Before their conversation about the creepiness of the town could progress, as well as the talk of the wonders of living in a town with many delicious smells and sometimes overwhelming sounds, a beastly Pokemon appeared. Radium initiated her Helping Hand attack, seemingly more on purpose this time, even if she still didn't quite understand what or how she was doing it, and watched as her team mates laid the smack down on the ghost. However, it wasn't enough... unlike the Sableye this one was still standing. "Kinda ironic to say a ghost still has some life in it." Radium stated with a grin. "Okay my turn this time!" She announced. Rushing forward she took a wild leap into the air and came down on the ghost with a electrified fist, right smack dab into the ghost's third-eye. It looked startled, but not yet finished, meaning one more hit might end up doing the trick.

One attack after another, the group of knightly adventurers managed to sock-it to the dastardly beast known as Gengar. Even if it wasn't an ordinary run of the mill Gengar, being mega, the beast stood no chance against their teamwork. "Aye, nice move, Dune!" Daphnes called after watching the Dunsparce take to the air and make some use of it's drill. So those wings weren't just for show... How we wished he had some wings of his own... soon, soon he will. This of course meant the next floor was opened to the team, so Daphnes started to make his way towards the Stairs, finding at his side as if not missing a beat was Valoo. "Oofda, that Gengar was certainly something. Good to see you folks can really hold your own." Valoo praised, waving his hands wide.

Allure had to think upon Noah's question. More so to attempt at translating what entirely he'd said, but the dragon gained a gist of what was being asked. "Well.." She thought, arching her head. "About all I can assume is that they were meant to... buy time?" She thought. "Or perhaps, those guardians were in fact test dummies... in the way that Darkrai was making them stronger and stronger as to gauge our power. Perhaps he sorely misjudged us if that were the case." She finished. After all the last guardian only gave them trouble because it was merely the two of them, if the whole team had been as one... or just a bit more organized they could of vanquished the Hypno with ease.
Thinking on this however, the dragon's gaze lifted when a familiar taste touched her tongue. Raf was just ahead of them, Luna not far off. Argo, perhaps in the air the dragon didn't waste the effort to look up, she could taste him too. "Now who is the on-" The dragon cut her snarky remark short when in the distance she saw a shadow lift from the town's street. It quickly formed into a grinning ghost with three eyes. "That was certainly quick." The dragon mused, stepped forward to engage the ghost. As other's emerged and quickly began being drawn into battle, there was no mistake.. this was their next guardian. So why give it a chance to attack? "The next guardian to block our path." A statement not entirely needed, but enough of a heads up to Allure's oncoming attack, that being Dragon Pulse... which seemed to be her go-to attack since learning it.

