((Ohmygeee!! Love Ducan's dad so much. XDDD))
Faye blushed as he was complimented and hugged. Shaking Mrs. Dartmoore's hand, he followed them to the kitchen: "Mr. and Mrs. Dartmoore, these are my parents, Rachel and Kikyo Leonard." he gestured with his hand.
"Nice to meet you both!" Rachel smiled warmly, shaking both of their hands. "How are you?" Kikyo nodded from her seat.

Johnny turned around to Ducan, grinning and pointing at Faye's parents. "Two women!" he declared, "Pretty women! I like your in-laws, Ducan!"
He gave them both a tight hug then moved on to greet Lance while his wife apologized for his outrageous behavior.
Ducan pulled Faye close to him and kissed his mop of brown hair. "I think my father will calm down a bit after he eats. Is the pasta almost ready?"

Ducan could kiss him a million times and the baker would still blush a strawberry red: "Yeah its finished. We were just waiting for them to get here!" He walked over and started plating some food, Faye was so very nervous that he almost missed the plate entirely. After everyone was seated, dinner began. Faye had a small hand on Ducan's knee to calm his nerves while he ate:
"So, Mr. and Mrs. Dartmoore, may I ask what you two do for a living?" Rachel said, twirling her spaghetti around her fork with ease.

"I'm head of an advertising company," Johnny began, "And since my two sons have careers of their own, I will be passing down the job to my nephew once I retire."
"You mean cousin Creed?" Ducan asked, "But..."
"Ducan, we have been through this! No more of this silly rivalry! Besides, you have never been interested in corporate business."
Ducan muttered low, "Doesn't mean that idiot should get the job."
"I'm a real estate saleswoman," Lydia said, "Quite a comfortable job, really."

Faye laughed from behind his hand at Ducan's muttered statement: "I always wanted to know about restate. Where is the most affordable housing around here? Because I was thinking about selling my apartment..."
"Since when, Hunna?" Kikyo wondered, this was new news to her. "For a good two months. Its awfully small and depressing. But its convenient since work is close." "But but I love your cute apartment! Downtown is so expensive!" exclaimed Rachel, she know Faye hated moving. "I know. Thats why I'm asking Mrs. Dartmoore." the baker turned back to Ducan's mother and smiled: "Any suggestions?"

"What? I figured you would be moving in with Ducan!" Johnny cut in, munching on a breadstick.
"Dad, we haven't exactly... talked about it yet," Ducan muttered, embarassed.
"Nonsense!" Johnny waved his half-eaten breadstick around. "You two should move into a huge house!"
"I know of some very nice, affordable houses down on Maple Avenue," Linda said, "If Ducan could give you my number, you could call me anytime, and I'll show you what they're like."
"A nice, biiiig house!" Ducan's father jumped right back into the conversation. "You'll need room for all those little kids you're going to adopt! I assume you've talked about adopting kids?"
"Um, Dad? About that..."

Seeing that Ducan grew silent about the topic of children, Faye held his hand and turned to Johnny proudly. The baker thought that he might as well get it over with. They were going to find out anyway:
"I can get pregnant." he stated rather matter-of-factly: "Hopefully, our son or daughter will have Ducan's nice hair and your enthusiasm, Mr. Dartmoore."

Ducan's parents stared at Faye for a long moment, both with eyes wide open. Then, all of a sudden, Ducan's father grabbed his son into a bone-crushing hug and yelled out, "Ducan! You have found the perfect jewel to marry! This has got to be the best thing you have ever done! Damn, you are lucky!"
Lydia was overjoyed at the prospect of having biological grandchildren.
"And you! Come here, you!" Johnny gave Faye another hug, this time holding him to his chest for a good thirty seconds before Ducan pulled him off.
"I love this new family!" he declared, pouring himself more wine."

"See, Ducan? All worried over nothing." Faye commented after he was embraced and praised. He kissed Ducan's cheek, stroking his leg: "Your parents are so cool!" he whispered in the shell of his ear.
"We are so glad that you two are excited as we are!" Rachel smiled, sipping her wine. "Yes, usually people faint or excuse themselves from our presence when we tell them." Kikyo included, polishing off the bread: "Johnny my good man! A toast perhaps to all the future grandchildren?" "Yes, I want at least five." Faye smiled.

Ducan laughed. "Five? We are going to need a bigger house." He scratched Lance behind the ears as he spoke.
"To future grandchildren!" both sets of parents declared.
"I'm starving," Johnny said, "What are we having?"
"Faye cooked up some pasta, if you're ready to eat." Ducan got up and motioned for everyone to get into the living room. He walked into the kitchen and poured more wine for everyone and set them on the table. "Take a seat, everybody."

Once they were all settled, eating and drinking happily, Rachel poked her son and said: "Are you really not moving in with Ducan, Hunna?"
Faye stopped slurping his noodles. He wiped his mouth of tomato sauce and said: "We're not married yet, Mom. Besides, I was thinking of starting my bakery..." "REALLY?!" she gleamed, hugging him: "Its about time! Your town needs more bakerys! Isn't, Kikyo, isn't it a good idea?" "Yes, love. Its a great idea. Its hard to deny Hunna's cooking." she smiled over her wine glass. "I'm glad you two approve."
Faye honestly wanted to make enough money so he didn't have to depend on Ducan. Once they were married, with kids, it would be needed.

"So, have you set a date for the wedding day yet?" Lydia asked. She complimented Faye on his delicious cooking. At least she knew her Ducan wouldn't go hungry, and Kevin would certainly be invited often for family meals.
"Actually, not yet," Ducan put his arm around Faye, sipping his red wine, "I was concentrating mostly on proposing first, so I didn't really have time to think of the rest. The first step is always the most nerve-wrecking."

Lacing his hand with Ducan's that draped over his shoulder, Faye raised an eyebrow: "You got nervous proposing to me?" the baker questioned. He didn't quite understand why. The writer had serious courage, though the thought that he could make Ducan nervous delighted him: "Why, love? Afraid I was going to say no?"

"No," Ducan replied haughtily, "It's just... one just naturally gets nervous in these kinds of situations."
He sipped his wine so he need not say more. Unfortunately, his father had to butt in with: "Ha! Ducan m'boy, when I proposed to your mother, I had every confidence in the world that she would say yes! I mean, why wouldn't she?"
He didn't see his wife rolling her eyes beside him discreetly, which was probably a good thing.
Ducan merely sighed and said, "Yes well, we don't all have your fearless and tiny nervous system, Father."

"Agreed, John. When I purposed to my Rach, I had my head high and showed no fear!" preached Kikyo before grabbing another bread stick. "Really now?" Rachel commented, looking up at the ceiling and tapping her chin: "I remember you passing out..."
Of course, Kikyo shot a death glare at her wife, who just smiled kindly. Faye giggled at the displays before him. He then stood to collect dirty plates:
"Anybody up for dessert?" Faye asked taking four plates and two wine glasses.
