Blushing a little Chione released him from her embrace, taking his hand. "Yes, the sun is beginning to set." She noted, then realized that they wouldn't make it there before night fell. "Bomani...do you think we can find your family?" She asked, out of curiosity.

"There is a very remote possibility, but yes." Bomani said as they continued to walk. He looked over at the sun for a moment. They would never make it before it went down, but as long as they found a relatively sheltered area, they could keep themselves warm with each other's body heat.
[Think we should meet them on the way?]

"Hm." Chione thought, wondering what it would be like to meet his family. "That...might be fun." She chuckled, continuing to walk. In the distance a small oasis could be seen, though it was some ways away.
((Sure, because it could go either way.))

[Well, what do you mean? As in they follow the caravan as part of Bomani's family, or they part ways? Also, cos this would help my decision: is Chione's father dead, and is anyone going to come find them?]

"We need to make it there before it's too dark to see." he stated simply.

((Hmm...well, Chione's father isn't dead...yet. Someone will be sent to find them eventually. Also, I think they would follow the caravan.))
Chione smiled, then let go of his hand. "Let's race." She said, then ran off. She knew that she would lose, but she wanted to brighten up the mood a little, to bring back the mood of their relationship before.
((Sorry, relatives are bothering me.))

[Following the caravan would make it hard for someone to find them. It might be ages before Chione is reunited with her father, is that what you're going for?]

Bomani laughed softly, then followed her, running at about the same pace. He had a bit of a plan, letting her run and stay ahead until they neared the oasis, then pulling ahead and hugging her, taking her down to the sand when they arrived.

Chione looked back every now and then, running until she was close and then dropping her pack. Laughing all the way she turned to look back at him, ready to claim victory.

Bomani picked up the pace when she got close, and when she turned back he smiled, slowing down so that he wouldn't bowl her over. He hugged her and they both fell to the sand. He turned so that they landed on their side: no one would get hurt, and the pack wouldn't get damaged.
He smiled at her.
"You win." he whispered.

Chione gasped when she felt him take hold of her, not expecting him to take her own. Laughing she tapped him on the nose like before. "In all honesty, maybe you have won." She laughed, moving closer to him. It felt cooler here, and she was relieved that they had found a place to rest.

"Maybe." Bomani said, taking off his pack. He put it aside and smiled at her, hugging her close. He kissed her softly on the cheek, then looked around. A large rock jutted out of the sand on the windward side of the oasis, and it would provide them with shelter for the night.

Nuzzling in response Chione smiled, moving a little in his embrace. "You know, I thank the gods I met you." She admitted. "If things had happened differently, I don't know where I would be now." She kissed him lightly like before they were interrupted at the palace, feeling better.

"I pray every day, thanking the Gods for giving you to me." Bomani said, smiling at her. It was true...some prayers were said silently, though he did skip a few days here and there.
"It was torture, for the first little while...always being near you...always being your protector, wishing I could be more...All I wanted was to touch you, kiss you, hold you...I got more than I wanted and more."

Chione was surprised, but showed only a little of it. "I did feel a little...attracted to you. But, we were friends, so I didn't think it was wise to say anything. After all, we were who we were." She murmured, brushing her fingers through his hair. "When did you start liking me?" She asked, hoping that she wasn't asking too much.

Bomani smiled. "I started to like you almost as soon as I met you. We started to talk a little, and I learned how great of a person you are. And then you smiled at me and tapped me on the nose...and I found that so incredibly endearing that I knew I was falling in love." he explained, smiling softly at her.

Bringing a hand to gently hold his face. "That's funny, especially when others found that annoying." Chione laughed, giving him a small peck on the cheek. "To be honest, I continued to tap you on the nose to see how long you could stand it." She began, remembering the games she would play because she had nothing else to do. "But, you never became infuriated with me..." Her voice became soft as she looked into his eyes, becoming lost in them soon after.
