Kemnebi looked over the new rules and sighed. That made her feel much better about using low flames, like she had been. In fact, she may want to turn the flame down now. There; she put it to the lowest flame available.

Billy decided to try this alchemy thing. He'd heard about it, and it seemed worth it. He carefully picked what he thought might be the strongest potion already and barely stuck heat under it.

Well well, this didn't seem to be going too bad. Whatever the liquid was it didn't seem the type to explosively start boiling. Never knew with alchemy. he held his flame steady.

Ah! He seemed to be moving in the right direction, maybe a bit. He watched his glowy blue liquid bubble and waved the flame gently under it.

Billy frowned. Was it just him or was his vial bubbling just a little too much? He shifted the flam a bit farther away, leaning down to the side to stare closer at the thing.

Ah, now the flame was too low again. Nebi turned the flame a little higher, noticing that she wasn't even half way there yet.

He scratched his head. he wasn't sure how he was doing compared to others, but he though his liquid was about halfway to taking over the center bubble. He turned up the flame, just a little, hoping to speed things up.

She definitely needed to turn the flame up. She cranked the gas, watching as the boiling liquid became more and more agitated.

Yep, turning up the flam seemed to do the trick. He upped it just a tiny bit more.

That was a little too much. Nebi lowered the gas, but not too much. She wanted to keep her potion bubbling. The cat-ghoul simply didn't want the mixture to expolode. She was getting close to the end, she could feel it.

Whoops, too much. He turned the burner back down quickly, hoping he hadn't done too much damage.

Well, his liquid seemed to be recovering a bit of progress. That was better than nothing right? Billy returned the flame to the temperature this stuff had been happy at before. he was rewarded by the odd glowy stuff filling the center globe.