☆ ☆【Piper listened intently to the conversation around her as they discussed what human towns and cities were like, smiling as Radium brought up all the different good smells of food that always seemed plentiful in a busy town. The Noivern certainly agreed with that notion, even though she hadn’t been in Alola for very long after her run-in with Zoey she had to admit that she was growing fond of the delicious aromas the malasada shops gave off. They certainly didn’t have anything quite like them back in Kalos, or even Hoenn for that matter, for all she knew they were probably exclusive only to Alola for the most part. The sweet ones that were filled with delectable, juicy fruit were quickly becoming one of her favorite treats, she hoped they would go to another one of those nice little shops soon after she got out of this dream world. She briefly wondered if any of her companions were familiar with Alola, but figured she could save that question for later. One of Piper’s ears perked in interest as Ai chipped in, saying that the best she could say of cities were mainly the florists. The Noivern quite enjoyed the scent of flowers too… Lilacs and lavender were admittedly some of her favorite aromatic flowers, probably because she often associated them with her time spent with Irene. Those plants tended to dominate the old woman’s garden when it came to be springtime, their purple flowers always looked so pretty and had a nice, soothing, gentle scent about them. Irene often harvested lavender and used the flowers to decorate desserts, or made a syrup out of them that she’d use in sweets and drinks, and she admittedly made a mean lavender lemonade that was a nice little summertime treat.
However, the conversation hardly lasted for much longer as Piper sensed danger encroaching on them, shadows jumping out at them as they stepped into the town square and surrounding them. From out of the shadows rose the menacing figure of a Gengar, though this one seemed quite different from the ones that the Noivern had seen before… The third eye and the extraneous spikes that covered its body threw her for a bit of a loop, but… she vaguely recalled hearing how some Pokemon were capable of something called Mega Evolution. The thought that this could be a Mega Gengar of all things both intrigued and horrified her, she hadn’t seen many before but she’d heard stories about their terrifying abilities and what they were capable of on the battlefield. Still, it seemed the only way they would be able to escape this darkness surrounding them and progress onwards was to defeat the ghost, which she felt quite confident about. Mega evolved or not, they clearly had it very well outnumbered even if it was much stronger and tougher than the previous guardians they’d fought. With an empowering shower of sparks and an encouraging remark from Radium, the team spurred into action immediately. Taking to the air, Piper sent a flurry of powerful wind gusts at their foe while being extra careful to not get her teammates caught up in it, smacking and battering it about from all directions. One by one the others joined in, assaulting the Gengar with blows from all sides and not giving it much room to recover, Ai warning them to be careful as she used Psychic to hold the guardian in place.
With a pained groan, the Mega Gengar mustered up the energy to glare and snarl at them, still standing, just barely, even after being absolutely hammered. However, for all its attempt at bravado and determination its eyes held a clear look of regret, as if it was only now just realizing the full gravity of its mistake trying to take on such a large and powerful group on its own. Piper chuckled softly at Radium’s statement, the Pichu darting forth and making a grand leap through the air as she punched it right in the third eye with an electrified fist. Startled and very much weakened, the Mega Gengar flailed about in an attempt to break free from Ai’s telekinetic hold so it could try and make a break for it. ”L-Leave it to me!” Piper called out, angling her wings and diving in towards it at high speed. Rotating her body in a drill-like fashion as she quickly approached, the Gengar was so focused on trying to escape its psychic grapple that it didn’t notice the incoming Noivern missile until it was far too late to even attempt a dodge. The dragon crashed full force into the ghost, knocking it back and away as she used the leftover momentum to bank back around and rejoin with her teammates. The Gengar’s limp body exploded in a burst of dark smoke the moment it hit the ground, the darkness around them vanishing only moments after the defeated guardian did. All around them, other shadowy blurs could be seen as other groups dealt with their own Gengars, dozens more popping out from the shadows as other groups began pushing into the square. ”C-C’mon, we should g-go before more sh-show up,” Piper spoke up as she carefully came in to land next to her friends, gesturing towards the now cleared path to the stairs. As soon as everyone was prepared to get going she would move along with them, making a beeline for the stairs and starting to climb them to the next floor. That particular section seemed surprisingly short for some reason… could that be a sign that they were potentially getting closer to Darkrai? How many more floors were there that they still had to go through from here? The Noivern hoped that whatever awaited them next would hopefully be the final obstacle they’d have to pass through to be able to return to the real world, they couldn’t be that much further from the end, right?】☆ ☆

☆ ☆【One by one, their team laid the hurt down on the grinning, ghastly fiend again and again and again, not even giving it a chance to try and fight back. The Gengar was smacked around by headbutts, pummeled by heavy fists and large rocks, and slashed with sharp leaves, yet for all they threw at it the ghost was still stubbornly hanging on even as the remnants of Chickpea’s Razor Leaf attack still stuck out from its form where the projectiles had embedded themselves. Snarling in hurt and frustration, the Mega Gengar fixated them with all three of its eyes, intending to at least get in a weakening blow on at least one of them before it was ultimately taken down. However, what the ghost hadn’t expected was for the Dunsparce to suddenly fly right overhead of it, angling himself and diving right at it with the drill tip of his tail angled to strike. The Gengar toppled to the ground as Dune’s attack hit right home, its body seeming to sink right into the shadows as it vanished seemingly for good. The moment the Gengar was defeated, the shadows around them retreated in kind, opening up the path for them to proceed onwards towards the stairs.
”Gooooood joooooob~” Mogwai praised happily alongside Daphnes, quite delighted by Dune’s rather impressive finisher. The Dunsparce seemed to be quite the capable flyer, in a way the Bewear wondered what it would be like if he was able to fly himself. Then again, with how large and furry he was, his body certainly wasn’t built to really be aerodynamic. It was a nice thought, though… ”Chiiiiiickpeeeeaaaa neeeeeed caaaaarryyyyyy?” the Bewear inquired towards the Chikorita as they began heading for the stairs, keeping pace alongside Daphnes as he moved with them. Getting to the stairs would be a bit more slow-going, not that Mogwai really minded since he’d already done quite a bit of running, though he was still wary of another one of those ghosts appearing to try and block their way. Still, seeing as the Gengar were much more preoccupied with the groups that were still coming into the heart of town, it might be safe to assume that they were in the clear for the most part. He glanced over as Valoo fell in step with them, commenting on the fight against the Gengar and remarking that it was good to see they were capable of holding their own. ”Vaaaaalooooo oooookaaaaaayyyyy?” Mogwai asked with a hint of concern, recalling that the Charmander had been pulled into a fight against a separate ghost from them. He didn’t seem to have sustained any injuries, not from what the Bewear could see at least… still, with how tough that fight was it seemed like the best idea to check in with their new companion even though they hadn’t known Valoo for that long.】☆ ☆

