“I don't want to achieve immortality through my work. I want to achieve it through not dying.”

The phone was buzzing beside his head where he had let it fall. Reaching up, Ryu looked at the name flashing across the screen of the device before answering it, his voice sounding a bit strained from the pain he woke up in.
"Nakai..." Ryu rasped before clearing his throat, "Gomen, Nakai, I had dozed off. You still up for coming over?"

The letter from Sai was clutched tightly in Naoko's left hand. He sat in the car, his chauffeur driving as quickly as the speed limit and traffic would allow.
So very soon... he was finally going to see the very man that he had been searching for...

There are a lot of things about myself that I hate.
Usually those in the public eye don't think that way... at least not the ones I know. They love every bit of themselves, and if there's something they dislike, they get rid of it.
But I couldn't do that.
Not even for my own brother.
Three years ago was when it had all started.
I was younger then, perhaps more naive, but certainly still a competent musician in my own right. I had just joined a band known at the time as 'Hikari Ya Yami' and became the group's leading composer and pianist. One night after a particularly grueling gig, wherein two of our members were fighting like cats and dogs, the vocalist, Hayato, and myself decided to leave the rest of the band to fend for themselves and went out on the town.
Little did I know that this simple act would forever change my life... and so many things about me.
At the time, I wasn't passionate about music. It was just something I did... something to pass the time instead of getting into fights and other such troubles.
Hayato and I seemed to hit it off perfectly. Until that point, I'd never been with another guy before, Sai excluded from this of course. Girls were easily attracted to me, and I'd seen my own share of romantic dating. I knew how to act around another guy, romantically that is, because of Sai. I also knew who I should probably steer clear of, also thanks to my big brother.
Then one day... I simply disappeared...
The news reported that I'd just vanished, and my family filed a missing person's report when I didn't return home.
Three months later, I turned up at home, and the first person I saw after those three months... was Sai.
But I didn't tell him what had happened. I didn't tell anyone actually...
The 'story' was that I'd gone on vacation for a while, just to clear my head and get away from the sudden fame that 'Hikari Ya Yami' had found.
But the truth...
Well...
The truth... was that I had actually been kidnapped.
By none other than Hayato himself.
For the first month, I was pretty much kept either locked away in his closet or just in his room. The second month was spent throughout the apartment itself, but I seemed to never get the chance to try and get away. By the third month... well... I didn't really care anymore. During those months, sometimes it was simply myself and Hayato, deepening the bond between us. Other times, well... lets just say there's a reason why I don't have a problem with complete strangers and my body...
I suppose a psychiatrist would say I developed Stockholm Syndrome... I fell in love with Hayato even more than I had been before.
I also suppose most people would have had me committed or at the very least a restraining order placed on Hayato...
But I loved it all really... the pleasure and the pain he brought me... and as the months wore on, I felt that a part of me would always be drawn back to him.
After I returned home, well... things weren't as easy. Sai was overprotective, and his exploits with me only served to make me want to run back into Hayato's arms all the sooner.
Exactly one year to the day that I 'disappeared' however... Hayato vanished.
A part of me always supposed that somehow, Sai knew what had happened... or he at least knew where Hayato was. When I returned home with strange marks or bruises, well... safe to say that Sai was always enraged over them.
He said that Hayato degraded me and made me to look like a dog in the eyes of himself and anyone else who happened in on the fun at the time.
But to me... well... he was Hayato. And that was simply the way the man was...
The next two years after his disappearance, I devoted myself to two singular passions; re-forming and re-creating 'Hikari Ya Yami' into a successful group... and searching for Hayato.
These two things brought me to SMASH Studios...
And now... to this hospital... to this one simple room...
I'm finally going to see him again...
After all this time...
But why, Sai?
Why didn't you tell me sooner?

Flipping through his phone and the log of missed calls and unanswered text messages, Naoko found two that had apparently happened sometime after he had passed out the night before.
One was from Nakai.
The other, from Ryu.
'But nothing from Sai...' the pianist thought sadly to himself.
He began reading through the first message;

No. I haven't spoken to Ishi yet. Please try to refrain from saying anything on the matter yourself to him. I'd like to keep things between him and I, well, between him and I. What about you? Have you gone and... well, told Ryu?

An obvious frown set itself up as the blond's current expression, and he had to wonder just how to properly answer that.
The notion that Kai wanted to keep the matter between himself and Ishi was reasonable and understandable. In truth, NAKO actually thought that rather responsible of his 'clone'. But the other part... well...

I told him. He... took it really hard. Then a lot of s**t happened and now... well... I think he hates you even more than he let on before. I wish I was with him but... I have something I have to do right now. Something... more important...

