"... you're lucky that my definition of fine is relatively close to your definition of fine," Jeremiah uttered, making sure that Shun was at least steady on his feet. He was definitely trying to not think about the fact that Shun was missing an eye, though he kept expecting it to somehow pop up on the thing they were dealing with and stare at him.

Entirely unacceptable.

"I'll get back to it in a moment but first move your hand. Can't do much, but I can slow the blood flow until something can be done. Possibly numb it."

Shun was steady, though he wasn't standing straight. He was somewhat hunched over while his hand was pressed over his left eye socket. Reluctantly, he moved his hand away, revealing quite the bloody mess behind it. His eye was thankfully shut, but it probably still didn't look pretty.

"Its eyes are dulling out one by one," he uttered between breaths. He wasn't completely certain what will happen once they all are out, but presumably its power would be diminished. Maybe.

What happens with All Seeing can no longer see?

There's a quick look back towards All-Seeing, Jeremiah trusting his senses to let him know if something was coming his direction. So far? Nothing pinged at him.

"... something like ten left? Maybe more?" It was a quick glance, a quick count, his attention flicking back towards Shun. The eye was shut but it was a mess but Jeremiah took it in stride, didn't even flinch. (He had seen his husband flayed alive, this he could handle.)

"It's going to be cold," he told him, "but should help." Jeremiah's hand raised to touch Shun's bloody temple near the eye and let go some of some of his perpetual chill. Just enough to slow blood flow and maybe numb it a little but it was definitely like cold frost on skin.

His hand fell, shoulders rolling because he was strangely not warmer (and did not necessarily notice the scales of ice that had crept up along his neck). "That should do it. Now to see about All-Seeing ..."

Temperance had glanced up. "s**t," she said. Then, to Jack: "Keep pressure on it, or tie your jacket around it. The bandage I gave you will prevent the wound sticking to anything, but it isn't absorbent." She spoke quickly, her attention already focused elsewhere. "Her blood loss is slowing - she needs to be taken to a hospital, just in case, but at least keep her out of the thick of it. I've got to patch up others, Jack." Then, leaving Chel in his hands (and her leaving said something about how she still trusted his judgement), she was off.

When Temperance needed to, she moved damn fast. She was at Jeremiah's side shortly - how could she not see the blood-covered Shun? "Chief - what happened?" she said, and reached out. "Detective, I know it hurts, but I need you to open your eye. I've got to flush it." She thought quickly - it depended on what exactly was wrong with his eye - but she had a pressure patch in her bag and saline (which she'd almost forgotten). She'd probably have to jury rig the second part of the eye patch, but she couldn't just leave an eye wound uncovered.

She was getting winded; she hurt all over, but it was great. It reminded her of home, in a way, if she'd ever had one. Preacher couldn't go fancy s**t - there wasn't enough time to figure out a sigil that would work - but she had fists and reflexes and really pointy elbows. It was becoming apparent that she was the type who, on the ground, dripping blood, would ask if that was all they had. She angled her hand towards another one of the thing's eyes. Couldn't do ********' much if they made it blind.

This time she was almost braced for it. A waving tentacle slammed upside her head and the world spun. And she was something, really, truly. Not an embarrassment, but an asset. And Preacher- Preacher spat blood. That was crueler than anything else, she thought. Shakily, she got back up. The farmer's market was trashed. Grunting, she grabbed a splintered piece of wood - perhaps it was once a chair. For now, it was simply an implement to shove in another eye.

"It took his-" Jeremiah looked away from All Seeing to Temperance and paused, almost immediately. He knew, though he could not say for certain, that she was a fetch. This young woman was a fetch. At the moment it didn't matter, there were more things important than who was undergoing trial to become a Noble.

"It took his eye," he told her, "right out of the socket." He shifted them, putting himself between the two and All Seeing. "Sounds like she can help, Shun, I'd let her do so." Not that he's sure why he's saying that other than she is a fetch and-

Definitely not the time.

Jeremiah takes a breath and marches right back into the fray, right back up to All Seeing because he doesn't really care at the moment. No, right now he's reaching right into it and using cold fire to burn one of those eyes (a red, serpent like one) out.

He keeps a hold through the vision - it wears his face and he's killing himself; he's squeezes until it stops struggling, until the life is gone and even before the glamour starts to fade, he's burning it away to nothing - because he can't think about that now either.

HP: 28/40
Damage: 5 (3+2 cold fire)

As soon as Shun drops, they look into its eyes again, and -- a hand in their hair, dragging them back so hard they feel like their scalp will bleed; he's not home he can't help them they're alone they're alone - the water almost gives out beneath them, sputtering into wild spurts; it's only by the virtue of the fact they have a shard of glass lodged in All-Seeing that they don't fall.

Alexis knows how to fall properly, sure, but...it's been a long time since they fell from this far up. They'd rather not risk it.

They set their teeth in a grim line (biting if it tries to grab them, to touch them), and stab the glass right into the most available eye.

Grimly, Jack watched her go. He had heard the sounds; he could only imagine the damage done to Shun.

"God ******** damn it," he muttered as he tied the jacket as instructed above where the tattoo lied. It proved a bit difficult, given that his jacket was utterly stained with blood and sticky as a result, and his hands were shaking, but he managed as tight of a knot as he could for the makeshift tourniquet.

