Alright that was it. It was time to go to the pokecenter. Trying to ignore his pokemon with fierce determination, Adder stood, his back turned to them and his shoulders raised. "C'mon," he muttered, adjusting the meowth in his arms. The feline seemed a little curious about his behavior, looking up at him inquisitively, then at the other pokemon. Then at Adder again, then at the pokemon once more, as they followed along... on foot. A very catty, toothy grin crossed over its face as Adder adjusted her in his arms, her tail swishing rather contently. Well now... wasn't this a pleasant upgrade.

Returning, Adder couldn't help but... look at the box again. His gaze wandered over to it as he approached, and his head tipped a bit, letting him get a better look inside as he passed it. There was... there was some pretty good stuff in there.... He shifted, absently rolling his shoulders and righting his head, looking around in what was clearly an attempt at being casual but, in fact, made him look very much like he was trying to hide something. He did, at least, make it past it, though... But he couldn't help glancing back briefly. There was a sign there, now that he noticed... Apparently it was for new trainers. Made sense, it was right outside the lab. So then, uh... did that mean they could just take stuff? Kinda seemed that way... but for some reason, he didn't think it was...

Healing up his pokemon, he turned his attention to Popplio, staring at her as he tried to figure out what, exactly, was the best option here. She was sooooo weeeaaaaak.... and he was pretty sure there weren't any pokemon she had a type advantage over. She seemed to realize he was looking at her and turned, pouting and lowering her eyelids to give him a blunt stare, clearly silently asking "What?" His frown deepened and he stared back at her with round eyes. ".... Battle any of the weaker pokemon," he instructed in a flat, forced tone, before healing her up. She had such an attitude! Why did his mom have to insist on him getting a freaking popplio!?! She was worse than some of the girls at his school! Geez!

Adder blinked. He... whoa. He didn't really think that would... work. Pikipek was actually pretty strong! Huh! He absently caught Yungoos, after shifting the meowth in his arms. Unfortunately, having her was making it hard to actually bend down and get the pokeball, let alone release the pokemon. After struggling a bit, he stopped, looking up in surprise at a glowing light. Huh-- what? He squinted one eye, then turned his head a bit, tilting it so that his hat helped shade him from the glare, while trying to get a glimpse of what it was. Was... Wait, was Pikipek evolving!? He quickly straightened up, adjusting meowth, who meowed and moved in his arms to rest both her upper paws on his should, and lay against his chest. He rolled his eyes a little, then looked over at Pikipek in curious wonder, watching as the light faded to reveal... a trumbeak. "Huh..." Well... that was one more pokedex entry he didn't have to worry about.

Adder... actually... smiled as he watched Trumbeak loftily look itself over, and then begin preening his wings. He... he already had a pokemon evolve! HA! That was great. He quickly turned a sharp look to the others, two of whom (LittenandPopplio) jumped at the stare. "Do that," he demanded, pointing to Trumbeak. Popplio looked aghast and outraged at the order, while Litten immediately started wobbling and going dizzy with stress. He couldn't just evolve like that!! Rowlet gave a little chirp and fluttered up, using his wings to fan the near-fainting fire type. Popplio, on the other hand, narrowed her eyes, and Adder did the same. ".... Tch. Just go battle," he muttered after a moment, moving to just sit down, adjusting Meowth in his arms and finally grabbing up the pokeball from earlier. Popplio huffed, once again nearly blowing steam in her anger, before turning, and angrily stomping (as much as a seal could) off to take her frustration out on the wildlife.

Adder was just about to relax when he noticed a different pokemon curiously poke his head up. He scrambled to his feet so fast Meowth didn't even get a chance to try and cling to him before she was rolling off and onto the ground, yowling in annoyance. Adder didn't pay attention, though-- he was already grabbing a pokeball. He paused, looking as Grubbin scurried forward to take on the Pichu, his pokeball held up, at the ready. There was no way he was letting it run away this time. Especially not with it actually surviving one of Grubbin's attacks. That meant it at least wasn't super weak. it fainted after the other, which meant it wasn't super strong, either, but... pichu didn't need levels to evolve. And that... wasn't really his main concern, either.

It was filling his pokedex. He smirked as he picked up the pokeball, ignoring Meowth as she regained her composure and shot him an annoyed look. He'd keep this one for now, he figured, tucking it away, and see if he came across any stronger ones. If he did... he'd catch that one instead and train it. If not, though, he'd just keep the one he had. Speaking of, though... he was pretty sure he was getting a lot of the pokemon available, at this point. He glanced over as a Caterpie arrived, scrunching up his face a little. Actually... it would probably be good to catch that. He could probably evolve it pretty quickly, and easily, later. He healed up Rowlet and waited until Rowlet had knocked it out, then tossed a pokeball, catching the little bugger and sending it to the PC. With that done, though... he figured it was time to check out antoher area. Maybe he'd check out Ten Carat Hill....

As they did, Lana had some comments of her own in response to his. He simply gave a nod as she commended his dad on his taste for names. Sometimes he felt a bit weird that he didn't have a Japanese first name like his older brother, but he actually really liked his name. The southern tongued woman then asked about his family's dojo. "My grandfather teaches a mix of martial arts at the dojo. There, we train with fighting type pokemon as equals." Ducky replied, smiling. He was thinking that maybe he could introduce Jun when they get to the cave, since she could use the stretching and training. The Hakamo-o had been his partner in the dojo, after all. He's had her since she was a little jangmo-o. Lana next spoke of his litten and mentioned her rowlet's name. "It means 'beautiful moon'. I thought it was suitable, given her pale color. Aristotle sounds very sophisticated. My Rowlet, I named her Chikako." he commented, holding up a hand towards the owlet that was perched on his shoulder.

