Eris laughed. Not just any laugh, but the loud, maniacal laugh of a villain who knows the hero is nothing but a schmuck. "Fools, you can't stop me. Not this time."
Eris fluttered her wings, lifting up to the air. The grey and purple mist swirled at the ground where she had just been standing. Her red eyes flashed purple for just a moment, and then a surge of energy pulsed from from her body. Once it hit the Erotes and Graces, they disappeared; first Phaenna and Kleta disappeared, and as the rest of the Erotes and Graces advanced towards the enemy, they too disappeared. Any item they may have been holding disappeared with them.
The mist spread out, covering the dance floor, surrounding the feet of all the Pae'il in attendance. The mist started rising, and it was unavoidable as Eris had already sealed any exit point in the ballroom.
She turned to look at Venus. "You should have invited me to your parties." And with a wink to her nemesis, she lifted her arms, commanding the mist to rise higher, completely shrouding the party goers.
When Eris dropped her arms, the mist fell to the ground and disappeared, but it had taken all of the couples with it. She cackled and as if she were wearing a cloak, she swirled it around, bring the grey and purple mist around herself and then disappeared.
All the doors and windows no longer were fogged over, and Pae'il can come and go again as they please.

Fea Line Hoity nodded, though his attention was now quite distracted. He only half listened to her last comment as he glanced back over to the mist woman and then the one they called Venus. "Is...everything ok over there?" he said, turning her back around for another dance step. He was more confused than concerned, but when Venus said not to be alarmed, he attempted to shrug it off. "I suppose I can paay you in dresses. I don't see how the occasional one will hurt. But if my designs aren't getting sold or peeking interest, I'm afraid that deal is a no go." he said rather highly as he turned his attention fully back on his date. "As for other holidays, there is the Grand Galloping Galla. Of course, some.... ponyville days like the annual running of the leaves. But I never attend such things." he said and hoisted his nose higher intothe air.
"Nope, I understand, if they don't sell the deal is off, got it!" She said in agreement with him "they sound like such fun! Though, the Running of the Leaves you didn't attend? i would have thought that it would of been a good chance for a bit of inspiration, nice seasonal? Designs and all of that" she said as she looked a little curiously more so at the other "Grand Galloping Gala? Sounds like fun, you attended I assume?" She asked as she had to ask "alright, how about this, lets have a date! After this, I show you around my home and you tell me about yours, if it is a little too hard on you I understand but your home, it sounds like such a fun place, I would love to learn more about it if you are willing" she said, hoping she wasn't intruding on anything privet of his. |

All the couples who disappeared were teleported to a different location. When the dark mist dropped, they would have not been in the ballroom anymore, but in a dark, cold, foggy, and eerie garden that has been transformed into a giant hedge labyrinth. The hedges are overgrown in many areas, and some have giant thorny vines entangled in their branches. The only light in this location is a full moon. Visibility is very low.
Pae'il magic and abilities have been stunted. Pae'il cannot fly, even if they have wings. Teleportation is nullified. All Pae'il can only walk, unless otherwise noted in specific prompts. Any item the Pae'il may have been holding while in the ballroom will still be in their hands, including champagne flutes, food, flowers, etc.
"Hahahaha! Welcome party guests to my party. I've invited all of you, and all my special friends to play in this wonderful game!" Eris' voice can be heard, loud and booming, but she's nowhere to be seen. She sounds very excited and chipper about this.
"I have scattered various enchanted items in this labyrinth that you will need in order to escape. There's also some booby trapped items, so I'd be careful what you choose to pick up."
Pae'il must work with their partner to find a way out of this maze. Eris' "friends" can be lurking around any corner, so be careful, and choose your items carefully.
:[ :Labyrinth Details for Players ]: The Labyrinth is an enchanted hedge maze, which normally is Venus' garden. The location is unknown, but it can be assumed it's Dolandor due to the magical and random nature of how it works.
Eris has taken over Venus' garden and is controlling everything
Venus' entire retinue has been enthralled by Eris, including her Gatekeeper (The Minotaur) and one of her most prized possessions.
There will be various items scattered throughout the maze. Items that can either be useful, just junk, or turn into something special.
The Erotes are wandering around in this maze, hunting the couples. They have been instructed to shoot any whom they encounter. (Only three Erotes' arrows will cause babies).
The Graces are also wandering the maze, however their purpose is to cause more chaos. Their powers have been reversed while enthralled.
Pae'il may encounter other challengers that are more fearsome and stronger than the Erotes and Graces.
Pae'il must break the enthrall to free them all. Directions will be given when a challenger is encountered.