That was Naoko's reply back to the text.
If only he had known that Ryu had called Nakai already, and that it appeared that the violinist had forgiven the other blond... somehow...
He very nearly erased that last sentence, but knew that it was the truth.
Plus, Naoko was a horrible liar.
Sighing to himself, he focused on the next message...

I don't know where you are or what you are doing, but it is ok. It's going to be ok. I promise. Give our little girl a kiss and a treat for me. XOXO, Akuma.

For a moment, Naoko almost laughed out loud.
The first portion of his reply, easily punched in...

I hope you know that I left 'our little girl' at your apartment. The nurse which Sai hired is probably looking after her right now. As for... the other... I'm sorry, Ryu. There are... there are other things I have to take care of and... well... if you see my brother again, could you tell him that 'I'm sorry?' I'll head over to your place soon. Yakusoku.

The blond couldn't bring himself to sign the text message in a similar way as Ryu had.
It wasn't that he didn't love the young man, he really did... but...
Sai had been right.
NAKO was a screwed up mess, in more ways than one, and right now, well... Hayato needed him.
Didn't he?
Then again, Ryu had just gotten out of the hospital as well...
Sighing, Naoko flipped the phone closed and leaned back, reclining in the leather seats of his BMW, thanking the gods that he didn't have to drive the thing in his current condition.
For some reason, all the young man wanted in that moment was to go to sleep.
Alone.
And yet his heart raced at the mere thought that just miles away, just minutes from him, was the one person he had spent the last two years searching for.
"I'm coming, Hayato..." Naoko whispered as the car speed closer and closer to the hospital with each passing second...

There were three things to remember on a second meeting;
The first, was to always put your best foot forward and be yourself.
The second, was to bring flowers, especially if the person you were meeting held any sort of possible romantic interest for you.
The third, was to never be late, or if you are, be fashionably late.

Good thing... that Koyasu Akihiko always remembered those three simply rules...

Thus, the young man appeared at Izzy Lucky's front door, the door to his own personal loft that is, bright and early the next morning.
Sure he was still a little sore, but he was freshly dressed and ready to greet the day.
In more ways than one...

Holding a single red rose between lithe fingers, Narcissus was dressed to kill.
It was raining outside, so the young man had a black umbrella in hand. But he was also wearing a pure white form-fitting coat that hugged every possible angle of his body while still managing to flare out dramatically at the bottom. It was lined with a subtle light grey fur, just to keep a little extra heat in from the chill morning air.
His outfit however, was rather hard to discern, as he had the coat buttoned. But there were black boots barely visible, as well as the hem of what appeared to be jet black jeans.

One lithe hand was knocking on Ruki's door, while the other held that single stem rose.
He smirked, striking quite the handsomely beautiful pose as he waited for the other man to open the door. Umbrella tip tilted on the tile at just the right angle, his posture perfectly alluring...
Not to mention the man's long dark hair was twirled in very subtle yet careful curls so that the ends draped over one shoulder with ease.

Ah yes... Narcissus at his best... come to greet his new manager...

Izzy Lucky
At times life can be so enlightening .uoy no nrut nac ti tuB

Izzy pulled himself out of bed, and wandered into the kitchen to prepare a cup of coffee. He found that from his time in America, kouhii woke him up so much faster than ocha (tea). Rubbing his eyes, he was thankful that the timer on the pot had going off itself and he was standing before a fresh pot of kouhii rather than an empty one.

As he downed his first cup in between the shower and a small breakfast, he just had to smile at the thought of his future plans for Nakai. This morning was a big day! It could only get better from here. First, he set up the appointment with the tailor, then go over the budget in more detail! He actually considered the idea of pulling in some old Indie people he knew. Considering they might work within his means and he could actually put on a far more substantial tour for Nakai! Plotting all these ideas sincerely excited Izzy!

After he ate his heated rice with raw eggs, he finally started getting dressed in today's suit. Sliding on the deep blue pants, he peered into the mirror and gazed at his form for a second. At least, the Pastries didn't show up today but he'd have to work out to make sure his lean figure was maintained. So he slipped on a blue pinstriped shirt and tucked it all in; but before he could put on the jacket, he heard a knocking at his door.

Tilting his head and listening for a moment, he wondered who could be calling on him so early. Then, he wondered if the neighbor's cat got out again. How many times would he end up chasing that cat down he didn't know. Hurrying to the door, "Chotto Chotto...Just a second." he finally unlocked the door and opened it. "Hello....I..." Then he stopped and stared for just a moment taking in the sight before him.

His eyes blinked a moment because the man before him surely knew how to look as good as the clothes that covered him. Ah...but if beauty wasn't only skin deep here! That was the obvious problem with the picturesque site before him...but then the other problem skirted a path directly into his brain...Last Night!

