It was a good thing Dune didn't know mega pokemon were a thing. Otherwise his wings might've locked up before he even got off the ground. As it was, his determination to fight with his friends strengthened his resolve. He felt almost calm in some moments, when it was just the sounds of battle and wind whistling around his ears.
But this enemy was much stronger than the others they'd faced, and even with Chickpea's weird encouragement it was still standing strong. Shadows flickered from its body, slapping and slicing the stones dune sent pelting its way. But as his his teammates battered the gengar from the ground, Dune saw an opening. With a heavy flap, he flew directly over the guardian. For a moment he looked straight down, through the eye of the storm of shadows. Then he was diving, tail aglow. He pivoted, pointing the drill at the enemy, and folded in his wings.

Ai doubted she'd ever really say a town smelled 'good', but she certainly preferred it to the more chemical scent that much of her evee-hood had been spent in. She agreed though- she did enjoy the scent of food. "I think the best I could say of cities is when you pass a florists'," she said without thinking. For some reason, she had a really positive association with flowers and...flower bouquets and... oh. They reminded her of Arezu, and their first meeting. Her pokeball, placed in an aromatic bouquet, had been filled with the scent of flowers. She recalled it being unpleasantly overpowering at the time.
It was surprisingly fast that they found themselves stepping into an area littered with blurry shadows. A few others were already there and fighting. Ai crouched down as Piper soared into the air, keeping close to Radium. The espeon's eyes shown with psychic power as she took in the mega gengar- a warning about gengar's cursed body ability replaced by a breathed- "A mega pokemon." Louder, she called out, "This one is dangerous, be careful!" Ai seized the gengar's legs with psychic and lifted them from the ground to prevent it from running into the shadows while Piper, Dotty and Vivace's attacks crashed into it.

Noah shook off the uneasy shiver that ran the course of his spine as they maneuvered through the lonely town with no other life about. It was so weird going from floor to floor, encountering these different sceneries that were just straight out of a nightmare. It didn't make much sense to him and the sooner he got back to Lafayette, the better. Had the man even noticed he was missing yet? That was a brief thought that did come to mind, but left just as quickly.
"I'd hope so, sheila," The Dewott remarked off handily. He even seemed to make a bit of a face at the thought, before turning to look back at Allure once more. "Wha' yeh reckon these guardies ah' for, Luro? Ain' like they been all tha' tough," his arms folded over his chest, "plus tha' pink pokie ain' shown up in a while. Yeh think this all jus' a big ol' trick?"