Respond to the prompts
When a choice is presented, each couple can only chose ONE of the options.
Pae'il may pick up anything they find along the way that may be deemed useful
You can RP as much as you want per day, but the new prompt and choice won't be posted till around midnight for the next day.
All NPCs and IPCs involved can post and interact with the couples as long as it doesn't interfere with the game. (Meaning: Eris could show up randomly or a secret stranger may try to complicate matters. Hints about which challenger is coming up can also be dropped by their players.)
If a staff member is your partner, you must make the decisions on which choice to follow.
When you have made a choice, only one person from each pair needs to put this code at the TOP of their reply:

After hearing Eris' announcement, it's decided that there's really only three choices facing the couples:
1. Head north, following a very dark, straight pathway.
2. Stay and investigate the hedges, and look for holes or useful items.
3. Head east, because there's a dim glow at the end of that path, so it might be a way out.

Nafretiti I hope you are right" Atlantis said as he started up the stairs "and you are most welcome, it looks nice in your hair" he said as he slipped on a stair, falling face first onto them "...and that shouldn't of happened" he said as he got himself back up "ow..." he said as he offered his arm again, making sure the suit was fine "and that is another reason I am not used to this place, stairs are not friends with me" he said as he started back up them.
[Twinkleshine laughed as she helped the poor man to his feet. "It happens to the best of us!" Arriving at the entry, she gasped and looked around, her grins right back on her face where it seemed to always remain. "Oh look at it all~ It's so... wonderful~" Everything was -just- how she had imagined it would be: the food, the dresses, the decor. It was just so beautiful.
Hearing something playing, she grabbed his hand and pulled him to the center of the floor, excited to have a chance to dance. She didn't even wait for him before throwing down some of her 'moves' and attracting confused looks from the other pae around her.
Some many songs passed before she became aware of a shouting voice. Turning her head, she saw two great beings, one of pink and one of purple, arguing with another. Then she noticed a mist descending around them. Her vision blurred, becoming one with the purple, then fading completely...]
As her vision returned, she found herself sitting, her arm draped onto Atlantis's chest, with a certain drudgery hanging about her vision and thinking. What... Had... Happened...? Where were they? She turned to look around at the others. Why were they all here; it was all so very confusing. Her gaze returned to Atlantis as she shook him lightly. "Hey... Hey... are you okay?" Then she heard someone speaking again; her eyes confirmed it to be the woman in purple. Who was she?
A labyrinth?! Like those crazy mazes that nobody can find their way in? No! No no no no! That was not how today was supposed to go! It was supposed to be happy, with drinks and dancing. Her eyes teared up and her cheeks blushed as she lamented her ruined night. |

Atlantis just followed his date, to see her happy made him happy and this dancing thing was strange but it wasn't too bad...what came next though he had no idea as he was teleported away from the festivities and...where were they? He looked around and looked at his date "I...I am fine, are you?" He asked, looking her over "and I have no idea where we are but..." he said as he looked and noticed she was right, they were in a labyrinth "what the heck!? How did...wait, no, huh!?" He couldn't make anything of it, what happened to the party!?
But that was the least of his worries, the maze he could some what handle but what he was secretly worried about the most was his date but also himself, he couldn't be out of water for long and who knows if there was any natural water source around this place, if he started to dry out...wait, no, right now he had but one person to worry about and that was his date, whatever happened to him happened to him but he would worry about her first. Atlantis gave the other a hug to try and calm her down and pulled away moments later "it will be alright, I promise, and I bet our hostess will be looking for us but first of all, we need to sort out what we are going to do" he said as he took her hand "just stay close to me, we need to stay together and I promise to protect you as much as I can" he said as he walked towards the fork and stopped "which way do you want to go?" He asked, looking at the different ways.
"It seems we can head north which looks a tad scary but I have heard one is meant to follow north if they wish to go home but I don't know if that is true or not and then there is east which looks like there is a bit of a light down there or we could stay here and see what we could find? Maybe there could be something useful around for us to use?" He suggested, they were in a maze and yes, she said they could find things she left but really, it is a maze, what things would be here that were useful? |

