Lady Blodwynn DarkElf27 Lady Blodwynn It's a good thing you wont be using that Tyrant in games, with TLOS it will be an easy target, especially seeing as the elevated base will lift it above intervening models. If/when I get Tyrand Guard for it, it won't be able to be singled out from the other members of its unit. As well, the Tyrant itself will be at the back of the base, so it'll only be minimally elevated. *wonders how many people will cheap out and model cover onto the bases of models* "What? It's not a building, my commander is in the building, you just can't see him!"

I was actually planning a Vindicare that would have an amount of cover modeled onto him that he'd look like a real military sniper. Of course, I'd need several so that I could use them in multiple terrain types.
Your Tyrant is going to look epic, man.

I'm on an explosive fit of off-topic productivity due to the probability of playing a whole lot of Warhammer tomorrow; I re-basecoated my Leman Russ and have it almost done painting, I'll also be re-basing my Commander so he'll be fit for use and finishing building a Fire Support Squadron.
Pictures tomorrow, when I'm done. Little in the way of WIPs, sorry.

I have to hand it to you. You really pulled a tough haul on that one. 'Specially with those Scouts.

Continuing to work on Drake for the competition. 4 and 5: I added several more Purity Seals and a pair of binoculars from the Scout kit for more detail. 6 and 7: Basecoated and with most/all of the blue. I love the way the photos came out on this one; first time I tried using two lights mounted in front and above the models, and it worked beautifully. | 4| 5|*| 6| 7|

More Drake work. 8 and 9: Painted the purity seals. Basecoat of Bubonic Brown, followed by Bleached Bone, and scrollwork down with a shaved toothpick. The tops were done with Blood Red, followed by Chestnut Ink. 10 and 11: Most/all of the metallics. Used a combination of Chainmail and Boltgun metal to highlight one another, and Black Ink over the joints. Notice battle damage in three places; the right shoulder, the crotch, and the very top of the left forearm. | 8| 9|*| 10| 11|

Drake completed. 12 and 13: Gold metallics and eyes; I love how the eyes came out, they appear almost as if they're glowing. They were done by Dark Green Ink over Skull White. The gold metallics were done with Brown Ink over Shining Gold. 14 and 15: Plasma pistol, highlighting, basing, and detailing. Highlighting was done with Ultramarines Blue for the blue portions and Codex Grey for the black portions. Plasma pistol core was done similarly to the eyes, with Blue Ink over Skull White. 16 through 20: Flat matte sealant, made smoke for the plasma gun with grey wool, and gloss over a couple parts, like the eyes and lenses. | 12| 13|*| 14| 15|*| 16| 17| 18| 19| 20|

So you mean to tell us, Mr Drake here almost lost his manhood huh.. Interesting...
Anyway! Impressive job, I can see why those scouts won you that prize, and he's a totally different model!
