My mother named me Christen because she wanted to give me a name that can have an androgynous nickname (Chris) or perhaps a variety of other nicknames.
My middle name (Lynne) is the same as my mother's. She thought it went well with my first name. She originally wanted to name me Chrystal because she thought it sounded even better until her brother mentioned that a lot of drug dealers name their daughters Chrystal-Lynne so she slightly changed my first name..

My mom named me after her best friend, and gave me the same middle name as all of the clan from my father's side.

Apparently my name came from a Baby Names book - it means "Defender of Man" and is usually a male name in Russia.

Well, my name is Hannah Lydia.
So it happened a long long time ago when I was born.
When mum was still pregnant she and my dad made a list of boy names and girl names that they liked.
When I was born, they thought that the name that best suited me was Hannah, and my dads great-aunt was also called Hannah. And they also wanted a name that was global, because some of the names in the country I was born, would be hard for people to pronounce in the country I live in now.
Lydia, comes from coincidentally the fact that both of my parents have a grandmother with the name "Lydia" .

My real name is Charolette. Well, many might think that it came from Charlotte, but actually it's not and I still wonder why my parents did not think of that name. It would be much easier than my name's history. I lived here in the Philippines and apparantly, there was this media personality that was very famous that time. Her name was Charo Santos. At the same time, my mother wanted to have one of those Chevrolet cars. So when I was born, they combined those two names that eventually became my name.

My name was a last minute thing. My parents had another name in mind, but apparently my mom liked Skyler better. I kinda suits me. Apparently, the meaning of it is "scholar", and I am exceptionally smart, I guess you could say I have the same middle name as my father's only sister. I like that 'cause we are pretty close. (:

My mother named me Aria because it is synonymous in Italian with melody, my mother is Italian and used to be a not famous but well known singer in Italy. My father gave me my middle name René, which is a shorter version of my grandmothers name Irene.

my name is claire, it means either bright, clear, or famous. we just don't know. i'm a twin, and when i was born, my dad named me, and my mom named my sister. although my mom had the name idea of nora/eleanor, so i kind of wish she had named me. >.> yeah, not the biggest fan of my name (there's just too many claires). a bit too late for a nickname, though. my middle name, hadden, is my great-grandmother's maiden name. it means "hill of heather" or "from the heath," or something like that.

My mom named me Sarah because she couldn't think of anything original. That's the only theory I have.

My mom named me and my twin, and she just picked out names that she liked.
My dad wanted to name one of us Sabrina, (his ex-gf name) (not because it was his ex's name because he honestly liked the name), my mom said no. She named all my sisters and I.
Funny enough I though someone this story and they said they could see me as both a Tiffany and Sabrina.

Aww. I like that you have a story.
I was originally going to be called Jade, but my mom thought that my grandma didn't like it, so she decided against that name.
My mom always liked the name Caitlin, but felt that it was a little visually uneven (actually. xd ). She found the name Caitland in one of the baby name books she was looking through, but that sounded too much like a place so she dropped the 'd' and I ended up being named "Caitlan" and it was also very visually even with an a near the begining and near the end.
To this day, I have never met anyone else who has their named spelled with an a at the end like that, but I do have fun seeing what the people who write my name down will come up with next. xd
Kaitlynn, Katelynn... etc