Why was Koyasu-san here?! And WHY was he holding a rose?! And who gave him the address!? This might be bad. No, this WAS Bad; there was no might to it. Izzy suddenly felt a bit of heat rise at his collar. Nervous in so many ways, but if he let it show, that could be dangerous too. Nakai wouldn't be showing up coincidentally to rescue him. So Izzy quickly took a deep breath and put on his manager's face determined that he could take care of himself.

"Good Morning, Narcissus. What pleasant surprise to say the least. What brings you to my home so early...with such a lovely rose?" He remembered his manners and to sound casual even though inside he worried about what the man wanted this time. Even so, Izzy couldn't help but watch the man as handsome as he was, but this time Izzy was far more wary.

SHOU
No escaping when I start .traeh ruoy nwo I ni m'I ecnO

The new day...yes it was morning finally. He had shed his skin and blossomed once more. A brighter self to be certain. Peering at his schedule, today was going to be...exciting. The photo shoot had been reschedule for this morning. But of course it had started to rain, and certainly that would change a few aspects of the entire event.

As Shou strode out of his private home, his assistant was already prepared with the Umbrella. "Are you certain, Hamu-kun that that they will be bringing the horse into the Studio K itself?"

"Yes, Shou-sama, I was told that the horse...has been prepared but they have opted for two horses. One to take you in the carriage from about a half mile from the studio shoot location. Then upon your arrival, you'll be escorted in for the rest of the shoot. You hair stylist, makeup artist and clothier are already there to touch you up." said Yamada Haru in efficient response trying to ignore the Star's constant use of 'Hamu' for his name. There just was no stopping...Shou.

"I see. It sounds lovely. But not as lovely as you, my Hamu-kun." he winked as his gloved fingers stroked the edge of Yamada Haru's chin just before he slipped into the limo.

With a special over coat, he was able to protect most of his white regalia from the weather and while the limo made it's way to the carriage, Shou hummed a tune still listening to Hamu-kun, who dutifully listed off his day. Yes, his schedule was...jammed packed and it was all his fault of course. Not that he minded too much. Just another day in the life of a Star.

Upon arrival to the white carriage he quickly slipped from the limo to the enclosed carriage stripping off the coat within its walls. The ride wasn't too long but enough to greet the excited fans that waited for him to arrive. Standing in their bright rain coats, umbrellas, and cosplay costumes from various stage shows, he was always amused by each attempt at imitation.

Fortunate for him, as the carriage pulled up at the gates to where the photo shoot would begin, the rain had slowed to a pitter patter upon the streets. Even a slight beam of sunshine glimmered through the clouds. It was a moment of opportunity and Shou took advantage off it as he threw open the carriage door and strode down to the street. The guards had to rush a little as a few eager fans tried to press their way to Shou side.

Just enough time to below a kiss, one quick pose grabbed the eyes of the paparazzi before he made his way inside. Did it matter much that this was all for a promotional ad? No...they wanted to live the fantasical dream along with him. And soon, he was given a step ladder to get seated on the magnificent beast just after the primping was complete.

So many things to do just to adverstise a men's cologne. Between the sway of the woven brocade and the soft silks adorned with fine pearls - the epitome of a visual kei Prince Charming upon his white steed amidst a 'winter' snow.

The giant fans blew the flowing mane back and his white fur cloak to the enhanced winds as he turned to greet the 'princess' at the balcony and the horse bowed on cue as he brought his own hand forward gracefully. It was a show in itself even while this scene was only a small part of the fantasy.

Twenty minutes later, he was off the horse and she was in his arms displaying the bottle in her finger tips as he leaned in...his alluring lips almost against her soft pink ones...Then... "CUT!!" the director yelled.

Shou pulled back from his blushing partner as the assistants plucked the crystal bottle from her fingers before she dropped it. "Arigatou gozaimasu." he said softly as he let her go then turned and waited for the makeup artist to touch up the crown of white that was woven into a wave of winter beads that formed icicles along his hair.

The photo shoot continued for a few hours more before he was finally able to get away to his next engagement. Not even changing his clothes he met the TV/Magazine reporters in Studio L. Although he changed the long draping fur cloak for a short cape just so the walk wouldn't ruin the fabrics. Yukio had already arrived still dressed as a princess but like him, she opted to tone down the winter wear.

"Ah, XFantasyX is a fine men's cologne. I've some on if you wish to take a whiff." he playfully answered one of the women who squeed at the thought of getting that close. He laughed when they were too shy to try. So he glanced at Yukio and smiled seductively at his 'princess'. "Ah, but my princess' words are really all that matters in this regard. Do you like my scent, my lady?" His words flowed off the tip of his tongue even as she blushed again.

