You know, this is kinda weird.
I'm a guy, and I like yaoi. I like yuri too. But, whenever I am on a yaoi board or forum or community, or wherever I happen to be, people normally refer to me as a "she." I know they do this because most yaoi fans are female, so they assume I am as well.
But, man, it bugs me! I'm uber touchy when it comes to that. I always feel like I have to defend my masculinity, which I don't get either. When guys normally have to do that, it's because they don't want to be seen as gay, or are trying to hide being gay.
But, I'm very openly bisexual. So, I don't know why I do that. I guess I'm just weird. o.o

And defending your masculinity doesn't just mean you're trying to show you're straight. It's like taking back your man card when your girlfriend has you whiped, or acting a little less flamboyant. People of both sexualities (thats definitely not a word but I'm in a rush here) have the need to defend their gender roles. Like when a tomboy wants to get dressed up occasionally to assert to everyone that yes, she does have boobs. mad Or when people keep a percentage of how flmaboyant you are...
