When the opportunity was presented Shinji didn't hesitate, jumping forward immediately as the claw was brought down on the shield.
Shinji combined two techniques in tandem, using multistrike along side Resu Tame Taibu. The result was a total of four attacks, three of them being solid after images, being sent into the side of the large claw. The attacks were a feint then a switch into a powerful follow up. He put as much as he could muster behind the attack. He repeated this twice over with the time given, total of 8 actual heavy hits going to impact the claw.
To those around him it'd look as though his arms split off into a total of 8 before flying into a flurry of blows.
Shinji wasn't sure if his fists were enough to break the carapace but he'd give it one hell of a good shot.

Chet stumbled a little bit as the tendrils receded back into hell. The crowd of clowns dispersed into their creepy homes. The boy went back to the oddly feminine samurai. And Chet had the answer he desired or so he thought. The demon approached him casually extending his hand for a deal to be made. The drunk twisted some ear wax out of his right ear with his pink while looking at the demon's hand. "******** outta here with that deal with the devil s**t, bruh." Chet laughed. His mind slowly seeing reality for what it was again. The demon's proposition made him furious. He didn't want to play any silly game. From where she stood, without having to go atop anything, it was pretty clear from the village's sky line that there was nothing large enough to contain such fighting.

She can never have more than the written limits at any one time (e.g. access to all eye abilities but cannot use more than two at a time). In addition to learning the required custom and whatever additional requirements that custom might have, Kagerou needs to fulfill certain conditions for a safe swap. Each Sharingan ability or technique swapped must be retrained and adjusted to, a process that takes twenty [20] posts at first for each Sharingan ability/technique, is reduced by two [2] posts every time the Sharingan ability/technique is safely retrained, and can take a minimum of six [6] posts per Sharingan ability/technique. If necessary, Kagerou can perform a riskier, instant swap on the fly without the readjustment period, but these swaps can only last for up to five [5] posts and disables the Sharingan, which needs to recover from the strain, for twice [x2] the number of posts that the swap lasted for. Blind Resolution Personal Attribute [ Xion was born blind, a curse placed upon her for her parents' faults. For that reason, she will never experience sight. No ocular implant can restore her vision and even genjutsu cannot imitate the sensation of sight for her. Elizabeth watched and waited, discreetly making her seals from her cover. When the tentacle got halfway to the boys shield, she would extend her aura just long enough for the tentacle to make contact. It would slow down the tentacle drasticly. The force would be its mass plus its acceleration. Combine this with the decrease in its speed. Well...math is math. After it impacted she would cancel out her aura and spring up towards the side of the boat, throwing a string of explosives not at the tentacle but into the water in the general area of its emergence.
Explosives in the water acted much different than in the air. They condensed the water into essentially concrete. The string of 5 tags on a small bit of wire would be consumed but the splash would mark their detonation. Considering she would pretty much see the shrimp thing, she only had to wait for the effects.

Fang was having a jolly old time, big shrimp attacks. We defend, shrimp attacks again. Shield lady defends. He noticed the other side was limp and unmoving. And shield girl had stopped the attack for now. Fang took the chance and created 3 clones of himself which leaped onto the arm and ran along it towards the monster. Hopefully the girl could hold it in place long enough for the clones to make it across. If they did they would leap up toward the head, two would attack it's eyes with their sharp claws. Unfortunately, doggo was pretty useless at the moment. Being that he was a doton element, but that what happens when you're a doggo and you don't think things through. The last clone attacked the prawns whisker thingy.

