SilentJubilee All you guys with leniant parents, please don't take it for granted! My dad approves of rock music but if he heard MCR he'd probably say "Ok, let's listen to something else." And then pop in Frank Sinatra instead. However, my mom thinks most rock and rock musicians (she saw a pic of Bert McCracken and freaked) are "scary". She still expects me to be her little girl. I can't listen to anything rock when she's around! sad Actually come to thin kof it, I'm not really like either of my parents. My dad is basically an engineer who cares most about my grades. He makes fun of me, calling me a goth, which makes no sense because it's not like I look/dress/act like even a stereotypical goth. And my mom was very athletic when she was younger. Now, she doesn't even listen to music of any kind and the only TV any of them watch is the golf channel. But I should be thankful that because she has no interest in music, she doesn't care what I listen too, as long as she doesn't hear it. The hardest part is, posters. I luv 'em. But it's hard to 'hide' posters. Especially MCR ones! I got a beautiful and large one of the band from Kerrang! Magazine, but I have no where to hang it up because I know my mother would be 'scared' and think of me as 'the failed child'. She likes my brother's music because he's such a wuss. He listens to pop and country. neutral Ok done ranting now. xp

My parents won't let me go to Warped. That dosen't mean I'm not going to go, it just means I have to be sneaky about it. Just goes to show how my parents don't like the music I listen to. Which I don't think should be that big of a deal, seeing as my dad's a pot head.

My parents don't like anything remotely related to death or suicide, they are mad at me now for listening to Hawthorne Height's "Ohio is for Lovers."

MCRroxmysox My parents don't like anything remotely related to death or suicide, they are mad at me now for listening to Hawthorne Height's "Ohio is for Lovers." That's a beautiful song heart . My mo wouldn't even listen to the lyrics, she baises her hatred of my music by sound, the louder and more screaming the worse it is to her. When I tell her about upcoming concerts and tell her how awsome they were afterward she just listens shaking her haed b/c she dosent see how they could be good. She's into oldies heart and smoe country.

Yeah, when I bought the CD I was unsure my mom would let me buy it because of the little Parental Advisory thingy on it, but she let me thankfully. She looked at the cover and was like EEEWWW and I was like "mom it's okay they're not like heavy metal or whatever, I mean come on they're the opening back for Green Day!" so she let me get it. but she still hasn't heard the CD. sweatdrop

Well my parents don't care at all but i live with my grandmother too and she is like super religion lady. She walked by when I was listening to "I Never Told You What I do For A Living" and she began yelling at me and called it Devil music........ I don't think it is bad though...........

My mom likes MCR, but she hates Sum 41. I have no idea why though. She said all Sum sing about is sex and drugs.
But I'm glad she likes MCR.

I don't know so much about my mom, but I know my dad wouldn't. He doesn't. He doesn't like [and I quote] 'the way the songs sound so similar' and 'the death thing'... but the strangest thing is, he's called Gerard handsome multiple times and bought me Three Cheers after watching Helena once, and bought me Warped tickets. eek
