Crystal's eyes blue as they were one could see the ice that hid in the depths of that water and the warmth that she held in the liquid therein. "Izo became quite a dangerous man after Kaori died. I know he probably blamed Aki for her death. Maybe he even thought that he murdered her. The greatest rivals born out of the greatest hatred. So, now you know why Izo was hell bent to destroy Aki's Empire. And Aki so exuberant to protect it. Even though, I can't condone the man that Izo has become."
"Not many can do that...Takagi-kun." She looked at her hands as if thinking upon that, "I don't know what happened to your son. I'm not sure I want to know. Izo never could sing but he always had the ear for music. He wanted to created the greatest star that would burn brightest in the heavens. I wonder...." But she didn't continue her thoughts because she didn't have enough knowledge to formulate the truth.
"Yes, I pity him but if he's anything like his father, he's a fighter too." She walked over and looked at the screen closely. "If I didn't see it for myself...Kaori's looks....Izo's eyes. He tried to hide his features, but he's devilishly handsome and graceful....Looks a lot like you, Akihiko-kun."
"I respect those words Akihiko-kun. It marks you for a man who has grown up beyond the constraints your grandfather wove around you. You're going to have to work hard to keep Ohayou from Izo's hands." She smiled softly at Akihiko knowing it would be tough on him to reach that high even as a star there was so much for him to learn.
"Revenge will just put you on the same path as Izo. And Akihiko-kun, in his eyes, you'll never equal Aki as his rival...none of you will. But don't think he'll underestimate you. He's too much of a competitor to do that." She pointed out and then added, "But, remember that eventually, Izo will announce his heir. If it is Katsumi, then be rest assured that the boy will be as strong as Izo and as fierce. Your rival will be in the next generation." ...as long as Matsumoto and Koyasu live.
"Yes, I have to agree...they both are to blame. You'll never find more star crossed rivals as Aki and Izo." she humbly admitted and wish that it could have been different.
When you bring Ohayou up and can face Izo like that, I'll be first to toast your accomplishment. But remember, the spider has a very dangerous web. You need to get control of your anger, Akihiko-kun. And realize that right now, you seem like a fly in his eyes. So...Rukuro and I will do our best to help you from our place on the Board. Izo still respects the Rivals of our generation and a few of us are still alive." She stepped away from the monitor and looking at her wrist watch knowing that her husband was probably conversing with several of them now.

(((OOC: I decided that Hiroki and Azriel have 007 theme songs, hehe. Hiroki's is "Die Another Day" while Azriel's is "The World Is Not Enough" I also think the song "The Experience of Love" which was the ending credits song for "Goldeneye" could apply to Yuuji... especially given his exploits with Michi and Shou both. Just depends on your definition of "loving"... "Surrender" which is the ending credits song for "Tomorrow Never Dies" makes me kinda think of Izo and his web or Aki and his pawns because the lyrics are playing off the movie premise of Carver writing news headlines before the news happens so it makes me think of their planning ahead. "Live and Let Die" is so totally Haru's theme song, hahaha!
I loaded all the Bond themes into my itunes so I've been listening to them a lot today. I want to rip a few of my soundtracks onto my laptop... man I wish I had my VCR... I have all the Bond movies on VHS but only Goldeneye, Casino Royale, and Quantum of Solace on DVD. Only reason I have Goldeneye on DVD is because I lost my VHS of it for a while (found it when moving though)... but the VCR and all my Bond tapes are in storage... most of them are recorded straight off the old TBS Bond Marathons that used to play around New Years every year, but I've got some old VHS from rental stores that I've picked up... and of course all the Brosnan ones bought as soon as they originally came out, hehe.
I may watch Quantum of Solace tonight... been trying to for a few days but I kept getting distracted by the Star Trek movie marathon on IFC. I need to move the DVD player in the living room into my bedroom though because the stupid PS2 doesn't want to read s**t for some reason. Guess I need to open it up and clean it again... -sigh-
But um yeah, original point of this OOC was that I'm trying to find different Bond songs for our different characters.)))
Azriel nodded slightly, "I suppose that is true... this is my first funeral to attend and certainly I can understand that feeling." he sighed softly, looking up at the ceiling. "Ah to be immortal..." "Hayato-san achieved immortality, Azriel-san. His music lives when he does not." Naoko spoke up, understanding that concept well. To leave a lasting mark on the world. Katsu smiled. "I do suppose you're right. He left a mark on the world through his music. A far better way to be remembered... There are so many who die without touching another heart in this world. One should be glad he had the chance to touch so many."
Yuuji stood from his chair, excusing himself in order to get a coffee refill. In truth, he hated to be reminded of Kaori's death... hated to think about the flames he'd fueled... So while his cousin was gone, Akihiko took the chance to speak privately with Crystal. His blue eyes focused on the woman and strangely, the young man smiled. "I enjoy a challenge... it means I've more to offer and that I just have to push myself higher. For a long time I was... complacent in my roll. Ohayou's star. But now there's something more that I can fight toward. And I know the fight will be hard... I know that if Azriel is Katsumi and if SMASH is left to him, then I'll have a rival who understands the music same as I. But until that happens, I will be focused on keeping this company safe from that web. Izo has never thought of me as anything more than a spoiled brat who's musical talents are his only worth. I'll prove him wrong." comfortable on the chaise, Akihiko leaned back, looking up at the ceiling. "Ojisan wanted so much of me... and I seem to have only disappointed him in the end. Perhaps this is my way of appeasing the dead... He maneuvered me perfectly... I'll learn to do the same... but unlike him, men won't suffer for the sake of victory." blue eyes flickered back to Crystal. "My anger is a problem, yes. I've a short fuse... I'm hot headed... I leap before I think... I'm used to bullying my way to whatever I want. I have to change that... but I've already changed so much..." he smiled, winking to the woman. "One step at a time, ne?"

