Lights....
Flashes....
Figures....
Lights and flashes and figures and... purple. Not the pretty purple of his hero, no. It was her purple. His crazy flailing had stopped briefly when she spoke to him, his body seemingly frozen like a deer in head lights. Oh gods she even spoke his name! Just the tone alone sent chills up his spine.
Shaking his head, he backed away as she came closer. Sweetie his back side, he'd rather hug a rock. It took all his might not to stare at her, his gaze instead focused downward. At least until he saw a flash of pink and his eyes trailed on the feather as it floated away. A cold sweat swept over him as he began to shake again, increasingly so until he was once again flailing about.
At least until his twin grabbed him and shook him. Blinking stupidly at Himeros, he nodded again. "Y-y-ye....ok." he quivered, scanning the crowd. At least Aglaia wasn't anywhere to be seen. Good. Please stay that way... oh but where was Mooooooom. The real mom....
Groaning, Pothos slipped over to the other side of the room, tip toeing AROUND the snakes as much as possible, not to mention other screaming flailing pae who by the way could really use a lesson on proper flailing, while starting to usher mortals out the door. Blinking as he caught a flash of familiar purple, he grabbed Vika, his once daring hero. "Mama's new man ain't worth it, lets book!" he shouted and tossed her out the door.... all the while slowly inching his way closer to the door as well.

Feral nodded, agreeing. It was far past time to leave the party. Taking her hand, he followed her towards the door, that was at least until Venus returned and the lights flashed back on.
Stopping, he grabbed Bree, pulling her back a bit, a gaze in his features suggesting to wait just one moment.... Something seemed off. Perhaps he just didn't know thnis Venus character well, but he was sure she wouldn't have just destroyed all the gifts she had previously adored... would she? And to insult the cake... his own gift didn't matter but he had just did his best to try to fix the cake... and she destroyed all of it.
Gripping his fist together, he was about to say something when Venus suddenly... changed. No longer was she pink but purple instead. And much more foreboding. "I don't like the looks of this..." he grunted under his breath, which nearly left him as snake like figures slithered their way into the room on command.
Snakes were dangerous back in the jungle, even as just snakes. But these were pae snakes. "We need to move.. NOW." Feral hissed, scooping up Bree and flaring his wings to rise them above most of the ground commotion as he made a b-line for the door.

Screaming...loud...the pain of it in her ears was enough to jar her even from staring at Adonis. Vika had nearly doubled over, hands over her ears, trying to get her bearings, figure out what was going on, did she run? Fight? Get away? Which direction?
Fortunately, her hero came to her rescue again. Pothos tugged her out of her stupor (quite literally as well), the motion giving her a direction to move as well as making the choice for her as she spotted the enormous snake creatures. By the dark forest...
Decision made, she looked towards the door where she'd been tossed, then turned back. Pae were rushing by all around, but she wasn't going to abandon her hero when he'd just saved her again. Reaching back, she took hold of Pothos' hand. "Come on! Let's go!"

Xanthous merely shrugged. To him, it was merely a city that hovered on it's own. Magic? Meh. Maybe. He didn't much care for the place entirely. It had its benefits, of course. Like Ice Cream, pretty women, and his surrogate father, but other than that...? Nothing else particularly interesting to him.
It was definitely no where near as interesting as this bodacious babe he was getting to spend the evening with!
Wait... Bodacious?! ... Babe?!?!... Where the hell did that come from?!?!?!
He shook his head and smiled. His mouth opened, about to say something along the lines of, "Trees can be fascinating, if you think about it!" but his words were cut off by the hand upon his thigh and the extreme close-up view of Fortissimo's figure practically nuzzles up against him... 'Damn... I could get used to this...' he thought to himself, easily becoming wrapped up in the way she so sensually nibbled at the fruit he held for her.
The urge to toss the remaining snacks aside and carry her away into the night for some suddenly-much-needed-one-on-one... talking! YES! TALKING TIME! Jeez, Xanny-boy! Tame yerself!!
He shifted a bit in his seat and turned a bit so that his arm could easily slip the rest of the way about her waist and scoot her closer. It took every fiber left of his "sober" self to not claim those luscious lips to his, but he leaned in as if more than willing to.“Let's forget about it an' talk about more interest'n matters. Like what a gal needs to do to get ya alone.” Hooooly ffffffffffffffffffff-....
He stirred again and procured a smooth grin. "Oh, m'lady... All you gotta do is ask." he half cooed, lifting her knuckles to his lips again for another soft peck of a kiss. "With a voice as sweet as yours, talking just like that, I'll do absolutely anything--..."
Thunder cracked.
"... -- you... want me to...?"
He blinked, looking around to the chaos that began to brew about them. When a hooded Pae made their entrance, he turned and came to a stand, immediately placing himself between her and whoever this Pae was. His stance went rigid as two new figures began to slither their way into view. His wings ruffled amidst the chaos that continued and he half turned, placing a hand in hers and nodded towards a door nearby.
"We should, uh..." he looked a little panicked, but still remained boldly placed between her and the current... villains? in the room? They were villains, right? No one seemed to particular be fond of these... creatures. Or of the Female who so brazenly interrupted his one and only chance to get luc-- er... riiiight...