☆ ☆【Seeing that wide, bright smile on Daiki’s face as she played along with his flirtatious remarks was admittedly quite infectious, and Fianna’s own grin widened to mirror his in kind. The Zoroark was admittedly quite cute when he was happy like that, not that the Braixen would willingly say that aloud. She chuckled as he warned her not to tempt him to throw himself down in battle, feeling her cheeks grow a touch warmer than usual as he winked slyly at her. ”Oh goodness no,” she reciprocated, making a show of pressing a hand against her chest as if she was about to faint, ”I think you just might make my poor little heart die of worry if you did that!” A light laugh escaped her as she stopped the theatrics shortly after, her eyes bright with amusement as she playfully bumped him with her tail. In spite of earlier first impressions, Daiki was starting to grow on Fianna more and more as they continued traveling and fighting together as a group, it was quite fun to play along with his mischief, and she found herself becoming more accepting of his playfully flirtatious attitude as well. It seemed almost a shame that they had such limited time to spend while there was still much of their journey through this dream world to go through… though perhaps they might eventually be able to meet again sometime after they return to the real world. And hopefully it would be under much better circumstances than this. However, the playful air of their conversation only lasted for a few more fleeting moments, the fire fox listening closely as the Zoroark mentioned that he was still figuring some things out when it came to fighting. She was more than happy to offer encouragement in return, smiling warmly and nodding at his remark that he’d surely get more than better if someone like her believed in him.
Moments later, she and Daiki briefly broke off from the group to do a bit of searching among the buildings and try to find anything useful or of particular note. Of course, given how empty this place was overall, Fianna hadn’t expected to really find much of anything. To her surprise, though, she did find a couple of things that might be useful, though probably not exactly in this place. Reconvening with the group after stowing away her findings, the Braixen glanced over as Daiki returned with an… unexpected companion in tow. She tilted her head curiously as she eyed the oddly colored Medicham who was now accompanying him, noting the confused expression on Daiki’s face as he mentioned that the building he’d checked turned out to not be entirely empty. ”So it would seem…” she murmured, blinking a bit at the Medicham’s remark about not appreciating their encounter but stating that he would come along with them, ”I… think for everyone’s sakes I won’t ask what exactly happened with you two.” Apparently whatever had happened didn’t exactly introduce the both of them on the best terms, she was honestly a bit surprised the Medicham was still willing to come with them in spite of it but she wasn’t about to say no to more company. She dipped her head politely in kind as their apparent new companion bowed to them in greeting, turning to keep moving ahead with the group. ”Well, to be fair what I found wasn’t really all that useful… at least not for this particular situation. So as far as I’m concerned, another Pokemon to come with us is definitely leagues better in comparison,” she spoke up with a light chuckle and a nod to Daiki in response to his remark, unable to help but smirk a bit as she caught the Medicham’s hard look directed at the Zoroark out of the corner of her eye.
However, the lighthearted atmosphere around their party hardly lasted long as they approached the darkened town square, the group immediately finding themselves surrounded by darkness as the grinning visage of a Gengar revealed itself to them as it rose up from the shadows. Upon seeing its appearance in full, Fianna immediately became wary, noting that it was a Mega evolved variant in particular, much stronger and more dangerous compared to its regular counterpart. Still, in spite of the threat before them, the Braixen felt confident that they could deal with this fiend quite easily, even if it was tougher and stronger they had teamwork and numbers on their side. Deciding now was as good a time to use that new move she’d learned, Fianna let loose what looked like a shooting star to soar above her party, the mini comet showering down motes of positive energy onto her teammates and infusing them with strength and vigor. One by one they rushed forth, Xiao Lan snapping at the Gengar with some nasty Bites, Daiki raking it across the face with a pair of Night Slashes, and Shade pinning it down with those silvery spirit arrows before smacking into it with a Knock Off. In spite of being almost constantly hammered by blow after blow, the Gengar was still standing as it cackled menacingly at them in return. Being a Mega, of course, she had expected it to not go down that easily… Still, it was clearly struggling to hold itself up, even though the barrage hadn’t been enough to knock it out it had still weakened it quite a bit. Standing determinedly, Fianna swept her hand out as she summoned yet another miniature comet, instilling power and resolve into her teammates once more as she willed it to fly above them. ”Hit it up again, guys! Quickly!” she called out to them, hoping to finish it off before it saw an opportunity to get in a counterstrike. Her gaze focused on her teammates as the Wish faded out once more, her eyes alternating primarily between Xiao Lan to make sure the little bat was staying safe and Daiki to check on how he was handling himself.】☆ ☆