Twitchapher the 3rd "Princess!" Aquos waved to her as he rushed up to her, sporting a light blue vest. "I'm sorry to keep you waiting! I'm not so good at these formal things..." He stopped before her and bowed to her. "Shall we enter?"
[The princess looked to him, a very slight tinge of irritation and impatience on her face that was quickly molded out and made into a soft smile as she curtsied to him, her long dress brushing past her knees. She didn't honestly think that such an outfit was necessary, and that her crowned jewels were enough, but Hoity had simply insisted that he make her something fashionable; he probably was trying to make most of the faunies' outfits here to get his name out. Rising up, she nodded once, replying, "Let's..." before turning and heading into the gates.
Out of a formality rather than a real desire to do so, she took his arm and allowed him to 'lead' her as an escort should. The whole dance thing was fairly off-putting to the princess, and she would have much rather avoided the whole thing. But, as per usual, she wished to continue acting the part to the best of her abilities in front of her subjects, as had become nearly second-nature by this point.
Upon setting her eyes on the actual ballroom, Celestia instead turned to the mingling and the little foods that beautifully adorned laced cloth tables. In all of her preparation in her appearance, she had forgotten to eat all day. Catching the attention of Aquos, she motioned to the table before letting his arm go and heading that way, beaming on the inside to try such little morsels. She hadn't had too, too many, perhaps four or five such treats, before she sensed someone of great power arriving, identifying it near instantly to be a purple woman, speaking with whom she assumed to be Aphrodite. Setting her plate down, she neared to listen in on their conversation, catching the latter parts of it. A... Game...? That didn't sound appealing.
The woman's voice boomed and the fog appeared, slowly falling to consume everything. Celestia turned towards the dance floor, trying to keep her concerned feelings from showing as she looked for her date. But it became difficult to look; her arms and feet were going numb, her vision blurring, her head and eyes growing heavy... and then it was gone...]
Here eyes slowly opened as she found herself laying on the ground, in an unknown area, various other creatures like herself scattered in the area. Sitting up, she instinctively looked around to see if her escort had been moved here as well. |

Twinkleshine nodded to him, looking around distracted as she replied, "I'm fine." Her gaze drifted over the other pairs, even catching a glimpse of her two princesses; why had they been dragged here as well? Was this all a sort of conspiracy lead by these gods? What could...? Atlantis's voice brought her back out of her thoughts and into the reality of the situation. Turning her head, she returned her focus to him, and him alone. That's right... It's a game, let's just treat it as one. Y'know, one of those 'rpg'-type strategy games.
Nodding once again, she stood up, helping Atlantis to his feet as well. She held her hand in his out of the need to calm her nerves; she wasn't very good in these stressful types of situations. Looking to the three paths that branched out from the clearing, she shook her head before grinning. Yes! Just treat it like a game! You're the greatest actress, you can do this. "I think that's a good idea, except for another reason." She pointed to the light. "That looks like a trap to me, something too clique to be the real way," she then pointed to the curving path, "and that looks like just another was to try and mess up our sense of direction!" Grinning, she looked straight ahead to the darkness. "This is straight, and since it seems the most foreboding, I think there's the greatest chance of something unexpected, hopefully good-unexpected, waiting for us on the other side." She paused, still quite afraid to make the first move, as it seemed none of the others had even their wits about them yet. |

[Lugh chuckled, eying the large aquariums. "Wow, if we could get one of those, you'd never have to leave the farm to go back to the water," he mused, smiling. Then, he blinked, realizing what he may have inadvertently implied, and coughed to cover an embarrassed look. "Err..."
He was actually saved from further embarrassment by the rising mists around their feet. At first, he too thought it was some sort of party effect, but the booming voices from the throne accompanied by a sense of dread made him wonder if this party idea hadn't been such a good one afterall. The mists continued to rise, creeping into his vision, making it hard to see...to think...to move. Subconsciously, he pulled Lillison closer to his side, even as darkness enveloped him.]
Consciousness was slow to return. The autumn angel felt hazy, like he'd been drugged...not that he knew what that was like, but he imagined it had to feel something like this. His thoughts were scattered and at first, he couldn't remember where he was, or how he got here. 'How he got here' started to filter back, but as for where he was, well...that was going to take some investigation. He awoke, sprawled on the ground, one wing spread protectively over the Naiad at his side. Propping himself up on an elbow, he checked on her first. He frowned in concern, laying a hand on her shoulder to give her a gentle shake. "Lillison...? Lillison?!? Come on, wake up...tell me you're okay," he mumbled, half to himself in worry.

[Moana smiled sheepishly, hand still on the kind Faun's arm. Her 'proper poise' slipping for a minute, she laughed as if chatting with a friend. "That obvious, huh?" She hurriedly straightened herself, once more balanced on her feet. "I can't even imagine trying this with those 'shoe' things," she gestured vaguely towards some of the few Pae wearing such things on their feet. What would she even do with them when she went back to the water anyway?
Glancing at the large aquariums provided for those like herself, she had to comment, "Well, it is nice that they made such provisions for my kind. If I make a proper fool of myself, I could always retreat to the water." The purple mist had begun climbing at this point, and she glanced down, her eyes widening. "What is...?" She started to sway once more, dizzy and feeling weak. As everything went black, the Naiad fell forwards towards the Faun, completely out cold before they ever hit the floor.]
"...oww, my head," she groaned, keeping her eyes closed while reaching up to rub her throbbing temples. She couldn't remember having a headache this bad ever, though the way her head hurt, she felt lucky to even remember her own name. She tried to push herself up on her arms, blinking her eyes open blearily. The ground was quite warm at least...and furry...
That wasn't the ground.
Blinking awake, she was startled to find herself lying on top of the faun she'd been talking to before she'd blacked out. Startled enough that, despite her headache, she squeaked in alarm and leapt violently backwards, landing on her hip and wincing. "Oww, again," she muttered, regretting her action already. She felt horrible. What was going on? And what about the Faun? Peering at him, she leaned over him to see if he was still breathing. Seemed to be. "Hey. Hey!" She started poking his arm with her finger, ready to spring back again if necessary.

