Hocky is funny. So long since Ive played it I have forgotten how to hold the stick. I think there were a couple of chavs who complained about me being too scary. XD. I never hurt anyone.
Our sports kit is the same for the girls and the boys. Baggy red and black dennis the menace striped rugby shirt, black shorts and red and black striped long socks.

Same with the uniform, our blazers are boys blazers with huge shoulder pads that make us look disporportionate. Luckily we get to choose our trousers.

http://www.harpers.org/PigSticking.html

Quote:
A hunting dog is frequently cut nearly in two by a single stroke of a boar's tusks, and horses and men are occasionally killed by boars which have become tired of being hunted, and which try to infuse a little variety into the affair by hunting their enemies. When wounded he is an exceedingly dangerous beast to face on foot, unless the hunter is a lawless ruffian who is capable of killing him with a rifle. One can scarcely imagine an Englishman so lost to all sense of decency as to shoot a fox, and next to that crime ranks, in Anglo-Indian estimation, the loathsome outrage of killing a pig by any process except that of pig-sticking.

Not that I endorse it, or anything.

There's a college I know of in America and they are the only college/university that has a Cricket team. I'm pretty sure that is a British sport.

Croquet and archery is thought to be very British over here as well. (Croquet is fun mrgreen , but I have no talent in that game whatsoever. ^^ wink

I would've thought Rounders was a very British sport but then again, I'm not British.
I always thought of rounders as "Cricket for girls." At least, that's what it was at our school sweatdrop I didnt like rounders much but it was better than football *shudders* Luckily, after four years of shouting at us for being so unenthusiastic, the PE teachers have finally given up on us and just let us do what we want lol xp

I did archery for about three years. Once managed to hit a blackberry, which was balanced atop three stacked apples, without knocking the stack over, at just over 25 yards
I wish I could've seen that, sounds amazing whee

I've never played croquet personally but it seems like it would be fun

What uni you off to Invi?

It was amazing, and absolute fluke but I daresay I'll never live to see one quite so improbable!

Croquet is satisfying, though it really does have to be nice weather and on a flat lawn. Bumps in the lawn add an -unwanted- new level to the strategy!

I'm off to Lampeter in Wales, which I think should suit me quite well. It's very small, and most people seem to agree that it's very nice but just not normal.

Once our PE teachers gave up on us and let us do what we wanted PE got a lot more fun. I'm doing a mixture of volleyball and tabletennis at the moment, depends on what I feel like.
I even volentarily had an impromtu game of badminton yesterday. And we weren't meant to have PE.

My Swedish relatives are big on croquet. They gave me a set and are forever trying to get me to play but the lawn (and weather) isn't really up to it.
It's an ok game.

ooh wow.. You must be uber smart.. I thought about doing Philosophy and Religion for A level but I dont really think it's for me.. I'd find it really interesting but would probably fall behind on the work.. I only got a C in my RE GCSE and I'm more of a maths kind of person (like to keep things simple.. essays are far too much work for my liking)

ice_illusion, PE has been much more fun this year 3nodding We've been doing trampolining the past few weeks which is fun and after half term we're doing either 'legs, bums n tums' or 'salsasize' lol whee

I'm smart, but I'm also stupid. They tried to set me on the Oxbridge route but I was bored, arrogant and frankly rather volatile. Oh, and dyslexic. I couldn't really write until I was

My attentions were focused rather more on masterminding acts of rebellion, structuring arguments with which to tie up the teachers and generally avoiding my studies.

And so, since primary school, the pattern has rather continued. Through getting suspended, dressing up as a terrorist, running a debating society and drinking perhaps a little too much, I scraped through my exams with two C grades and an E.

Don't follow my example unless you feel it -absolutely- necessary though.

That sounds fun.
I think all our PE teachers are a bit past being able run anything aproahing areobics. One of them was old when she taught people in my class's parents.

Theres a maths teacher that runs a body combat class. Thats good.

Invi, sounds vaguely familiar... I sometimes think I'm allergic to hard work lol.. I've learnt to get by on my wit and charm lol.
ice_illusion, our old PE teacher left last year so we luckily have younger teachers... a maths teacher that runs a body combat class? That's so cool! We dont even have a maths teacher... which is slightly infuriating considering it's the only subject I actually give a damn about sweatdrop

I think I'm at a bigger school? Theres 7 maths teachers at my school (although they also take computing and citizenship). Another maths teacher does athletics afterschool and a different one organisises football matches.
