
While establishing which subject to start with collecting new knowledge, he ran into a kirin-wind mare, that sought to learn from him. The mare was Zhen-Hui. A bright minded mare, with a star studded coat. She eagerly followed him, and listened to his instruction. For a summer, the two spent much of their time together. The love of learning, inspiring a desire to lay with one another on occasion. Zhen had two colts sired by Ice out of respect, and not love. Using it as part of the lesson, he welcomed a new chapter of life, and the chance to watch life grow. When the seasons changed, the two parted ways. Each taking one of the sons to raise under their wing.
Shijin ended up being not only a great son, but Icefyre's greatest pupil. Anytime Ice challenged Shijin, he met each challenge with a will to learn something new.
When Shijin left to go explore the temples and different spiritual points throughout the land, Ice was on his own again. His familiar, Chilly, wasn't one for conversation, being more of a quiet intellect. Ice felt a bit of an empty nest, and began to consider hibernation. He had accomplished so much! It seemed as good a time as any to sleep for a while.
One snowy winter day, as Ice was heading towards his ice cave, he ran into a young mare, seemingly far out of her element. In that moment, there were two paths that seemed to shape his life. One, to leave her be, and keep heading towards his current path. The other, to find out her purpose for being here, and crossing his path. The chance meeting sparked something new in him. She seemed so different at a glance. Brave, and willing to endure the cold. It showed strength. Ice found out that she had left her family, looking for something more. Always eager to help fill a void with knowledge, Ice snapped up what he thought was an opportunity for a new pupil!
Archangelica ended up being the one to teach Icefyre something! She taught him the value of social skills, cooling ones temper, and that sometimes, saying nothing, is better than something. Her patience extended to the stars and back. The teacher became the student. Intrigued by her beautiful mind, he stayed by her side to learn more about her. When spring came, she taught him things he didn't know about herbs, and medicinal healing. He showed her what he knew about healing, with the power of ice. A cold touch can only heal so much though. Archangelica was warm, and soft. Icefyre found that it was more than just that. She warmed his cold icy heart. All his teachings, the knowledge he had obtained, and a lifetime of wit, waned in comparison to the love of this shining star, titled Archangelica.
The two now live together and roam the lands. They travel to see new sights, and keep an open heart in guiding one another through the path they chose. Experiencing old sights through two sets of eyes, made everything seem new again. As if Ice was seeing it for the first time. He delighted in bringing Angel places she had never gone before. She too, brought him places he had never gone. And together, they found brand new places to go. Traveling became a new way for Ice to learn about the lands, and experiencing them with his love. Always to return to Icefyre's dry cave of parchment and paper, but the distance between each trip home never something of worry or concern. Along the way, they have made a few other homes. After all, home is where the heart is, and his heart would always be in Archangelica. |

~His Story~
Sì Shòu, or also pronounced Shijin, are a part of Chinese Mythology, containing four spiritual creatures. Each is assigned to a direction, with certain attributes, and elements. Two of which, are of import to his father, and the naming of this star-dragon. His father believes that he is gifted with not one, but two of the Shijin. The first, being a white tiger kirin, and the second, a blue dragon. "I am both the east, and the west. I am the spring, and the fall. And too, I am metal, and wood." says Shijin.
Each spiritual animal, is also assigned 7 Lunar Mansions. You may know these as constellations. Shijin values the importance of the stars, but feels that they only have as much power over an individual, as you believe them to have. The heavenly stars watch over all below them, and Shijin appreciates this.
On Earth, Shijin believes that the heavenly stars can manifest themselves in the form of special types of koi, called angel or butterfly koi. This came about after a repeated dream he had, in which a star took shape of a white koi with a long tail, that filled up the sky. He became involved with local shrines, and helping to provide them with fish for their ponds. Each koi he would name, and bless as a gift from the stars, before sending them to their new home.
Being involved with shrines, made him want to do more for the land than what he was currently doing. How would he leave his mark on the world? He began seeking out for a herd in need of someone like himself. Most he came across were very nice, and welcoming. Shijin couldn't figure out what he had to offer them though, and continued his search. In his search, he stumbled across The Flight, a herd of powerful dragons and other breeds. Intrigued by the fearsome and powerful fire dragon leader, it sparked the interest to learn about other dragons. Carefully, he joined the herd, agreeing to teach their young anything he had to offer. Consoling in his father, a great ice dragon, he gathered wit and resources to start his job.
In the process of traveling back and forth, he happened upon a half angeni, with the beauty of the butterfly koi of his yesteryears. At first, he thought himself to be having another dream, and had to blink to regain his mind. The way the sun magically reflected off her orange hair with her patched orange and white coat, had him hypnotized. Like a star fallen to Earth, and born in the form of a Soquili-Koi. Shijin knew in that moment, that he had to know her, no matter the cost. No sacrifice would be too great. The stars had brought him to her.
From there, Shijin began to court Caramia. There was no falling in love. He felt his love for her, was ancient, beyond destiny. Her name, meaning "My Beloved", something he took to heart. Had the romance not been a success, a small part of him would of died without her.
Put between the mare he loved, and the herd he vowed to help, gave him conflicting emotions. Abandoning either, seemingly morally wrong. Shijin finds time for both. Often he is visiting Caramia, spoiling her with gifts, and dates beneath the stars. As part of his duty, he then returns to The Flight, as a teacher of their young. |

~His Story~
Castor is one out of four siblings! He's part angeni, and part suti, with the heart of a dragon. The suit part of him is light. He can make his scales glow, and give off a light aura around his body.
Casor loves finding the beauty in things others would not. A strong dragon's heart, with enough love to share with all. If he meets someone who's sad, he will do anything he can to lift their spirits. Everyone, he see's is gifted with a warm smile.
Accessories are a passion of his! It makes him feel renewed to get pampered, have his hair brushed, and wear a new bobble he bought from the two-leggers. He's fascinated with how different cultures, where different things. Or style their hair different ways.
One thing Castor doesn't like is getting wet! It makes his hair poof out and frizz. His hair is already thick, so once it's wet, it triples in volume. Not something he enjoys. It's quite a sight to see an otherwise happy stallion, sulk and mope when it rains. |
