I swapped numbers with two or three of you, my sim-card was recently wiped by a little gizmo designed to copy and save all my numbers.

Please could you PM me with your respective numbers, or text me with your name and username? Either works!

As you can imagine, up a bit of a brown creek at the moment, and lacking a shovel.

And the car is a step closer to moving!

The clutch is still resolutely seized-up, but the engine is now firing on all cylinders and will start without the customary five minute preheat.

Ohyes, progress!

Yesterday, having finally unseized the clutch, I drove through the village and up onto Salisbury Plain. I can now report that my car can do 40mph on a dirt road. Indeed, it cannot do more than about 54mph on any road. neutral

Alas, I still have to work out how to repair the cherished air-horns, as well as the front wipers and the rear window water spray.

Mull of Kintyre, Sanda Island, Ulva and Gometra, Tamworth Castle, Spurn/Spurn Head.

Those are just for my later reference.

I've a question though; there's a black hole in my map of pinned locations. It's almost a black square.

Carlisle, Newcastle, Preston and York.

I can't think of anything to visit within that square.

Is anyone able to help?

You don't mean Spurn Point, do you? On the Holderness coastline?

Yes, that's the thing. We looked at it during GCSE Geography, thought I'd go and have a look before the silly thing before it gets washed away.

It occurs that I never mentioned that Bristol is the home of the British Empire & Commonwealth Museum. That might interest you, methinks smile

Here's the website:

Good luck with your trip. Drop me a line when you're near the area and we can meet up if you like - though if you've lived round here I doubt you need a native, or rather, naturalised, guide smile

Ohoho, that was already on the list. Kate agreed to it on the grounds that I go and see some house somewhere. something to do with Jane Eyre, or something. *shrug*

An, I only lived in Bristol for six years or so. Shirehampton. I'll keep in touch though, certainly. A guide is always appreciated, it'll be good meeting as many GBG folk as possible.

Just got back from having driven my car up to the MOT test place and I'm still feeling a bit unsteady on my feet. That car is quite possibly the most unnerving chunk of metal since the Hiroshima bomb.

Oddly, the speedometer fell to zero a few minutes into the journey and didn't move since. I'm hoping they won't notice..

Oh-kay, it's apparently now only a few days from being MOTworthy.

And about time too..

Hallo, you. It's been a while.

So then, when will you be leaving then?

Indeed, it's been too long. AIM still won't resurrect itself.

We'll be leaving in about a month, which reminds me. I've been neglecting the map a bit, it's on Kate's wall and I've got most of the locations pinned on the route, but not all.

Ha, coming so soon? The date with Invi draws nearer! xd
