You know what? I think that's a load of ****. Yaoi was created for whoever is interested. It's a product to be sold, and like any other product, nobody gives a rat's arse about who uses it; they just want the cash.

I guess that's true that more girls read yaoi, but i'm sure you can say the same thing about yuri, more guys read it then girls. Probably because if you're strait it'd be weird to read about people of your own gender getting it on ^.^

Well, as a general rule men tend to be more of afraid of anything that can be used to make them "gay." They shy away from it like it was the plague or something. I'm saying this as a general thing, because I do know straight guys out there who are comfortable enough with their sexuality to say and/or do things that might make them look gay... But most men won't do it. They won't hug their male friends, they won't say that they look good, the list goes on. It's only logical that they would run away from yaoi as well.

Women, on the other hand, can give each other hugs, comment on each other's appearance, escort each other to the bathroom, whatever. We're open, we're secure, and I think we're better for it. Most homophobes are male, at least from what I've seen. Personally I think they may just be afraid to discover that they might be homosexual themselves, but who knows why that's such a huge problem... Just a guess, mind you.

Once again, this is a generalization, and there are always acceptions to the rules.

See... yaoi was intended for female readers... but at the end of the day its up to the individual whether or not they choose to like and enjoy it. See, I knw a few males that like yaoi and are not afraid to show it and I give them praise for it... its the same for girls who like yuri too... to be honest, everyone is entitled to their own opinions on such matters, but at the end of the day... IT'S UP TO YOU TO CHOOSE IF OR IF YOU DO NOT LIKE SOMETHING.

I know some twin boys. They like yaoi. It does depend on preference, but to like something you have to know about it first.
What I'm saying is when I was 16 and boy crazy the thought of two girls liking each other never crossed my mind. Then I saw it, then I was grossed out, then I got over it and accepted them. Now we're the best of friends.
Something that I'm trying to stop myself from doing though is being touchphobic. I dont know why. I hate anyone touching me. (hugs self and rocks back and forth)

Sorry if that doesn't pertain to the conversation. It's just that maybe some people would like it if they were exposed and found out it wasn't the horrible thing they thought it was.
