Amy laughed. "And it's not like you'd need a menu, anyway. I'm sure you know all that's on your menu."

Amy turned and glanced back at the statue as well, the one she knew Velcore stood beside. "Oh... I was hoping he'd be here, too. I'm sure it'd be good for Thistle to see him, too...."

She frowned slightly as she thought of Thistle. Even the new arrival of Zephit didn't phase her. She was still unresponsive and sullen.

She turned back and smiled slightly at Karrie. "Well, maybe another time. Also, Karrie, would it be alright if I kept up the garden around your house that I started? I'd hate to see it die."

Amy nodded to Karrie saying where Velcore might be. And when he asked about Thistle, she frowned slightly again. Before she responded, though, she spoke about the garden first.

"Thank you, Karrie. That means a lot to me. I'll probably come over every other day early in the afternoon to take are of it until the first frost. And thank you for watering them, Karrie. I'm lucky in that I can take a huge bucket of water out and then just use my magic to make the water go out of the bucket and then all over the plants and flowers."

Then, Amy took a drink of water, sighed, put her glass back down, and leaned back in her chair. "Thistle... Well, I'm not going to sugar coat it. She's not good. I've tried everything I can think of to cheer her up, but she's not talking and she hasn't left the house all week. She just lies in my bed and sleeps or stares at the walls. Not hearing her squeak all week is just. It's very unnerving. Even when we got a new house guest, which should have thrilled her, didn't even phase her."

Amy couldn't help but giggle at Karrie's comment about the hose. "That's a good point. I guess I never thought about using the hose."

Amy grew serious once more at hearing Karrie's offer, considered it for a moment as she stared at him, and then nodded. "It might. You never got to talk to her about this. Maybe it would help hearing it from you? Heck, it might just help to see you so that maybe she knows you haven't left her for good. I just don't know. I'm at a complete loss in this case. It... It kind of scares me, Karrie. I just can't help her. I've always been able to help her before."

Amy nodded. "Yes, she is. Velcore was right with what he said. She's a baby. She doesn't know how to react right now. When would you like to come over, Karrie?"

She took a bite of her chicken and closed her eyes briefly. It tasted wonderful. After she swallowed, she said softly, "Wow..."

Amy sighed in contentment and nodded. "I definitely do. It tastes even better than when you made it for me last... which I guess accounts for the new sauce. It's very good, Karrie. Maybe you should feature it for a week or something. It would be very popular, I'm sure."

At Karrie saying he forgot what he was working already, Amy laughed. "Oh Karrie... What happened to that day planner I got for you?"

For some reason, talking about a day planner reminded her of Zephit. "Oh! Speaking of you coming over, Karrie, I also want to let you know that there's a new person living at my house. I want you to hear it from me rather than someone else. It's a male neko, actually. He's been a cat for most of his life. He's very interesting and fun to be around. I met him last Sunday... I know it seems soon, but... Karrie, he had no place to go! He was just living outside. Now that he's a human, he's trying to learn everything he can. He needs to know how to take care of and live on his own eventually. I wanted to help him with that. Plus, I just couldn't leave him to live outside. I just couldn't."

Amy nodded. "I know, and I know it's odd, but.... Karrie, how could I just let him live outside on his own? I wouldn't feel right. I wouldn't feel right knowing that I had extra room in my house and just let him stay on the street. Sure I lived that way for awhile, but it was my choice. And I really think I'll be okay. I can use my magic to protect myself."

Amy smiled softly and then, after some consideration, she reached forward and rested her hand on top of Karrie's for a brief moment. "Thank you, Karrie. It's nice that you're concerned... concerned about me and about Thistle."

She took her hand back and then tilted her head to the side. "When you come over to see Thistle, I'll try to make sure Zephit is there so you can meet him."