"Yes, my Lord." she answered with a more confident but breathless sexy voice, "You're skin brings many thoughts to mind." She still kept the words clean even if her voice gave a distinct undertone that kept the fantasy alive throughout the interview.

And finally, when that was all over...Yamada Haru was there in a flash, saving Shou from a bombardment of other distractions. He inserted a straw into the Star's mouth. "A protein drink, Shou-sama. Drink up because you're next appointment is to meet up with the new band. I promise to bring you lunch there...but with this bustling schedule..."

"I know Hamu-kun. It's alright." He quickly sipped down some of the drink as Hamu-kun took him down a few halls and beyond Studio L through a walk way that eventually heralded his arrival at the Music Studio in Studio M. Once there, he entered the performance chamber, set down his protein drink and started to warm up his voice bringing his voice in sync and pitch with the music offered.

“I don't want to achieve immortality through my work. I want to achieve it through not dying.”

Ryu had just answered the phone call from Nakai when his phone buzzed in his hand. Giving a quick look down, the violinist could see that it was a text message from Naoko.
"Sorry, sorry...hold just one second..." his voice rasped again, as if threatening to go away once more. Somewhat rudely, Ryu put Kai on hold to read Naoko's message.

Yakusoku.

That was a strange message, Ryu found himself thinking.
What was even stranger was that he had not heard the puppy once since he had been home. Naturally, he had just assumed Naoko had toted her along, or that perhaps Sai had taken care of her.
Calling out into the house, Ryu summoned the nurse and asked about the puppy...only to be told that the nurse had put her outside.

Immediately, Ryu began to panic.

"You....you....you mean....you did what?!" he yelled.
"Baka baka baka baka bakabakabakabaka BAKA!" the former vocalist ranted, clicking his phone back over to Nakai.
"I am so so sooo sorry, Kai. Listen...I have a big problem...it's about Naoko....I've lost his dog!"

K a i - H i g u r i

Kai winced when he heard the state of Ryu's voice. Being a singer himself, he could almost feel the pain of Ryu's voice, and it was horrible. Kai wanted to reply and cut Ryu off just to stop hearing the soft rasping. Sheesh, what had happened to him? Had he gotten a flu or something? About to reply, Kai found himself suddenly cut off by Ryu's frantic shouting.

"I am so so sooo sorry, Kai. Listen...I have a big problem...it's about Naoko....I've lost his dog!"

Kai blinked. Okay. This was getting pretty odd. But at least Ryu's voice suddenly sounded a lot better. Ironically, the sudden turn of their conversation made Kai speechless in return.
After a while, Kai managed to reel himself back in and reply, "His dog?"
The singer took a glance at his watch. Two in the morning. A dog. Didn't he have better things to do than deal with this? Yes. Was he going to abandon Ryu, who suddenly sounded even more devastated than ever about a mere dog? No. He couldn't, even if it he wanted to.

Clearing his throat, Kai went on, temporarily forgetting that he had intended to ask about directions to Ryu's house.
"So... May I ask how I tie into this? Would you like me to go and search for him?" Kai cringed a little at the thought. Puppies and dogs really weren't his favorite animals. He much preferred cats, for they were mostly always docile and took care of themselves. Dogs were like weak people, always begging for attention. Kai almost felt contempt for dogs, much like he did weak people. It was quite odd.

((Half this post probably doesn't make sense. Don't blame me. I'm trying to multitask like hell.))

"Nakai...please forgive me for this mess." Ryu managed to get out before falling into a random coughing fit. The hole in his throat was starting to hurt terribly. It would be time to take some more medication quite soon.
"I don't need help with the dog...that's just another problem I have to deal with, but I do need to talk with you...about Naoko. My address is Nishi-Shinjuku 7-chome. I'll be waiting, ok?"
Clicking the phone closed, the violinist sighed, staring at the blanket that covered his legs. He wouldn't be able to walk for quite some time yet. He reached over to his night stand and picked up the bottle of pills, popping three of them before calling the nurse back into his room, asking her to help him into his wheelchair. Once he had gotten as comfortable as he could, he asked her to leave, simply sitting and waiting for Nakai.

K a i - H i g u r i

Nakai was a little startled that Ryu was so... what, responsible? Well, Ryu had seemed a tad bit immature to the singer back then when he was acting so jealous over
Naoko, but apparently Kai hadn't seen deep enough. Perhaps Ryu was just as mature and responsible as anyone else.
Ah, the surprises never end... There really was no fondness in that thought.
Anyway, Kai was glad that there would be no dog chasing at two in the morning. That would just be horrendous. And Kai wasn't sure he felt gentlemanly enough at the moment to do that for someone who had obviously shown him much distaste in the past. Sure, he was being extra gentlemanly recently due to recent events, but that was toward people he liked and wanted to get closer to, such as Izzy, but Kai wasn't sure about his feelings toward Ryu. Ryu was, after all, his 'enemy' in love, even if Kai wasn't really romantically inclined toward Naoko—it was more like a... convenience between them. A flirtatious friends with benefits sort of thing. Yeah... That was it...

