☆ ☆【As soon as everyone was in agreement to get going before more of those Gengar showed up, Piper kept at a pace alongside her teammates as they made for the stairs. As she started to climb up, the Noivern curiously glanced back the way they had come to take in the sight of the town, blinking as she noted how much larger it was than their rather short trek through it would have suggested. How odd… Then again, she supposed she couldn’t really complain since it meant that they were getting closer to wherever Darkrai was hiding. She hummed as she barely caught Ai’s muttered statement wondering how much further it was, the Noivern wanted to know as well. Still, for now she would focus on spending more time getting to know more about her teammates and new friends.
”Y-Yeah… It w-was actually s-surprisingly easy like the H-Hypno had been,” she nodded in agreement with Ai’s statement of how easily they had taken out the Mega Gengar, ”Then a-again we h-had the advantage of n-numbers and t-teamwork, even a M-Mega Pokemon wouldn’t h-have stood a chance against the f-five of us together.” Still, she felt quite confident as they pushed onwards, even if the fight against Darkrai himself proved to be the most difficult of them all she was sure they’d be able to win in the end. ”S-Seems like D-Darkrai sorely underestimated us,” she chipped in with a nod and a small smile, chuckling as Vivace declared they would smack him back into whatever hole he had crawled out of, ”You b-bet we will, V-Vivie~” If that Mega Gengar hardly stood even a ghost (heh, puns) of a chance against them, somehow she doubted Darkrai would fare much better in the face of their combined strength. Still… she couldn’t help but wonder what would happen after they defeated him… Would they just instantly vanish from this dream world and wake up in the real world again? As much as Piper was eager to get back to Zoey… she honestly hoped that she’d have a little more time to spend with her new friends before they all returned to their respective trainers. It would really suck for them to just disappear without even getting the chance to say goodbye, at least.
She turned her attention towards Vivace as the Togepi spoke up, answering her question from earlier before they’d been interrupted by the fight against the guardian. Piper hummed thoughtfully as Vivace said that she stayed away from cities and towns when she had first started out because they were too big to explore. ”Ah… I-I suppose that m-makes sense, a l-little Pokemon would certainly h-have a much harder t-time getting around s-such a large, c-crowded area by themselves,” she said with a nod of understanding, ”I m-mean, maybe you c-could’ve f-found a trainer m-much quicker that way if y-you did… Still, I i-imagine that w-would’ve also b-been pretty risky if you had possibly f-fallen into the wrong h-hands…” Especially given Vivace’s unusual coloring for her species, there were people out there who would collect such Pokemon and sell them with… less than good intentions in mind. ”W-Well I certainly h-hope you’ll be really g-good friends with your n-new trainer when you f-finally meet them, V-Vivie,” she offered, a bit more optimistically this time, ”Who knows… m-maybe if we m-meet each other again in the r-real world, you’ll h-have evolved by then~”】☆ ☆

☆ ☆【With the Gengar quite easily defeated with their combined efforts, Mogwai couldn’t help but feel a strange mixture of confidence and bewilderment as they made their way towards the stairs. He had honestly expected the guardian to be much more of a challenge considering how much tougher it had been than the Hypno… then again, the fight had pretty much been stacked against it from the start since it was four against one. If these guardians were indeed meant to be a means for this Darkrai to test their strength and abilities, then it would seem that he had vastly underestimated them. Still, he had to wonder how tough the battle against Darkrai himself might turn out to be when they finally reached wherever he was hiding out at. Regardless, Mogwai felt like he’d be more than ready to beat down the big bad guy when they found him, put an end to this villain’s evil schemes and save his trainer and all of his friends.
With Chickpea’s approval in response to his inquiry, Mogwai was more than happy to oblige as he bent down, gently scooping the Chikorita in his arms and ensuring he was comfortable before pressing on. He certainly didn’t mind having the Natu perched on his own head, at least from there the little green bird would have quite the vantage point. As they kept moving, the Bewear’s ears twitched as Dune spoke up, inquiring how Chickpea had done with that odd smell he had released that had helped to strengthen them. The little grass dinosaur seemed a bit unsure of how to answer, before saying that while he didn’t know it had been quite nice, and offered to do it again. ”Yeeeeees!” Mogwai piped up with a nod alongside Daphnes’s agreement, offering a warm smile to his little passenger, ”Veeeeeeryyyyy niiiiiice smeeeeeell, maaaaake Moooooogwaaaaaiiii feeeeeeel stroooooong! Thiiiiink veeeeeryyyyy uuuuusefuuuuul!” It could certainly come in handy in whatever other battles they might have to fight between now and whenever they finally got to Darkrai, and perhaps even against Darkrai himself!