Her ears twitched back in annoyance as she heard her trainer refer to that damn bird as 'sophisticated'. She obviously disagreed with the statement. Chikako turned her gaze forward as they started to move to a new route, giving a soft hoot and gently nibbling one of ducky's fingers with her beak.
Daiki grinned at the lopunny's response. "Looks can be deceiving, my lovely." he commented with a toothy grin. He allowed his illusion to drop very briefly before taking it on. "Mm, i didn't say anything about being a saint, angel. I'd like to do some devilish things with you, if you let me." he smirked. He barely paid mind as the pig interrupted, noticing on his own that Ducky and Lana were moving along. The illusioned fox watched the lopunny move ahead, swaying her hips in an alluring manner. "Oh, I'll come alright..." he replied, catching up with her quickly.

Ajicka highly doubted those items would last long. There was some good stuff in there now. She looked around, then frowned, her brow furrowing a moment. Why did she have the feeling....
A few minutes later, Ajicka was hopping a ledge and making her way down to the lab, a slight smile on her face. Deoxys appeared up ahead, catching her attention, and she quirked an eyebrow. What was that.... a cave? Huh. It was... Hm... Actually, now that she thought about it, she'd asked around and there were Sableye in there... She had thought maybe she could train while she was here, but she doubted the pokemon were that strong. Adder tugged off his hat, strangely garnering the curious attention of several of his pokemon. Honestly... Litten thought it might have been glued on there. He wryly conceded to magnetism when, after running his hand through his thick blond hair, Adder immediately pulled it back on, and glanced around, as if expecting someone might have been trying to steal it. The feline sighed and deflated warily, watching his trainer as they started past the lab. While nowhere near as crestfallen as Popplio, Litten got the distinct impression that... no one was really happy on this team. The whole scenario was all so... exceptionally strange. Adder either didn't seem to care, though, or he wasn't as aware of it as his pokemon were-- it may be he was just too focused on his own mission, for the time being. Which explained why he headed straight for the tall grass again. Litten gave a small mewl of disappointment, tail swishing anxiously. More training... he still wasn't sure how to feel about all that. He... hadn't done too badly himself, but that wasn't the case for everyone. It ought to be easier now, with them all a bit stronger, but still.... he was anxious.

Adder healed everyone up, noticing his pokemon's individual behaviors. Litten seemed nervous, as always. Popplio was avoiding looking at him -- pouting, probably. Rowlett, Grubbin, and Trumbeak all seemed fairly passive or neutral, ready to battle, but not eager. Crystal was already simply lounging on the grass. She seemed very aware -- or perhaps expectant -- that she was not a battle pokemon. She was a praising pokemon. Something to be pampered. Were all meowths this arrogant? Geeze... He tried not to roll his eyes, well aware he still needed to... 'befriend', her, and looked up as a Grubbin appeared. He urged Popplio forward, this time, and folded his arms over his chest as he watched the battle. He paused as he considered something, though, and straightened up a bit as he told her to use growl. She gave him a look, but turned, growling cutely at the opponent. Adder glanced down as he noticed Litten shifting anxiously, and looked back up to figure out why-- only to see a Pikachu leap out of the grass, coming to the pokemon's aide. Oh... He frowned, but buckled down, telling Popplio to knock the opponent out, and folding his arms over his chest. So.... it did work. He blinked, though, when the grubbin called for help yet again, and this time a Pichu appeared. Puffing out his cheeks, Adder was ready to have Popplio knock out the original pokemon, but upon seeing another electric, she promptly spun around, eyes wide, and quickly, but stiffly, made her way right back to them. He stared down at her.
"... Tch." He made a noise of annoyance, and shifted his weight to one side. "Pan...""Muun..." she muttered in an annoyed tone. She moved forward, twitching in irritation as she took a few hits, before promptly knocking into the grubbin, taking it out. She grimaced as the Pichu persisted, and... proceeded to survive her hit. Adder frowned, but jerked forward, his eyes widening when he saw Pan buckle. Sh... she was going to faint!? "Pan! Litten, get in there!" he urged, panicked, looking down at the cat. The fire pokemon jumped, but ran forward, biting into the electric mouse with flaming teeth. Adder was too busy rushing forward to Pan to even notice the new attack, but glanced over, his arms wrapped around his munchlax with a frown. The pichu was still up... It was really strong... it had to be. He paused, then stood, recalling Pan to give her a rest, and, ultimately... tossing a pokeball. This one seemed a lot tougher than the other one...

Adder released the weaker pichu, who, having not been healed, stumbled off, dizzy eyed and barely conscious. He healed up his other pokemon, so they could continue to train, and released the recently caught, fighter-chu. "ChuuuuuUuuUuUUUUu....~" The pokemon flopped down, still, clearly, a bit out of it from the battle. Adder raised an eyebrow, sitting down before it, and pulling Crystal into his arms. He waited until the pichu shook itself, focusing in on him, and looking at him curiously, though it didn't get up. Then, suddenly-- it did. As if realizing something, it leaped to its feet, and began frantically looking around. "Chu? Chu?" Adder frowned, his brow furrowing as he looked at it. He watched as it spotted the grubbin it had came to help before, and promptly ran over, despite it's own worse-for-ware condition. "Pipi! Pichuuu!" it encouraged, trying to help the pokemon up. It gave it a sudden shock, and, oddly-- that seemed to help. "Chaaa....~" It didn't do much for the pichu, though, which dropped back down, dizzy eyed. It shook its head, recovering more quickly this time, while Adder watched the whole interaction.