Kai was startled—but only slightly—by the abrupt ending of the conversation, but at least he had gotten what he had set out for in the first place, which was an address.
Kai quickly relayed the instructions over to his chauffeur, who followed without questions. Silence was something that money could buy, and Kai was thankful for it. The last thing he needed were questions he couldn't answer himself.

In the world of entertainment news, Ohayou Productions manager, Izzy Lucky, was recently signed on as manager to the rising star, Nakai. However, it seems Lucky may have his work cut out for him as rumors spread that he may also be taking on a side artist... the infamously popular Narcissus. Rumors haven't been confirmed as of yet, but the idea of a joint concert between the two men has sparked a large amount of internet buzz.

And let's not forget the recent accident of violinist Ryuukaze. The latest reports say he has returned home for further healing and bed rest, but the rumors regarding visits by 'Hikari Ya Yami' pianist and remaining original band member, NAKO, are only adding fuel to the story. Tabloids have reported that the two, and Ohayo's Nakai, were spotted in a bar together, but upon investigation, the manager of the establishment could neither confirm nor deny the possibility. She has gone on the record however to claim that, 'Many musicians frequent this particular bar. I think it's because they enjoy the professionalism and politeness of the staff. Not to mention, we're not in the habit of selling information to the highest bidder.'.

In further news, there is the strong possibility that, in regards to Ryuukaze's accident, SMASH Studios and Nihon Records are in talks to allow Ryuukaze and his infamous violin to accompany 'Hikari Ya Yami' on their newest album. There is also talk that someone at SMASH Studios was actually responsible for Ryuukaze's accident. The studio head however, could neither confirm nor deny this information.

Genki Sound has decided to finance a new band by the name of 'Le Nouvelle Cauchemar'. They are said to be marketing this band toward a more pop-based genre, and are currently looking for new talent.
The same can be said of GO! Label, who has just signed a lead vocalist for their newest boy band, 'Strike Up!'. Of course both groups haven't set any sort of release date for their first work, but we expect a date to come as soon as the bands have been able to fill their open slots.

Now, let's throw the broadcast over to Hashimoto-san for the extended forecast...

It really didn't matter what the news said.
It didn't matter how they phrased it or where they got their information.
Hell, it didn't even matter that they were talking about things that a few hours ago... I would have cared the world about.
But now...
Well...
To me, there were more important things than rumors or gossip.
Things that demanded my immediate attention, to hell with the rest of the world.
But I didn't think shutting out the world... would be so damn difficult...

He had arrived over an hour ago.
Nothing had changed in Hayato's condition, and according to the nurses, nothing had changed since he had been admitted to the hospital.
To make matters worse, Naoko had been forced to actually give them the name of the young man, because up until that point, he had been treated as a nameless stranger.
Of course Naoko didn't actually KNOW Hayato's real name... simply the stage name that he had always used.
But it gave the authorities something to finally go with.

So now, sitting in a dreary hospital room... again... Naoko found his mind wandering...
He thought about when he and Hayato had met...
Thought about Sai and his brother's anger in regards to Hayato...
He even thought about their first performance as a band, and the ecstatic reaction of the crowd.
But once those thoughts were finally played out, and there was nothing more for the young pianist to think about...
Well...
That was when he began to truly feel the pain of finding Hayato again.

"I thought I'd lost you..." Naoko whispered, sitting in a chair beside the bed, one of Hayato's hands in his own. "I've finally found you... after so long... and now..."
He didn't want to say it.
Didn't want to voice the obvious... because the nurse had already voiced it for him.
Hayato's chances of regaining consciousness after such a long time... were a mere 3%.

A pleasant smirk set itself on Narcissus' lips. "Come now, Ruki-san... that comment simply screamed of sarcasm." the dark-haired man presented the rose to Izzy.
When the other man didn't take it, Akihiko simply inserted the flower in the manager's collar.

"It's hardly a pleasant surprise to see me, that's obvious from your gaze... and the tiniest wince that I detected when your brain finally kicked into gear... that I was standing at your front door." he shrugged, acting as if none of these things so much as interested him really... let alone bother him.
"You should be a bit more upbeat and friendly, you know. Especially considering..." he produced, from his coat, a manila envelope. "you're my new manager."
Within the envelope were the documents to make everything official.

