Nah I wasn't being touchy or anything, I was just saying, other sub-cultures have had it harder and longer then emo, but emo's seem to complain the most about it.

well thats true..but isnt that why emo is emo?cuz emo over-reacts..they usually take crap like that and make them seem so much bigger than they actually are..oh and sub-cultures like metal and others of the like dont complain about it cuz they just dont care..whereas emo cares too much.. emo dunno if im wrong so correct me if i am.. whee

Metal complains about it, trust me, we're all like "Damn kids gots no respect!" whilst holding ourselves up on our crutches. But we complain in a jokey 'old person' way, where as emo's you insult the culture, and they get into a big thing about what it is to be emo, at which point I head butt them til they realise I don't care. Not that any of that is stuff I've done before. *whistles*

lol.. xd but at least u dont take crap like emo's do..and i see your point that when a few people people "hurt" emo's, they take it out on the entire culture(i.e preps)and they dont even bother too see that some of them could still actually be pretty cool friends when you get to know them..thats probably one of the reasons why emo takes a lot s**t from other cultures..

Actually metal probably gets it worse, think about it, we're a bunch of guys in long hair, denim jeans, shirts, singing about the 'on coming storm of Azeroth' whilst dancing like a blind drunk monkey waiter with rabies. Trust me we get it bad. The thing with emo is, everyone blows it out of proportion, its acceptable to be emo, as much as people say they are 'outcast' emo's are as numerous as preps and chavs. They are a mainstream culture. Where as my culture has and always will be marginalised to a few people, think about it.

I still don't see how you could possibly get that much crap for being a metalhead, or part of any subculture for that matter.

The way it is here, if someone picks on you for something, it's only once or twice and you ignore it, or it becomes a running joke and you learn to take that joke, y'know? You laugh it off.

I guess this is another example of how different the world is outside of the Isel-bubble of Self-Absorption.

whilst emo has weird pretty boy hair, is mostly dressed in black, fitting wear, sings about how great death can be, or how pitiful their lives are whilst sitting in a damp, dark, corner of a small room..depressing and pitiful.. stare anyway are there really a lot of emo's there in europe? there arent much in the philippines..were a rare breed..most people here have that wanna be gangsta look..which really annoys the hell outta me.. scream so if youre emo here, people actually do look down on you and think youre some sort of permanently depressed, suicidal psycho..emo is just about 1 out of 20 kids and thats not counting the posers..those are just the people who dress emo..oh, and if there are so many "emo's" out in england or the u.s., most of 'em are probably just posers..so emo's arent really that numerous anywhere..

The British population is like 40% chav, 35% emo and 15% other sub culture. Trust me, they are everywhere in Britland, I won't speak for the rest of Europe as I honestly don't know what the numbers would be. But yeah, most are either emo or chav (what do you expect from the nation that gave you Lost Prophets and Funeral for a Friend), hell, I've had emo kids call me a smelly hippy and told me to get a hair cut, right before I break their arms.

i like the speech. its very true. in school all i got was bad comments on who i was & what i did. no, i didn't go & do cool stuff, do drugs, smoke, tho i did drink. the only reason i did drink before, during, or after school is because of my depression of the people around me. its true about the people who you hang out with have an affect on who you are or what you do. it pisses me off when others pick on the different. i had lots of friends with the gay, bi, straight, geeks, emos, punk, and goth people of my school. i even had some preppy and some i don't kno how to define. i payed more attention to their behavior than their looks.
