I find it funny you guys think it was gonna explode.

     True, but I wouldn't like to make a habit of checking a grenade to see if it is armed or not before dealing with it.

Look for the pin. It was still in.

     Yeah, the few seconds it'd take to check...
not time that can be spared if you don't know anything about who threw it and how long they held it before hand.