After Narcissus basked in the expression on the other man's face, he smirked once more and continued forth.
Hands on his hips, Akihiko began, "Of course you're not obligated to accept the agreement... but oji-san approved it himself, after a generous donation of my time and fame... to your precious new star, Nakai." he winked. "That's right, Ruki-san... Nakai will be headlining a concert with Narcissus. Now... tell me that this won't make him an overnight sensation, hmm?"

Blue eyes, cold and yet sparkling with a strange sort of interest, held Izzy Lucky in their gaze. "I'd ask to be let in... but I fear you must think me some strange inhuman creature of the night and fear to let me past the threshold. Odd as it sounds, I've faith in you, Ruki-san. Mainly..." his smirk turned just a bit darker at this. "Because you're the only manager at Ohayou that I haven't been able to seduce. You're not immune to my advances... you're just a lot stronger than the others. Strength like that... can go a long way, Ruki-san."

Narcissus understood the game he was playing.
A game he knew oh-so-well...
He actually held Izzy Lucky in high respect, especially after the night before.
And yet... it was Akihiko's way to test everyone.
He wanted to know what would break them... what would bend them... or what would raise them above everyone else.
It was why he'd made the wager with Hiroki...
It was why he handled that situation as he had...
And, it was why he wasn't going to let Izzy Lucky out of his sights...

(((OOC: GOMEN! I went MIA again... I was busy with work then on Fri Night I got this bug bite... and I ended up having to go to the ER on Sunday because the entire top of my right arm was red and swollen. So I'd go to work then come home and take allergy meds then end up sleeping cause they made me tired (but they stopped the itching). I haven't had to take anything for the itching today! So I'm finally online, hehe. I'm trying to reply to everything I haven't replied to! WOOT!)))

Izzy Lucky
At times life can be so enlightening .uoy no nrut nac ti tuB

Izzy smiled even though slight. He'd been caught with his remark although that was expected because Koyasu-san never missed anything it seemed. However, when the rose was tucked into his collar, he couldn't help but take a second to smell its fine fragrance. He tried to ignore that the man kept calling him Ruki-san rather than Ishi-san. Why couldn't Koyasu-san learn!?

"You've caught me early in the morning, Koyasu-san. I'm not quite on the clock yet. So of course, having someone from work show up at my door step is surprising. You could have met me at work if you had something to tell me." he answered keeping his cool even though his fingers remained on the door frame. Inside he watched everyone of Koyasu-san's moves trying to make sure that the man didn't surprise him.

However, the next lines.... "I'm your new manager???" he said answering those words with surprised purely evident on his face. It took several blinks and a second to pull up his jaw for him to realize that the man was...serious. He took a hold of the envelope and opened it to peer at the papers. Izzy couldn't believe this...TWO Stars!

"Chairman Koyasu-sama approved this?" he asked as he stared at the signature even as Koyasu-san confirmed it with his words. He instantly focused on the combination of Nakai and Narcissus and all the possibilities for his star....stars? For Nakai, this could be the key to a complete success and super stardom. But for...himself, utter...mindbending insanity. It had been a bit of time since he had managed two acts and neither had been on Narcissus' level. The wheels turned in Izzy's head as he tried to fathom what to say.

"It would make him an overnight sensation. I'd have to agree with you on that." his own eyes rising up from the papers to meet Koyasu-san. He kept his manager mask on even a those vivid eyes took in the cold sparkle.

If he was going to be this man's manager at all he'd have to be fierce and never let his guard down. But was it truly safe to work with this man. After last night, his inner fears and stress certainly added their cries of protest. But if he refused, he knew it would be far worse...between the Chairman, Koyasu-san, and the employees; he'd never be able to save face. And as a manager, could he risk not taking this opportunity for Nakai?

"You've faith in me. But will you do as I ask Narcissus? If I take this job, I'd be your manager and I'd expect you to follow my lead in the areas of my purview. A manager can't have his star complicating the works behind the scenes. I'm serious about helping my stars reach higher, but if you hinder me, then I cannot excel at my job." He didn't explain 'hinder' but he figured Koyasu-san would understand exactly what he meant.

Izzy bit his bottom lip just a little. So last night's interlude might have been some sort of strange...test. Oh great...Koyasu-san seemed to respect strength in an almost kill or be killed manner. It wasn't what he thought had been going on in the man's head but it did give him another small insight into the personality. If he said yes to this job, he'd have to never let Koyasu-san see any of his fear or worry.

"Ah, umm...well you're a Star, Koyasu-san. I'm a manager. And that being said, one shouldn't mix work with pleasure. You're handsome...and very tempting but I'm sure that it would not be a successful relationship outside of work." he answered even if in his own mind he had several fantasies about Koyasu-san. Heck, his stars always gave him a brief period of 'What if' but seriously, no star would ever want to fall for their manager.