If the bleeding was lessening on its own, though, then that meant maybe he had another shot at dragging Chel out. If he could, and if Temperance could stabilize Shun, maybe he could drive them to the hospital before the parking lot got trashed next.

He tested the connection first and grabbed Chel under her arms, dragging her to the next stall over, watching All-Seeing for any sign of reaction.

Shun turned as Temperance approached him. He wasn't entirely sure how he knew, but as with Jeremiah, he realized immediately that he was dealing with a fetch right now. His fingers twitched in apprehension.

He gritted his teeth and slowly moved his hand away. The eye itself remained shut for now.

"It ripped out my ******** eye," he stated lowly.

There was panic all around them. Screaming and fighting. As more people got injured, the more Marcus too wanted to run away. But that was what he would have done before. Before the court. Before he'd seen another time, another world. Now he was in Ashdown, his home. And now as scared as he was he also knew he couldn't run from his problems.

Or giant eyeball stealing monsters.

Lacking in knowledge of his magic, that he had any at all, he resorted to what he had on hand, that being his farmers market purchases. One being gourmet sea salt. It was the best he could think of. Salt drove off fae and evil spirits maybe it would drive off eyeball monsters? It was as good a guess as any other.

Screwing off the cap, he threw it at one rather large eyeball hoping it stung at the very least.

"I didn't deal with racism just to come back to this!"

It was the dragging that woke her. Weakly, feebly. It seemed the barrage of damage to All-Seeing was affecting his connection to Chel. Enough to stir her. She was still bleeding but it was beginning to crust and blot something ugly. Something that could be dealt with later.

And what did she see?

Jack, first. His hair stood out mostly, the line of his jaw more familiar than the rest of him.

(My head hurts, goddamn.)

A crowd, gathered around his most monstrous form. Chel had only seen him in a cave, small and clinging to the walls like mold clings to edges. Now he nearly blotted out the sky in darkness.

(What did I do?)

She tried to push herself to her knees. Screams were coming together. Shun looked bloody (his own? Others?). Bright fire from- who was that? He looked old. People running, large flesh walls.

(This is what I've done.)

She collapsed once and pushed again. She couldn't fix this, but she could still try. Further injury was a small price to pay for a debt so large.

Waking up had to be a good sign. He gently let her down, knowing that Chel, even a Chel slowly waking from a magical knock out, was scrappy and didn't enjoy being coddled; at best he could be used as something to help herself up by leaning. But the moment she was up, Jack grabbed her shoulder.

What Temperance had given him wasn't going to stick, but at least the wound was clotting at last. Nonetheless, she looked as pale as she had in his bathroom. And he knew her, knew at least a little what she was intending: to be as stubborn as ever.

And for a moment, Jack Hawthorn was scared. Damage hadn't been dealt before, not to people he actually cared about, but with Shun presumably suffering like so many of the civilians had, he realized that maybe for once there was going to be a large price exacted on them for meddling. His grip wasn't iron tight, but it was close.

"We need to get you out of here," he said, and he knew how token it was, and he hated it. "You've lost a lot of blood."

Temperance didn't say anything, but she frowned. "This will hurt a bit." She pulled up his eyelid gently, the blood trying to seal upper and lower together. Then she squirted some saline in the socket, pushing his head down so that it would drip out more easily. He needed to go to a hospital for treatment - there was no safe way for her to check how much of the orbital muscles were intact. Tilting his head back up, she applied a pad across his eye. It wasn't perfect, but it would stem the blood flow. Pushing his hair back, she taped it in place across his cheek and forehead. And then, she set another pad across that and repeated it. It applied pressure and helped immobilize some of the involuntary muscle spasms of the lids. Some, but not all. If he jerked his good eye side to side, he'd probably have an answering pain in the other socket.

She stepped back, using some of the saline to rinse off her hands. "Any chance you'd go to the hospital right now? You need to see a specialist to see how extensive the damage was." She felt like the answer was no.

Whoa, she almost blacked out there. Preacher moved forward, feeling as though her ribs were on fire (felt bruised, possibly broken - she'd felt like this before, but not for a while). She knew that she wouldn't be of much use in the fight soon, anyway. She had limits, however much she liked to pretend she did not. She pulled a pen out of her pocket and, angled it in her fist, aimed for another eye.

It knocked her back with a long, black tentacle and she laid there, hurting all over. Something seeped from her side and Preacher realized she'd fallen near some unfortunate table remains - it had ******** up bot her jacket and her side. Grunting, she rolled over and scooted until she could sit up, hand pressing against her side. The world was feeling a bit hazy and her mind drifted back.

Shun was getting restless, standing here while the fight still continued on, but the stayed put to allow Temperance to deal with his eye. He just hoped it wouldn't take too long. As she did the preliminary treatments, he grew tense. A sharp hiss escaped him while he did his best to remain still for the process. He was not looking forward to the hospital trip after all of this.

"Not now," he uttered. He couldn't leave right this moment. Not while he could still technically do things, "I will go immediately once this is dealt with."

There was a pause.

"...Thank you, though."