What wouldn't I do for King and Country... Yes Sir!------------------------------------------------}:-
Asato Hiroki Chairman's Secretary - Ohayou Productions
The world has....changed
Deep in conversation with the Rivals of the Music Industry, Hiroki was very focused on what each individual was saying. He only felt slightly out of his comfort zone knowing that Aki wasn't there to back up his words but...he still had the man's knowledge about the business even if he wasn't as graceful as the older tiger had been.
During the lull, someone spoke to him and drew his attention but that same noise also drew the eyes of the other Chairmen he was conversing with. His dark eyes turned and focused on Nezumi with a polite smile, "Thank you, it is good to see you as well, Nezumi-san. I hope you had a happy holiday."
"Nezumi-san?" Matsumoto Izo said as he glanced just around the Elephant's broad shoulders. "Ah one of your managers. I see. Worked the Charity event right?"
Hiroki nodded, "Yes he was working backstage for that event organizing..." Hiroki didn't get a chance to finish when another spoke up.
"Oh? So this is one of your's Hiroki-san?" Goshiro added and moved just enough look the mousy man over with a scrutinizing eye. "Ah...nice shoes. I know that brand. A good fit usually."
"You would notice the shoes, Yukio. Next thing you'll be telling us is where he bought them." Ishi Rukuro laughed along with Nihon and Genki's Label Chairmen.
"Of course! Shoes are a good sign at how much the person cares for appearances." Goshiro said knowingly with a sly smile. The Hydra of Go Label was very fashionable. But today most of the men before Nez were dressed exceptionally well. Although Goshiro's comment caused a couple of them to peer down at their own feet. And a few other people near by obviously listening in on the conversation.
Matsumoto snickered, "Hiroki-san, well your manager had passed at least one of Goshiro-san's tests. But..." he glanced towards the temple and a frowned formed on his lips, "Gentlemen, I believe we should make our way inside. Time for me to pay my respects to a star I will dearly miss."
Hiroki wondered if it were the star or the money that Izo would miss the most. He really didn't have a chance to properly introduce the mousy manager to any of the men but Nez probably could figure out who was who considering his own position at Ohayou.
"So are we still going to all get together after Aki's funeral to talk business? asked Nihon's label chairmen.
"Yes... I'll send everyone the location once it's acquired. Nothing against you Hiroki-san but Aki sudden death surely wasn't the most graceful exit he's ever performed." Goshiro commented with slight roll of his eyes.
"I'm sure he never intended to leave the group so abruptly." Hiroki answered with a furrowed brow. Although the thought did disturb the Elephant of Ohayou. Aki just wasn't the type...to leave anything so undone. But then again, Death wasn't the type to treat anyone differently. "Ah...Nezumi-san you're free to go inside and sit anywhere you feel comfortable." His air was distant and very polite but considering the crowd that surround him, it was only appropriate. No one was letting down their guard.

"Aki expected too much from you and did a horrible job of communicating with you. Even though he was a master at manipulation, he didn't do so well when it came to family. I don't think you're a disappointment. You're young, spoiled and need to start thinking before you act but you've many good qualities. I wouldn't be happy if Ruki were with an idiot." she said with a sigh as she walked over and picked up her cup to finish the last of her coffee. "Ah...its' all gone.."
Setting it down, she seemed thoughtful about the future, "Mm....Izo has many more years at least if something doesn't happen to him. I believe that he'll groom Katsumi to take his place if he does go with blood as an heir. Katsumi is very young though so Izo might take his time. He's not father material but he knows what it takes to run Smash.
Crystal glanced up at the ceiling were Akihiko was gazing and bit her lip, "So hopefully, you can get your act together in that time. Hiroki-kun probably can run the company like a champ but he's not Aki. You'll have to keep an eye on him if he is seeing Katsumi. Izo won't be afraid to threaten Hiroki-kun if he's playing Katsumi as a pawn." That part worried her because Hiroki had been very much engineered by Aki to fit a certain mold. But it seemed like something had changed....she was curious to meet Matsumoto Katsumi and that might explain a few things. Was he as talented as Akihiko?
"Yes, one step at a time. But I think you can do it. Ruki will be here to help you." she smiled and walked over sitting on the edge of the chaise. "You're a naughty flirt just like me." She reached over and took Akihiko's hand then pulled him in for a warm motherly hug. "Things will get better for you. Oh...and if you ever do want to get married to Ruki, you know the US has several states now that allow it." she winked at the younger man keeping him close. Then she paused for a long moment and added softly, "Also...if you want to just let out some of those heavier feelings, it's ok. You don't need to hold everything inside Akihiko-kun. You've so many here that love you."