K a i - H i g u r i

Kai finally arrived at the designated address and bid his driver to stand by, though turn off the engine. Kai hoped that the meeting wouldn't last so long that it would be cruel for the driver to wait, but Kai knew that it at least would be long enough that they'd probably be out of a battery leaving the car running for that long.

Having taken care of the limo issue—and telling the driver that he could depart if the meeting reached over two hours, since by then it'd be four in the morning and only a few hours until Kai went back to work—Kai approached the door and gently rang the bell, tapping his foot with slight impatience. Kai wasn't really in a rush to go anywhere, but he was just a little put at odds by this summoning. The last thing he had remembered of Ryu was the jealous tirade and murderous glare, both of which he took with practiced and amused ease. Had Ryu remembered something completely different? Or perhaps again this was all some sort of elaborate trap to get back at Kai for the alley incident? If that was the case, Ryu sure was good at acting. Kai had only sensed great distress and weariness in his tone when they had been on the phone. If Ryu was vengeful, jealous, or at all deceitful, the singer hadn't felt it. That of course only made Kai more edgy, for perhaps he hadn't heard it due to the fact that he had been distracted by the other events of the day.

The nurse showed up to open the door, which surprised Kai greatly—though that only showed in a very slight widening of his eyes. Kai hadn't expected there to be a woman over at the house, not at first understanding the role that this woman played. In light of his promiscuous history, it was no wonder that Kai thought, at first, that this lady was a lover of Ryu's. Perhaps this woman had something to do with it.
But when Kai was addressed as "sir," all notions of that flew from his head. This must be Ryu's maid or something, and she was even dressed a little odd too. This only served to make Kai greatly confused yet again, perhaps even more so than before the door had opened.

"Ah, hi," Kai murmured with as much grace as one could muster at two in the morning. His gaze was apologetic for—he assumed—having woken her up. Not at all feeling flirtatious, Kai went on to state his reason for appearing at such an ungodly hour. "I'm here to see Ryuukaze-san... He's expecting me."
The nurse/maid smiled graciously, though tiredly, and let Kai in, figuring that he was an honest enough appearing man. Kai found himself led wordlessly to Ryu's room, where he knocked softly before opening the door just a crack.

Kai was a little startled by the gaunt figure sitting in the wheelchair, which was the image that greeted him, but he quickly overcame that and opened the door a little more, smiling.
"Ryu... May I come in?"

((Adding to my last post, since I was totally in a rush then, and I have more time now to finish my thought. Hehe...))

“I don't want to achieve immortality through my work. I want to achieve it through not dying.”

"Welcome, Nakai...by all means, come in." Ryu smiled weakly, a soft wheeze coming with each breath. Even in his disheveled, sickly state, Ryu was beautiful, but not beautiful in the way everyone had always known him to be. More beautiful in a fragile, waif-like fashion. The violinist's blood red eyes said it all though. Ryu was broken, completely, both physically and emotionally.
"I appreciate you coming to speak with me at such a late hour. I know this is all weird and whatnot...I just needed someone who would listen and understand. I guess...well, I guess first let me say I am sorry...for, well....you know. About Naoko." his voice caught as he choked back tears.
Trembling in his wheelchair, the injured man looked up at Kai, both relishing and loathing the fact that the singer looked so much like Naoko.
"What I want to say....is....is that...if Naoko wants you, and you want him, then I'm letting go. It seems I only bring him trouble, anyway. He...he told me...about yesterday...." was all Ryu could get out before the tears spilled onto his cheeks.

“For Love is Immortality.”

"If I had met you at work, Ruki-san... it would have defeated the purpose of a surprise." Akihiko replied with a charmingly devilish smirk.

He loved teasing the megane-clad man.
In fact, it was one of his favorite past times for the present. Though that was, no doubt, bound to change. Nothing really ever held his interest for too long.
Nothing except himself of course.

"Is there a problem with handling two stars?" the dark-haired man asked, folding his arms delicately over his chest. "You'd done it before, so I simply assumed you could do it again. Of course your stars weren't quite the same as Kai and myself..." he tapped one finger against his lips, as if thinking. "Then again, I myself am already well acquainted with the workings of a star, so taking on my career shouldn't be too terribly troublesome... or did I place faith wrongly?"
Narcissus asked this in more of an condescending tone than he had originally intended. But he was trying to question the man's ability to multi-task to the extreme...

Of course, Izzy Lucky's next comment immediately put the young Koyasu on alert.

But will you do as I ask Narcissus? If I take this job, I'd be your manager and I'd expect you to follow my lead in the areas of my purview. A manager can't have his star complicating the works behind the scenes. I'm serious about helping my stars reach higher, but if you hinder me, then I cannot excel at my job.

