Hi! Guess I'm the newest Geezer! Please excuse me for not reading all 50+ pages of this thread. Will get the reading glasses and try again later. smile
I'm 49 and married to a wonderful guy. We have two sons, ages 20 and 22, both in college, which means we're perpetually broke. (Parents with college kids know what I'm talking about... lol!)
I'm a part-time school nurse and middle-school history teacher. I also help out with the school drama department as stage manager and set designer (10 years and still going). I'm also a former soccer mom, having coached and watched all my boys' games from K5 through high school. Yes, I'm a frazzled, over-worked, and wouldn't have it any other way, mom and wife... biggrin
To work off any and all, I do pottery. Throwing clay is very therapeutic, whether it be on the wheel or at the walls... depending on the mood at the time. My husband and I are currently remodeling a utility building on our property for a studio (right now in a cramped little room in our basement). I'm not too great at computer skills, but I'm slowly but surely getting pictures of my stuff on PhotoBucket and eventually transferred to my journal. Please feel free to visit it!
Thanks for having a forum here in Gaia where I can feel where I belong!

Wonderful to see you here...
I did pottery when I was in high school, then I took a few community classes from the mother of a friend of mine that does pottery for a living. I never got very good at it, but I do understand you when you say it is therapeutic. I still have a couple things I made back in high school and so do my parents. Amazing how long you hang on to things you make yourself.

biggrin Welcome - hope you enjoy it here! I know what you mean about "belonging" - this guild was the first place in Gaia that I felt really at home, after realising that I was (very) much older than the average Gaian... xd

Hey, y'all! Rhiannon told me about this place, so I thought I'd limp in & ask to join you! Just got accepted today. biggrin I'm a tired ol' factory worker & long time Doctor Who fan. I've been drawing ever since I could hold a crayon & I'm trying to get the hang of this newfangled computer art stuff. mrgreen I've done most of the graphics on my site now, & I have a Doctor Who parody being posted in my Journal. Gimmie a cane; my sciatica is buggin' me today. mad

I'm here! I'm the newest, and probably one of the younger geezers here at 22, but I'm here nonetheless and absolutely thrilled! ^^