Snakes. It had to be snakes. Not that Phaenna cared for snakes but this wasn't how the night was suppose to end. More so, where was mother? How long had she been missing? Had she been here at all? What was worst was he knew strong beings when he saw them and these snakes looked STRONG. This was bad. Really bad. Then there was Eris' threat. That really made his blood boil. He was helpless once again, just like last year under the mind control. To run away was simply cowardice but his back was against the wall. There was nothing he could do.
"KLETA! Get the mortals out first!" He snapped to his twin, but he was sure she already understood. Phaenna moved to get behind the last of the guest, turning around and keeping an eye on the snakes, backing away as the Pae moved. Least he could do was to make sure all the mortals got out before him.

He froze as her hand grabbed his. Wait what. She was supposed to run, he just tossed her out the door practically.... yet she stopped for him?
Damn all the things!
Choking on a sob, he bit his lips and ran with her towards the door. Hey the other's could handle things, right? He didn't need to be told to get the heck out of dodge a second time. Aglaia had the right idea way long ago, he should have followed. "Mooove. I don't fancy being snake bait..." he urged Vika out the door, yet as much away from the things as possible, finally deciding to just scoop her up and book it like no ones business.

Bree was charging ahead with a determined look on her face, not allowing anypae or crumbling of the building get in her way. She dodge screaming and flailing pae alike, apologizing for bumping or shoving some out of the way. She wasn't going to be a pushover this time, she was ready to get the heck out of there.
The screaming grew louder as the not Venus changed, Bree didn't catch this though. Her eyes were glued to the doors a few paces away from her and she was on a mission. She wasn't going to allow anything to distract her from safety. Not until the doors slammed open and two snake like Pae slithered their way in did she halt in her steps with a shriek. She had never seen anything like them! And she was glad she hadn't with the size of their fangs and weapons. She caught herself staring, unable to move from pure awe and fright of what she was seeing. Where had they come from?
Bree squeaked when Feral scooped her up, her cheeks going instantly red. She threw her arms around his neck, clinging as he flew them above the crowd. She wasn't new to flying, but definitely to this type. She squeezed a bit tighter, being mindful to not choke the poor guy. “Watch it, oh careful...” she commented as they tried to make their way through the crowd that was just continuously becoming a raging mass, anyone taking to the sky or pushing through the crowd. Any way they could to freedom and safety. She finally just buried her face into his neck trusting him to take care of it himself.
She peeked out behind them to look at the woman responsible for this. For someone causing such a freak out she was beautiful. As scared as Bree was, she felt a twinge of pain as she wondered what had happened to this being that she chose this path for her life. She didn't know a thing about the purple Pae, but she wished there was something she could do for her sake. Something must have happened to her in her life that brought her to this point, something that was causing this mess now. Had it been different for her would it have been different for them?