["Dysmas," she murmured, trying the name out. "I like it." She pulled back after the greeting, folding her hands behind her back to lean against the wall. "Similar story, I suppose. Mom needed to be here, so I tagged along to see if there was anything interesting likely to happen." She didn't mention that a party such as this was responsible for her very existence; but she wasn't the type to just arbitrarily share all information she had, especially of such a personal nature.
At least the boy seemed less likely to fall to pieces in front of her now. She smiled, about to ask him another question when a cold chill traveled down her spine. Without thinking, she reached out to grab the boy and shove him back against the wall beside her. "Something's not right," she hissed, eyes narrowing as she tried to keep both their backs to the wall. Nothing could sneak up on them that way, they'd keep their field of vision clear...unless that mist rising from the floor had anything to say about it. The mists rose...obscuring their vision...and the demi-goddess tried to keep her wits about her, even if the sudden inability to see threatened to incite panic.]
As the mists settled, the suddenly much emptier ballroom was painfully obvious. Where...had they all gone? Silvana's eyes darted from side to side, taking account of who was left. Most of the couples were gone, as were the Erotes around the sides of the room, the Graces, even the Spartan Graces that had been flanking Venus at her throne. All gone. Yet, Venus remained...and Silvana's sharp ears picked up her orders to find the other Goddesses in attendance. Did that mean...there was still hope.
She reached for the boy's hand, somewhat relieved to see that he too still remained. "Come, Dysmas. We should find my mother. She'll know what to do." She hoped she would, anyway. Though, her mother had never mentioned anything to her about this purple-haired woman, she had seemed to know Venus, so perhaps she knew Artemis as well. |

Looking back behind her, Twinkleshine watched as others began to awake. A moment of sadness passed as she realized that they were all in the same situation, and all would have their own story's path to find. Returning her gaze forward, she put on the most determined, optimistic expression she could muster. Even so, they hair their own they would find, unique to one another, and with this rashness and determination it would surely be a wonderful ending to be had.
She turned to Atlantis, a ferocious glint in her eye as she nodded once, squeezing his hand simultaneously. "Yes, let's." Looking at the darkness she breathed deeply, calming her nerves, before starting forward and letting it envelop her. |

[Halfway through a plate of cocktail shrimp, the tiger demon's bliss was interrupted by a feeling that not all was right. Seriously? Couldn't he ever go to a party just to eat some nice food, then go home without incident? Apparently not. Curse those Guardians that Takeko held so dear. He swore, they were conspiring to ruin his life, one incident at a time.
Whirling around, he caught the end of the exchange between Venus and Eris as the mists began to rise from the floor. He looked for his 'date', ready to grab her and get the heck...out...of...here...]
Unlike many of the Pae'il, Kane's awakening was abrupt. As soon as consciousness returned, he was on his feet. Well, on all fours, growling, with wings flared behind him and ready to attack whatever had dared...
Oh, s**t...the throbbing in his skull dropped him to one knee. This was like that other time...oh, no. Oh, hell no. Not happening again! No more magic babies this time! Okay, hangovers sucked too, but the events were sorta' related in his mind.
Forcing himself to his feet with a wince, he looked around, taking stock of his surroundings. Looked like he wasn't the only one here afterall...and the booming voice was echoing in his aching skull. Ugh, shut up, lady. Stop talking. Just stop.
Lovely. Trapped in a maze 'cause some crazy b***h couldn't handle a little rejection. She totally could have had his invitation. He'd remember to force-feed it to her when he found her. Best get out of here. He looked around at the scattered Pae waking up, frowning. "Yo, Opal? Where the hell are you?"

[His search for fish fingers and/or custard anywhere on the buffet had come to naught, much to K'anpo's dismay. Just horrible. How could you not...wait, was that a strange, purple mist?
Quickly returning to the Doctor, the pegasus looked about, wondering just what in the world was going on? Glancing down at their hooves, he clapped a hand on his friend's shoulder. "You know, this reminds me of the time..."]
"...ooh..." Groaning, the pegasus Fauny rolled over onto his stomach, wings reflexively stretching upwards then settling back down, no longer being crushed by the rest of his form. Was that...dirt? The earthy smell filled his nostrils, prompting him to blearily open his eyes. The bright ballroom was gone, replaced by a dark, dreary hedge...maze? Lovely.
Spying his friend nearby, he grumbled, "...not fair. Thought the cursed hedge mazes only grew in the swamps of Bala Nor, not in fancy ballrooms, sprouting out of the bloody punchbowl..." |
