if not, then how about this:
if we leave a room with nothing but a table in it, how do we know if that table disappeared or not?

As for how we know that the table is still there, we don't. you're getting into, Erwin Schrödinger territory there. And the obvious answer is, the room both has the table there, and the table has disappeared at the same time. until we check it exists and doesn't exist at the same time. What's the issue? intellectual people will say that if nothing happens in the room, the table is still there. However, if something happens to the room, or there is the chance that something happens in the room, then the table's existence is in doubt. Therefore, the table most certainly existed, though it's current existence is most likely within the room yet there are the possibilities that it does not exist in the room anymore. Don't try to talk psychology with me.
