[PRP] A Christmas Horror Story (Chel/Shun)

[chiickadee]

"Not datin' at all, or not datin' me?" Chel asked.

Her brows furrowed at the mention of Jack. She chose not to answer his question until he answered hers.  

[Blade Kuroda]

"Both?" he shrugged. He just wasn't really interested over all. Which did include her.  

[chiickadee]

She let out a long sigh.

"Alright. S'worth a shot." She didn't say anything more on the matter. She certainly had more she wanted to ask or bring up, but she also didn't push people. It was easier to put the blame on herself than it was to fight it.

"But don't act like I'll just ask whoever fer a date. Jack's Jack. He's not you." That part, at least, needed to be different.  

[Blade Kuroda]

Shun sighed as he settled down onto his chair with the cup of tea in hand. He took a sip, not really responding to that. He had recalled what Chel told him a few months back, but he still didn't understand it. Most likely, he never will either.  

[chiickadee]

Chel picked up her own mug and follow him, albeit to the chair nearest him.

"What, s'that awkward now? s**t I wouldn't've asked you f'you were gonna be all silent type."  

[Blade Kuroda]

Shun just sort of gave her a look.

"I am silent in general, Chel."  

[chiickadee]

Chel cracked a smile, as best she could. It still kind of hurt. "Yeah, yeah."

She sipped her tea in the quiet, her head on the side of the chair. "Y'think yer answer will ever change?"  

[Blade Kuroda]

Shun gave another shrug, "Not very likely. I mean, just consider the sort of person I am."

Things like love? Not really something he had in him, he felt.  

[chiickadee]

"Y'know m'not askin' fer yer hand in marriage, right?" she said, tilting her head. "M'not the sorta person fer it either." Chel was hardly love material.  

[Blade Kuroda]

Shun placed a hand to his face.

"I know, Chel. But that does not change anything."  

[chiickadee]

"Mm. Yer lucky you can just shut yer brain off t'all of it."  

[Blade Kuroda]

"I what?"  

[chiickadee]

"You can just say yer not good fer datin' and turn it all down like that." She sipped her tea. "S'not like I ain't tried that. Brain doesn't shut up though- eventually comes out of my stupid mouth, y'know?" It was maybe Chel's way of saying she'd thought about it too much. She spent a lot of time thinking about Shun.  

[Blade Kuroda]

"well only one between the two of us has a heart. I imagine that may play into it. "  

[chiickadee]

Chel rolled her eyes. "You have a heart. You just use it weirdly on s**t like Kaji and yer job. S'why m'sayin' yer lucky- I wanna do that too."