Fortissimo felt a warmth flood her veins at the words he cooed at her. She couldn't believe she had said that, she more so couldn't believe he was agreeing. Now she had her answer of whether or not he was feeling as hot and heavy as she was- it was a definite yes. The warmth spread to parts of her she hadn't felt in a long time when he kissed her knuckles- or maybe she was just anxiously excited for what could be coming next.
She flinched, her head snapping to the side. From their spot in the far corner she could see everything unfolding before her. She only tore her eyes away from the drama when Xanthous came to his feet. Like a savior he put himself between her and the commotion causing a different stirring of emotion in her. She felt- honored? Special? What was this? Who was he that he'd so willing put himself in danger for her, a lady he had only just met.
She stared up at him in awe as he took her hand. She was dazzled by his wings as they ruffled at his nervousness. His show of true emotion was throwing her for a loop. He was taking on the roll of a hero, but someone who was still frighted themselves. In the back of her mind she knew she should be freaking out, but she was just so thrown off by this new Pae that was showing themselves to her.
Gosh did she want him even worse now. This strong male pae who wasn't afraid to show his true emotion. Who didn't want a piece of that?
She gently turned her head and fanned herself in a way to keep him from noticing. How in the world was she still thinking about getting a piece of him while their lives were in danger? Why did he have to be so heroic and real with her? She needed the flirt back before he got a piece of her with a side of crumbling pillars...
His voice broke through her moment as she turned her head back towards him. “Yeah, this place ain't gonna hold togetha much longer iff'n this lady keeps up with her antics.” she tugged on his hand gently and began heading towards the door he had nodded towards. She would have ran, but with the massive amount of bodies blocking their way it took all of her strength to walk and keep her hand in his.
Fear was definitely shaking her up as lightning filled the air around them and she caught a quick glimpse of... snake Pae? She kept her eyes on the door in front of her, only glancing away to look at the male who was clinging to her as tight as she was to him. If they made this out alive she was going to have to thank him for his protection... She didn't even bother to shoo away the intrusive thought, things like that were what were keeping her sane at this very moment.

Eros snarled.
Eris.
"I knew something was up," he murmured, to Phaenna, who had come over previously. He didn't see any signs of Kleta, but it seemed that Phaenna did, already shouting for her--or his, tonight--twin. Good. The Spartan Graces were mobilizing as he knew they would. "Defend the mortals!" He shouted to her, looking around. "Things are going to descend into chaos fast around here and we absolutely need to get everyone out--"
Was his brother shouting over him?
Eros' eye twitched. That was his responsibility as the leader of the Erotes, not Himeros'... Still, this wasn't the time to get into petty bickering about who was the boss. He was helping, so, for the moment, his own barked orders would stand. There was no real point in Eros trying to cause any more problems than there were already with the return of Eris.
What happened to his mother? It seemed odder and odder that she declared she needed to check something out and she would be right back. Had she been lured--
To all the Erotes and Graces, Eros flew over to them, giving them his commands.
"Do not engage Eris. I repeat, do not engage. We will not be able to challenge her. The best we can do is protect the mortals and protect each other. Clear them out and protect. Defend as much as possible but do not be afraid to retreat if needed."
He felt bad for his mother's temple but ...
What else could they do? Even he had fallen to her spell in years prior.

Xanthous brain was all sorts of fuddled now. Between the chaos, the pretty date, the screaming Pae, the demanding Gods, the Snake Pae, the cackling... purple woman... thing...
The crowds around them pushed and shoved as he followed as close as he possibly could to Mama Blue's lead. Another bump sent the two literally tugging at each other to stay connected and close. His heart ached for a moment as the doors came into view. They'll have to funnel through and the other Paeple around them were far too panicked to attempt single file through it.
Another bump and his fingers slipped, the crowd pushing them apart a moment as his eyes immediately snapped up to the fleeting figure of his "date". He retained that eye contact for a brief moment. If her eyes flashed back to his, he'd shout, visibly forming the words, "I'll meet you outside! Keep moving!!"
He frowned. Sure he was scared. His ruffled and now a bit frazzled feathers told that story all too well. But there was another side to Xanthous that was most commonly dormant. There were times where he could be legitimately chivalrous.
He then took up to slowing his pace a bit, tugging on arms of distracted Pae to pull them along with him through the door. If they were in any sort of awe, he'd flare his wings into the line of sight and bring them back into the reality of the moment.
He didn't linger long in doing this though. His efforts were only half-assed as he attempted to also reunite with his "date". Last he'd seen, her face was still drifting in the direction of the doors. He only hoped she hadn't tried to double back and got lost looking for him in the effort.