The combination of defense, offense, and support on display on the boat was truly astounding, with Elizabeth's slowing of the creature's claw allowing Yuna to block it and set up Shinji's counterattack and the dog's rather vicious assault on some squishy bits. The prawn's claw cracked and started to leak its delicious, prawny claw juices all over the boat and in the water. With both of its claws out of commission and many of its major sensory organs resembling spaghetti, the threat the prawn posed was effectively neutralized, and then it blew up. Or, well, everything around it blew up. It was still (mostly) intact afterward, but it wasn't moving very much, making it easy fodder for the crew's harpoons.
And just like that, the whirlpool started to fade away. After a few minutes of hauling the now thoroughly skewered prawn in, Wata would point out that a large clump of chum was bubbling to the surface, and explained that the shrimps seemed to eat that. It stank to the high heavens, though the crew made sure to get the boat out of there before the smell completely enveloped the ship. They headed farther out to sea for almost half an hour before what looked to be the beach of a foggy island came into view. Wata pointed it out as they turned the ship around, also gesturing at a few ominous looking ripples drifting between them and landmass as if to explain why they were heading back. The return trip would prove uneventful, though for a while it seemed like they were being followed by something underwater. It never reared its ugly head, though, and the worst thing they would note aside from it were a couple of eerie purple lights emanating from deep underwater.
A few hours later, the boat would be pulling back into the docks with the prawn in tow. There wasn't much fanfare given the time of night, but at least it was dry land. Wata and his crew were practically slap happy off of all the excitement and their sleepiness and were loudly congratulating each other and the shinobi who'd helped them on a job well done.

The man who had given Kagerou the note was a simple-minded creature with similarly vacuous clothing. Still, he was at least covered. He looked at Kagerou blankly, blinked a few times, and smacked his lips slowly before answering.
"I dunno," he responded with a shrug. "They just told me to hand out these letters. Some dude was saying something about a seagull or something, and a couple of guys went out on a boat."
How, exactly, those things related to the question was left unanswered, as he gave precisely zero indication that he was going to elaborate further. They were really scraping the bottom of the barrel with these people.

Unki would blink upon the woman's abrupt departure. Her statement stumped her some and had her questioning just what Shiro could've named the point of interest. It was a bit late to bow or thank the woman for her words as all Unki did was stand there and mull over the ambiguous 'this or that' morsel of information.
Whisking back to Shiro's side and beckoning to both he and the hatted entity now temporarily known as, "pain in the a**", and she would speak her half. This was the first she's heard of any sort of new island and it might have something to do with the tid-bit of information passed to her. "The net-lady says that it was messed up of the planners to pit us all around a bunch of boats and then tell us to walk. How do you think this relates to a mystery island?" Her tone was hushed and had to be careful not to pass suspicious glances to the others floating about.

Under normal circumstances, Kagerou would completely disregard the words of a man with such a clueless expression. Well, no, she wasn't that mean. She was too soft-hearted to be that efficient. In actuality, she would only largely disregard the words of a man with such a clueless expression but keep them in the back of her mind in case something in the future coincided with the skeptical information.
However, these were not normal circumstances. Kagerou was late as it was, and after recent events, just the thought of failing to pass even this introductory stage of the exams left a bitter taste in her mouth, one full of regret and doubt. She'd already failed once because of inaction, and while the exams could not compare to what she had experienced before, Kagerou couldn’t help but subconsciously see it as a way to redeem herself. With zero leads, it was only natural for her to convince herself, in a logical but also selective way, that her best option was to take the first lead that was presented to her. The rest of her thinking followed suit, .
After deciding, Kagerou hustled off with a hurried, "Seagulls and boats, got it. Thanks," accompanied by a wave of farewell. Kagerou aimed for the docks. Assuming she wasn't stopped, she would reach her destination and immediately start looking for the next hint or clue that could turn into a lead. Something she was particularly keen on finding was other examinees like her gathering at the docks. She wouldn't mind grouping with them, if they let her, and even if they did, there was just the comfort of knowing others, through their own methods, had also come to this place as part of the exams. Aside from other examinees, Kagerou also kept her eyes peeled for any friendly faces. As in, literally faces that looked friendly and open to conversing with a stranger.

"Four years? Are you sure you'll be fine after not stepping on a boat for four years?" Xion feigned shock and concern. It was rather obvious. If her bad acting didn't give it away, the amused smile she was failing to hide behind a hand certainly did. She held enough self-control to restrain herself from just outright giggling, though.
In all seriousness, the help was welcome. Xion was quick to let the helpful villager know this, speaking up before he could squeeze in a word or action of his own, "Thank you very much, I would appreciate the help of someone who knows this area. Guiding me to the docks and helping me ask the sailors there, alone, would be plenty of help, so… if I may?". A free hand, Xion's left as her right still held on to her cane, extended towards the child she did not yet know the name of. Being blind, holding hands was the easiest way for her to follow another.

