Shinsua Minty: That guy's just as bad!
Dana: Well, he works out, at the very least. > _ <;
Haku: Aww. That's the sweetest thing you've ever said about me~ ♥ You probably get all the virtual women; just like Mana and his "I have cute avatars" angle.

Yes there is.
By social standards, geeks are cooler than nerds because they have cool hobbies. Meaning, they have cool computers for playing online video games, they're into comic books, etc.
Nerds just have pocket protectors, wrist watch calculators, and they get a woody for math and science and spewing out boring facts about them while not having the same cool interest as geeks or even dressing as cool as geeks do.

Your source for these so-called social standards?

Ryn: Nothin' really light to wear at all, or nothing clean? Go jump in the hamper and see if there's anything that's not as dirty as you thought it was! Edit: Also, I agree with your smexiness. 3nodding
Haku: There may be nothing denotative, but there certainly is connotative difference.

Plus, I cite Big Bang Theory into evidence.

Haruhi000777 Sugar: Anyone and everyone would agree. Plus, I cite Big Bang Theory into evidence. Please don't. There's a difference between a show about perceived nerds / geeks / dorks, and a show about various college students with truly disturbing social diseases.