Even with his wings, getting out was proving difficult. Many others had had the same idea and were colliding in their panic to try and get out the door. Some were trying to play hero when the before mischiefs makers were already seeing to that. Feral would leave the heroics up to them, it seemed more their line of duty, after all, judging from that purple one's words, they were related. Yet even still, they seemed powerless without their so called Venus and she was still no where to be seen.
"Hold on tight Bree, it may get rough." he said, though the words were more for himself. The fae was clung so tight around his neck, he couldn't drop her even if he wanted too. Not that he did. But the packed spaces were proving difficult to maneuver, and in attempts to not hurt Bree, himself, or others, he had to often hit the breaks quickly.
The only time he purposefully hit the breaks was once he had shot outside. He paused long enough to set Bree down on her feet so she could take to wing herself. It would be quicker that way. "C'mon, I don't think it wise to stick around this place a second longer...." he said, glaring inside before back at her. He knew when it was better to run then stand and try to make a difference.

Celeano was still making out with Ky when the chaos inside started. She sat up abruptly at the sounds of thunder, and her expression went to confused then worried when screaming started. The area had been moderately lit when they'd come out but then it became dark. And eventually lit again and almost eerily quiet "Ky, ... Ky what is going on???" she asked and when other pae started shoving their ways out the doors they had earlier exitted she clung to him around his neck "Protect me!"Like the other pae around him Lin was startled by the lights going out and the thunder and lightening. "Hey don't shove!" he claimed more then once as he was jostled around in the dark. When the lights came back on he blinked multiple times to readjust his eyes tothe light, he didn't need to be told twice when the others said to get out.Lila had no idea about the thunder, though she felt the vibrations. The lights went out and she panicked, grabbing the nearest pae to her and holding tight. When the lights came back on she did not know at first what was going on but saw the two snake-creatures enter. She turned and hurried away to hide, and was soon being pushed in each which way towards the door as everyone panicked to get out.The hairs on Payne's body stood on end as the lights went out and the crashes and screams started. She hissed slightly and dug her claws into a chair near her until the lights came on. Like others thats when she saw the new-comers to the party and she didn't like them at all. She wanted to be on the offensive but like the other non-deities she was being led out

As soon as the lights went off, Kleta had been on edge. She had quickly made her way through the darkness down a side hall and into a room where she had hidden her spear and shield in order to carry the bow instead that night. She wasn't supposed to need her spear and shield.
But the lights going out wasn't on the planned events list either, so it was better to be safe. The green goddess could hear the roar of thunder as she made her way back down the hall, and by the time she was back in the main room all chaos had already broken out.
She heard the call of her sister, more masculine sounding than usual but it was undeniably the voice of Phaenna. Get the mortals out, right. Kleta's eyes darted around the room trying to figure out what exactly happened in the short time she had disappeared.
Eris... of course. Kleta's eyes narrowed, but she couldn't pay attention to Eris now, they needed to get the mortals safe before they had a repeat of the year before. These sort of matters... really needed to stay in the family, no need to drag in innocents.
What the... At the other entrance to the room, Kleta could now see what everyone was moving away from. Massive, snake like creatures. Where in Telrunya had these spawns of hell come from? Her eyes darted back to Phaenna for one moment.
Kleta then heard Eros barking out commands and her attention turned towards him, still trying to keep the mortals moving and one eyes on the predators. Oh... she didn't need to be told twice not to mess with Eris. The best of warrior was not a match to her cursed magic.
"Stay calm mortals, everyone will get out." Kleta spoke as she began herding them with the other erotes, her spear pointed towards the outside. If they all began pushing and shoving, trying to get out first it would just make things worse.

Luckily already near the doors when the rest of the party seemed to realize something was seriously wrong and that 'outside' was much better than 'in', Moana was relieved when Terran agreed. She wasn't sure if he'd seen what she'd seen, but in moments, it didn't matter. The too-familiar figure from her best-forgotten nightmares had appeared in a puff of purple smoke, accompanied by beasts more frightening than any horrors she could imagine from the depths. For a moment, she'd frozen, staring. "By the Waters...what are they?"
Then, fear had kicked in again as Eris started speaking. She didn't want to wait to hear what she actually said; Moana was tugging Terran towards the exit again. When she emerged into the cool of night, she didn't slow or stop. She wanted to put as much distance between them and this place as possible.
It had been turning into such a nice evening...and then all this had to happen. It happened again...

Montana needed all of three seconds after the snakes appeared to make a dive for it. The panicked fae didn't care if anyone saw her, she went to the mirror she came from and dived right in. Only there was she safe, the worst that would happen was she would loose a window. For as long as she had it, the fae watched, now calm and passive.