Ai nodded as Piper suggested they get moving once the gengar faded away. No need to say that twice- the place was still full of menacing shadows. She ran for the stairs, using a bit of psychic on Vivace's shell to keep her comfy. Ai paused after they had climbed a ways, looking out over the ghostly town. The edges fell into shadows in the distance. Still, the place seemed bigger than it had taken them to walk through it. "I wonder how much farther it is," she murmured. Ai shook her head, then hurried up so she and Vivace wouldn't be left behind.
"That shadow was much stronger than the others," she said once the group was together. "Though we took it out easily again." She smirked. It wasn't good to get overconfident, but Ai was pretty pleased with how well everyone worked together. Was it okay to be proud of her new friends? Because she was. "Darkrai is in for a rude awakening."

Dune felt his attack connect, drilling into the gengar. It dissolved into shadow under him without absorbing nearly enough of the drill's momentum. The poor dunsparce kept going, drilling straight into the ground through the pool of shadow. And now he was stuck in a small, Dune-shaped hole.
He heard, distantly, praise from Mogwai and Daphne. A little wriggling didn't help at all. With a sigh, he started up his drill again and disappeared into the ground. A moment later he popped out and flopped onto the cobblestones. Quickly shaking the rocks and dirt off, he flapped his wings and hurried up to the stairs. "Wh-what did you do, Chick-pea? With the- the smell?"

Daiki, much like his previous battle, seemed more like a wild, crazed beast while fighting the gengar. He hadn't done any talking since the fight started, and only after his second volley of attacks did he collapse on the ground. While Medicham had had plenty of opportunities to jump in and help, he simply continued to watch. It wasn't like they needed his help at all, really. To be honest, the display that Daiki had been putting on was rather interesting, and he hadn't wanted to intervene. Even when the Zoroark collapsed to the ground. "Quit being so dramatic." the starry medicham stated, walking over and flicking Daiki's ear. The Zoroark swiped his claws up at the fighting type to swat him away, rising with an aggravated and tired expression on his face. "Don't." Daiki snarled, baring his teeth. The medicham folded his arm over his chest. "Hm. Like I said, you require more focus. Going in full throttle is going to just get you and everyone else hurt." he commented, then started to move forward only once the gengar had been vanquished. Daiki's nose scrunched up as he watched he Medicham walk ahead. "Oh yeah? Well I didn't see you helping at all." the zoroark grumbled, brushing himself off.

Unlike the past few fights, Chickpea had a passenger to consider, and one whose fighting capabilities he had no idea about; so he would keep her close. To do so, he made use of moves that wouldn’t require him to get close to the enemy, and that included a cool new move that he hadn’t even known about before! It was nice, and even Natu made a sound of approval, but what he found really cool was Dune’s attack, the attack that took the pokemon out for good! “Oh wooooah,” he breathed, mouth hanging agape. “That’s your friend?” Natu asked, curious. “Well, they’re all my friends,” he explained. “But Dune’s my best friend!”
With the battle officially concluded, and yet another staircase open to them, Chickpea was more than ready to continue on. “Yes please!” He definitely wouldn’t turn down being carried again, it was just so much easier than trying to maneuver up the stairs by himself. Once he was in Sir Mogwai’s arms, and Natu had temporarily relocated to the bear’s head, Chickpea looked down at Dune. “Uhmm...” That was a good question, what exactly had he used? It had just come... naturally to him! Had his lucky mushroom struck again? “I don’t know! But, it was nice, right? I can do it again, if you like.” He, probably, had it down-pact by now!

With one last, airborne, attack from Piper the road was cleared and the group was free to move on ahead. Vivace gave a small smattering of applause to show her approval, then allowed it to die away as Ai began climbing the stairs. A bit of psychic energy keeping her glued to the Espeon’s back, she kept from wiggling too much even if the weight was uncomfortable. “We’ll smack him back into whatever dark hole he crawled out of,” she remarked heartily, adding onto Ai’s comment. Remembering something, Vivace twisted herself around to stare at Piper. “We got interrupted before I could answer, but I stayed away from cities and towns when I first started out. They were too big to explore,” she explained. It wasn’t because she’d been intimidated by the idea of entering such a densely, human, populated area. She didn’t get scared! By anything.
