The titles I can remember....

Anything by Poppy Z.Brite Basically

Includes: Vampires, hackers, mystic creatures, roadtrips, ghosts

WARNING: HORROR, BLOODY, GRUESOME, INCEST, NECROPHELIASM

however, they are really good books, and I'd recommend them to anyone, as long as you have the stomach for them. Don't expect happy endings though. But they aren't unhappy for the sake of being cruel, trust me. these are at the top of my favorites list

The Page Turner
I don't remember who it was by.. but... it's about a man who wanted to become a pianist, but wasn't good enough. He did the page turning for a famous pianist and ends up mystified and attracted to this man that baically shows him the harsh realities of life... love triangle goodness!

its more of a serious book about life, with a dash of yaoi that adds to the sting of it.

and I think the one I found at my school library was called
Danny stands alone

or something to that effect. It's kind of written at a middle- school level, but I appreciated it, considering it was at my school. It's about a mexican boy trying to fit in, but has more and more trouble with it, until he realizes he's gay. His dad, friends, everyone turns against him. Kind of an eye opener in a way.

suicide attempts, drinking, etc.
kind of overdramatized, but it wasn't a waste of time reading.

Here, Here!! I mean I love Lestat/Loius as much as the next person, but Nicholas/Lestat is SO much better!!

...And here I was expecting to be torn apart by rabid LestatxLouise Fans XD *climbs out from under her shelter* Yeah, they are ^_^ Nicholas is my absolute favorite Anne Rice character (yes, even compared to the famous Lestat XD)

I love Poppy's books. heart Even the ones that aren't Horror.

While Drawing Blood is my favorite, I have to say Andrew Compton from Exquisite Corpse is my favorite of her characters. But then, I've always been interested in serial killers, and Andrew's psyche is...interesting.

Swordspoint, by Ellen Kushner is quite good.

I did not particularly like As Meat Loves Salt -- I nearly put it down -- but it has its good points. My main complaint was that I couldn't stand the main character.

Fox Woman -- I forget who it's by -- has one fun little scene.

If you've read Gregory Maguire's Wicked, try reading the sequel. Son of a Witch has some BL. It's minor, but it's there.

Augusten Burroughs writes mostly nonfiction. He's written a fiction novel as well, but I haven't read it. Running With Scissors doesn't have BL. It involves his relationship with a *****. The book is very good, but it is NOT shonen-ai, and it does not make for comfortable reading.

Dry, however, has plenty. As does Magical Thinking.

If you like femmeslash, I highly recommend Sarah Waters. I've read Fingersmith and Tipping the Velvet, and they were both very, very good.

As a random note, since so any people here seem to be mentionint manga, Kill me Kiss me is a great one. I'm not sure if there are any canon BL pairings but there's a lot of hinted stuff X) hell one of the characters spends the entire first volume thinking he's gay because he thinks he's attracted to a boy in his class (who is actually a girl dressed as a boy... but whatever X3)
