Short yes, but in relation to me you would be a little taller than how I drew you {I know because I have a friend who is your height}.

Unfortunately my smaller pen is running out of ink, so I'm trying to do all the inking with my thicker pen, which tends to bleed a bit. Yours might be the last one I ink unless the people awaiting orders have something to say about it.

Not inking the picture makes it to where I cannot clean up the lines as easily to get just the line art. The final product also exhibits frequent line breaks in the line art. To see what I'm talking about you can refer to Sample 2 and Kai's picture; they were not inked. Some benefits is that the image may go to the coloring stage sooner and I'm less likely to screw up the lines.

Doing all the inking with the thicker pen may have the benefit of me being able to clean the line art better, but it also means I can more easily mess up the line art and will not be able to do finer lines for small details and hair. Matri's will sort of be the experiment on how well inking with the thicker pen will go. I still have the smaller pen to do minor touch ups, but for the most part the pen is spent.

wow... I didn't even notice that. It makes the last statement of "the pen is spent" take on a whole new meaning.

Matri's is done. Slot 3 is now open. I should start Icy's tomorrow... or maybe later this morning if I feel up to it.

TES…have you considered using a darker (or softer) art pencil instead of pen? There are some artist pencils that are extremely black and will give you good results. I don't know what kind of pen you are using, but I have a set of very nice technical pens I used to use on a acetate overlay when I used to inking drawings. If you use the acetate your ink won't bleed.

For example: I have some pencils that are charcoal or you could try 6B, 8B. I also have a different brand of pencil by Eberhard Faber (Ebony, Jet Black, Extra Smooth) 6325.

You've got slot 3, Maune.

As for pencils, I just have a regular {and cheap} 0.5 mechanical pencil that I sketch with. I might have some softer sketch pencils packed away somewhere, but the problem I have with those is that they smudge really easily which would also make it harder to get clean lines. What I've been doing is sketching it with my mechanical pencil, going over it with pen, then erasing all of the pencil. I also use just regular printing paper to draw on. I don't have a whole lot of art supplies since drawing isn't something I do all that often.

If you have any advice on how to clean up lines quickly and effectively, then I could really use it. I've been scanning in black and white, which makes the lines a little rough and sometimes makes the thinner ones have breaks or disappear completely. I tried scanning in greyscale and it makes the image look better, but clean-up more difficult.

Whenever I sit down to draw (seems like it's been a lot recently lulz) I always start with at least a 4h sketch pencil and even with that I draw pretty lightly so when I need to erase (which is a lot) the lines come off cleanly and don't leave any smudging. I can't use mech pencils even though I tried. It's less precise than mech pencils, but it feels like my lines are smoother and I can regulate the thickness of the lines better by keeping the pencil sharpened only so much

If a drawing manages to make it past the sketch stage then I go straight into inking it with my special Pigma Micron pens with a 0.25 mm width...

I leave all my pencil sketch lines on the drawing because when I scan in the drawing I'll turn down the brightness and turn up the contrast so the paper is white and the lines are black and any greys in between are lost.

I don't use any special sketch paper either. Regular old printer paper has never failed me and it fits nicely on the scanner anyway.

PS... whee i absolutely adored the arts (lots of sexy points 3nodding ) you did of me and others in here. i had to go show mine off to my main gaia hangout and my everyone there enjoyed it lulz. and you get some major respect for keeping up a freebie thread long after i would have gotten bored with it X]

I never thought to turn the brightness down for some reason. I've messed with the contrast before, but didn't get results any better than scanning in black and white. I might try lowering the brightness next time to see if I get better results.

I also draw really lightly, but for areas that I ended up having to fix several times, the paper ends up smudged anyway. I had a Deleter Neopiko line 0.1 mm pen, but that's the one that ran out of ink. I think when I get around to buying art supplies I'll get another 0.1 pen, along with a 0.2 and a 0.5... or maybe try to find a set with several sizes and experiment with each to see what works best. I also need to get a sketch book since I'm running out of computer paper and it's hard to keep track of all the drawings when they're just on loose sheets of paper.

I'm glad you liked your drawing. These last few might get me clobbered by the spouse since I'm naked in all of them sweatdrop

I'm sorry fellow soul, but I do not have any slots open at the moment and I'm "closing shop" at the end of the day on Monday {unless no one snatches up the 4th slot that I will be opening up on Monday... in which case I will stay open until the 4th slot is claimed}.

So... if you want to order, you'll have to check back on Monday to see if the next slot has already been claimed. If I finish one of these other orders before then a slot will open up as well, but I somehow doubt these next few will be finished before Tuesday.