Specialist Medical [ The user, choosing to specialize in healing medical techniques, gains a great boost to their chakra control in that area. Blind Resolution Personal Attribute [ Xion was born blind, a curse placed upon her for her parents' faults. For that reason, she will never experience sight. No ocular implant can restore her vision and even genjutsu cannot imitate the sensation of sight for her. Much to Shinji's disappointment they were brought back, away from the misty island he had hoped to get onto. Not without reason of course, the dangerous looking figure beneath the waves was something he couldn't have just asked them to brave. This left himself and many of the shinobi who had tagged along with a bit of an issue. There was still no truth as to whether the exams were being held on that island or not but something was keeping them from it.
Once they were on the docks again Shinji spotted even another shinobi that had headed down that way. He gave her a wave to get her attention, almost gesturing the stranger over before he turned to the rest of the group.
"That was rather annoying. I don't know if any one else has gathered any other clues but the more I hear and see of it that island out there is the closest thing to the exam spot that I can think of. Problem is finding someone who could take us all there that's crazy enough to brave what ever was guarding that island.
I'm not asking for full cooperation out of any of you but we all want to get to the exams right? If we concentrate our efforts and find someone to take us to that island we should have enough people to over power whatever is guarding it and at least take a look."

Well, Kagerou didn't expect to be that lucky. She didn't have to look long before she found a group that also looked like they were participating in the exams. One of them even waved her over. Friendly as well as fellow test comrades. She really couldn't have asked for more.
Her prospects looking much better than before, Kagerou felt a smile creep onto her face. she just realized it had been a while since she last smiled. That last time had been before finding out she had been signed up for the exams without her knowledge, and even that smile hadn't been in the best of conditions. Without caring much for who was looking at her, Kagerou rubbed both of her cheeks in thought, a quick slap to both sides of her face to stay alert, As if to prove herself to her own thoughts, Kagerou gave herself a small laugh.
Hands coming down from her cheeks, Kagerou reached into her projectile pouch to pull out a loop of string that tied two bells together. She slipped the instruments onto her wrists, welcoming the familiar ringing they created. Why she didn't have them on before she couldn't remember, but she had them on now. The ringing of the bells would no doubt attract the attention of the others in the group of ninjas Kagerou now began to approach: the serious-looking fellow who waved her over, the wild child, the quiet-looking girl, the tomboy kid, and the one dude with short hair. If any of them looked over, she'd give a friendly wave and smile.
By the time Kagerou reached the group, she would be just in time to hear something about the exams and cooperating efforts to reach an island. From that alone, she could pretty accurately guess the rest, and if her guess was right, then she wanted in. However, before any of that, it was only polite to introduce herself, right? Hoping that her timing wasn't terribly off, Kagerou interjected with introduction and, bearing in mind the time limit, a few questions regarding the situation, "Hello, I noticed you're also examinees. Do you mind if I join? Kagerou from Kirigakure," she tapped the headband on her left sleeve as proof, "Back-line medic with a couple katon techniques. I've gotten the gist of everything, I think. We need someone and something to take us out near the creature, right? Although… Exactly how far from this island does the creature stand guard? If the distance to the island isn't too great, then it'll be easier to find someone willing if we just need them to get near the island. Then, we can either fight or run for the shore on foot."

It seems there attack was effective, Fang watched from the boat as the clones completed there assault and the shrimp imploded or something. It began to stink and Fang covered his nose. After they continued on and saw the island. There was fog, he focus and smelled the air looking for any other clues that might help them. But it seemed they were turning around as well. And Fang was unable to go further on his own. After smelling what he needed he sat at the back of the ship. Watching the ripple following them and growling quietly at them. He would need to report this back to Kisuke. Once they arrived Fang would bark at the shinobi and fishermen alike in thanks for allowing him to go. At least that's probably what he was saying but since noone spoke doggo they could only guess. He stuck around a little, maybe the fishermen would reward him with a piece of the giant shrimp they caught. Also a new girl seemed to have joined the group. Fang looked at her and tilted his head a couple times. He was still just sitting there though.