Oh now that was the stickler, wasn't it?
Smirking, the prodigy nodded. "Managers have a right to try and govern their stars. If you're worried that I'll do something to harm Nakai's career, or yours as a manager, then you're wasting your worry." his smirk turned to a light smile. "I'll follow your lead in SOME things... I'm still calling the shots regarding creativity. That aspect, no manager will take away."
Yes, Koyasu did understand exactly what the other man meant by 'hinder'... but of course, in the musician's eyes, that wasn't so much as a hindrance as a slight inconvenience at best...

Laughing, the man shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly, "Too bad, Ruki-san... I could have made so many of your little fantasies come true now..." blue eyes focused intently on the man. "couldn't I?"
Akihiko made sure to lower his voice to a perfectly seductive pitch. To him, it wasn't unheard of for a manager and their star to become involved with one another.
Then again... Izzy's unwillingness, mentally, was what attracted the musical prodigy to him in the first place.
"However, it's hardly strange for me to actually pursue a relationship that can be strictly platonic... rare, but not strange." Narcissus winked at Izzy before replacing his hands on his hips.

"Anyway, if you're ready to head toward the studio, by all means, let me give you a lift. If you're the type to worry about the environment," he deftly poked Izzy's forehead with one finger playfully. "Then think of it as carpooling." the man teased before ACTUALLY backing up out of the manager's personal space.

Izzy did feel plagued by that charming devilish smirk. Koyasu-san was a persistent b*****d and he couldn't help but push up his megane upon his nose just to put them in place again. "I've don't it before. Yes, with Indie Records. It's possible to do but indeed, you and Nakai are quite a set of different challenges."

He tilted his head slightly at the remark, "Faith, oh I have faith that I can do it. It's not an impossible task and I've no doubt in my own skills as long as I'm allowed to do my job in my own fashion." he stressed the last bit because Koyasu-san liked control just a bit too much. Izzy noted the condescending tones and he had to wonder how serious the man was or if he were just playing another game. Izzy while inside felt his heart beating in his chest wasn't going to let himself get played too far. Not again.

"That is not exactly what I am worried about. I wouldn't think you'd sabotage a career that you would link to your own on tour. It might gain publicity briefly but it wouldn't instill confidence in the tour or you. As for me as a manager, I don't expect to call the shots about your creativity but I do expect to handle how the money is spent to get it."

He paused for a moment as he took in those tempting words that caused his heart to race and his cheeks to heighten in color. Fantasies...yes, he had several about Koyasu-san. Even had a poster of Narcissus framed on a wall along with photos of his other Stars. But even in his own exotic personal desires, crossing that one line in work was something he had never done. He knew other managers that had stepped over the line but he tried to keep a clear head. What star would fall in love with their manager? Certainly not Koyasu-san, a hungry predator that could never be satisfied and would be come bored easily. Izzy didn't want to risk his good career on that concept. And well, while he had thought about just bed time companions, that could lead to another set of issues - with someone like Koyasu-san -control issues.

"You are persistant...aren't you?" Oh no he wouldn't answer that question no matter how many times he had thought, yes.

"I'm sure that you can fulfill your fans fantasies better than mine, Koyasu-san." he returned with a bit of exasperation to cover up other feelings within, "My fantasies are nothing that you can live up to or commit to. I doubt any star could fulfill my desires. So we should both be better for not exploring them and remain strictly platonic."

He blinked abit as he was poked in the forehead and then rubbed the spot taking the teasing fairly well although he still had to bring this man into line some how! His personal space had been interrupted too many times by this man already. "Ah...mm...Yes, I am headed towards the studio. Ah well..." He might have refused but he could always get a ride back from the company car. "Very well, let me get my things. Give me a second." Turning away, he hastened back into his Loft and gathered up his various things for the job.

As he was inside, he carefully thought about the unsual situation, overall he couldn't really turn it down for several reasons - Nakai's future, his career's value, the pay increase which would actually...make it possible to move to a bigger place if he wanted, and a chance at being the most successful manager at Ohayou! Ok, well if the job didn't kill him, if Koyasu-san could keep his hands to himself....if Nakai could keep his hands to himself like last night rather than yesterday morning. So many ifs...but he knew that any promotion had risks.

When he walked back out and closed the door locking it behind him, he looked up at Koyasu-san and said in a steady tone, "After some thought, I've decided to take the position offered. And I've signed the proper papers within the envelope to give to Secretary Asato-san. I'll be manger for you and Nakai. You may call me Ishi-san or Izzy Lucky as I'm your manager and your partner in Work but nothing more, Koyasu-san. Just remember that as we go forward and we will get along famously. Yours and Nakai's success will be my top priorities from here forward."

He had to wonder how Narcissus would take the words, but he was his manager now. Maybe this was Izzy's own test of the man.