Laughing softly, Akihiko gazed at Crystal. "Really? I don't think he expected too much. I mean... yeah I can agree with a lack of communication skills between the two of us. He was never around to actually tell me what to do. I played music... started singing... then came the contract with Ohayou and the girls and the boys and the late nights. Asato had to clean up a LOT of messes and pay off a lot of people when I was younger. It was my way of acting out I guess. When it didn't get attention I started resenting ojisan and Asato both. Both of them expected me to take an interest in the business... but all I was interested in was making music and having fun. Ojisan expected me to follow in his footsteps. That's not too much to ask." he young tiger shrugged before smiling slightly. He pulled out his cell phone, sending Yuuji a text to bring the coffee pot and tray into the study... or at least send the butler to do it. "Izo being a father scares the hell out of me to be quite honest." Akihiko replied, thinking about the spider raising young. "How could he hide a child away this long? Where's Katsumi been? It worries me... I mean, they know what to expect from me for the most part... but what are we to expect from Katsumi? Is he like his father? Does he even know Izo's his father for that matter?" sighing, the musician couldn't help but look back up at the ceiling. "I grew up without a father... did Katsumi? But... well you're right, Crystal-san... If they're seeing each other... Izo holds the rope to Asato's own noose. We just freed Yuuji from that damn web... now we have to pull Asato out too? The spider has the power to take Katsumi away... and if Asato DOES feel for him... can he just let him go? Would he do what's right for the company and the people there... or would he seek his own happiness?" Akihiko shook his head, eyes closing as he thought on the entire situation. The young Koyasu felt the chaise move slightly, felt Crystal take his hand then pull him into a hug. For a long time, Narcissus didn't respond. She was right of course... he knew it. Holding everything in was hard. He'd been doing it for so long... throwing the mask of Narcissus up to pull back his true feelings. Business talk kept his mind off it... Ko-kun being in the house kept his mind off it... Izzy being sick kept his mind off it... Having Crystal and Rukuro here as guests kept his mind off it... "I wouldn't mind letting go some of those feelings... but I can't." Akihiko whispered, pulling back from the hug and smiling softly to the woman beside him. "If Ruki were to walk in... it would worry him. He has enough on his mind. Yuuji's got a full plate... hell he can't even be with his son because there's so much to do. I've already burdened them both with the display I put on last night... burdened Asato too." gently he rested his hands on Crystal's shoulders. "I'm fine, Crystal-san. I can't be anything but fine." At about that time the butler came in with the coffee tray which Yuuji had sent. The man explained that Takagi was getting something to eat before returning. A few moments later the butler left once more. Standing from the chaise, Akihiko took Crystal's cup and refilled it from the tray. "For a long time I thought no one loved me. That it was just for my music or my money or the popularity and privilege. Ruki was the first one who loved me for me, Crystal-san. I know that I'm surrounded by people who look past my monetary worth and love and care for the man I've become. But I won't cry in front of them again. Not about this. I'm sorry." he apologized, handing Crystal her coffee.

She shook her head, "Yes, he did. He magically thought you'd become the man he wanted you to be. He surely manipulated many things, my Ruki included but he could never capture your heart and soul for his own designs. He must have thought you were more shallow than you really were. He didn't understand love...sadly. And expecting you to follow in his footsteps and being willing to do so are two different things."
"But I must say I feel sorry for Hiroki-kun having to suffer your antics growing up. You've probably left quite an impression on the man." she scolded, "And now you have to work with him. I hope you are a better business partner than boy he had to babysit." Her finger wagged at Akihiko almost like Izzy...so that's where the manager the finger wag from.
"Izo as a father should scare you. It scared Izo so that must tell you what he thought about fatherhood. And who knows. I never saw that child at any events in my days. I feel sorry for the boy. I'm sure he has a load of problems. If he's anything like his music." She tapped her lip and was thoughtful about the situation, "Yes, I think that might be the case. Izo has a way of capturing pawns. So...as for Hirorki-kun and Katsumi...first figure out if he's seeing the young man, then, mm....maybe confront Katsumi? Izo? or both...mmm... That would be one way to handle it. Pointing out that you're aware and watching. Or...you could play a different game and make like you're unaware, keep an eye Hiroki-kun's work...etc. Or...another avenue is to talk to Hiroki-kun. But if he is in love, he might not be able to give clear answers. Mmm...Izo won't play his pawns so soon after Aki's death with this contract. But you know eventually at the end of the year, he will start up again."
She let Akhiko go after that hug and nodded slowly, "Well...I'm here if you want to talk, let go...or cry. And Ruki is stronger than you think even if he's a worry wart."
Crystal watched as the butler came and went. She actually wondered what the butler felt about all the things happening around him. That man had lived through many years of Aki, Hiroki, Akihiko....he knew so much. As the man left she watched as Akihiko poured the coffee.
"You say that now." she took the coffee, "But remember, you're only human. Keep that in mind and choose your moment before the moment chooses you."