Upon noticing Valoo joining alongside them, remarking about the fight against the Gengar and admiring how well they’d been able to hold their own, Mogwai couldn’t help asking how their new companion was doing. It didn’t look like he had sustained any injuries at all, which was certainly a good sign… But still, Valoo had had to fight against that very tough guardian alone rather than with the rest of them. However, the Charmander was quick to reassure that he was just fine, saying that the Gengar had been no problem for him to take care of. ”Oooooh? Vaaaaalooooo puuuuuurettyyyyyy stroooooong!” Mogwai admonished with awe, nodding in agreement at Valoo’s suggestion of them maybe fighting together next time, ”Yeeeeees, beeeeee gooooood, fiiiiiiiight Daaaaarkraaaaiiii tooooogeeeetheeeer!” They would certainly need all the help they could get if they were going to succeed in beating down Darkrai for good, after all!】☆ ☆

☆ ☆【While she was more used to being on the front lines and helping to beat down the enemy in a fight, Fianna felt it would be more helpful for her to stand back and provide support to her teammates with this new move she’d learned. Sure enough, it proved to be very helpful for their team as their first barrage of attacks managed to severely weaken the Mega Gengar. She had expected for it to not to downed so easily like that… though it was clear that the Gengar was starting to realize just how much of a mistake it’d made trying to take them all on at once. Thankfully it hadn’t made a move to counter back against them, but the Braixen would be damned if she’d let it get the opportunity to harm her companions. A worried frown crossed her face as Daiki fought like a wild, cornered animal, managing to get in two more strikes fueled with dark energy. Fianna’s ears went up in alarm when the Zoroark suddenly collapsed, her feet already moving her closer to help him if he needed it. However, it seemed their new Medicham companion got there first, telling off Daiki as he reprimanded the Dark-type for being so dramatic and flicked his ear. The Zoroark didn’t like that, snarling and swiping at him in kind as he climbed to his feet again, baring his teeth in warning and shooting him a dagger sharp glare. The Medicham seemed otherwise unfazed, telling Daiki that he needed more focus and warning him that going all out was just going to hurt him and everyone else. At that time, Shade landed a pair of Knock Off attacks against the Gengar, causing it to fall back and sink back into the shadows where it had come from and causing the darkness around them to dissipate.
Fianna gestured for the others to come along now that the path to the stairs was open to them, seeing their new Medicham companion already starting to walk onwards. As they started moving along to get to the stairs, hopefully before more Mega Gengar showed up, the Braixen carefully approached Daiki as he dusted himself off. ”Hey… You alright?” she asked softly, tilting her head a little to meet his gaze as she offered a small smile, ”I suppose we’ll have to take a rain check on that ‘kiss of life’ for now, huh?” She gave a soft chuckle, attempting to help lighten up the mood a little. ”For real, though… You really scared me when you suddenly collapsed like that…” she said with a soft sigh, her smile fading away into concern with a small hint of annoyance in her eyes as she momentarily looked in the direction of the Medicham, ”I mean… I suppose that guy does have a point, though he probably could’ve put it a much better way than, well… that.” The fire fox gestured for Daiki to walk with her, glancing over towards the Medicham that walked a bit of a distance up ahead of them. Honestly, the way he had spoken to Daiki sounded… judgmental and perhaps a little condescending… and Fianna didn’t approve of it. She wondered if maybe part of that had to do with how their encounter from before had gone down, though perhaps it might be better to not pry into that too much. She had noticed how the Medicham hadn’t really jumped in to help them in that fight either, then again he had probably felt that his aid wasn’t necessary since they’d proved capable enough of holding their own. ”Still… it’s just something that you’ll just need more practice with, yeah?” she suggested, offering a warm smile as she gently took hold of one of his hands and squeezed it reassuringly.】☆ ☆
