The response was slow this time, and given that it was someone else that had been replying while Zak busied himself, there was no reason it should have been taking this long to get a reply... The next message finally came through, and Scarlett frowned, eyes narrowing. Zak had taken control again. A pity, really. Meebus had been fun to chat with. Very informative too. She knew that eventually Zak would find them out, but still, she hadn't expected him to catch on so quickly, and now it seemed that Meebus had gotten into trouble because of it. Not that it was really her fault. Zak had been the one who'd instructed him to take over messaging for him. Meebus seemed.... Intelligent, from the brief interaction she'd had with them. Smart with their words, discreet. Then again, it made sense. Zak wouldn't be so stupid as to put someone mindless on the communicator, so if Meebus had given a name, it had been intentional. She wasn't sure what was going on, but she wanted to find out, and she hoped that her helpful little informant was okay.

Keep calm, don't flaunt the new information. He was likely pissed enough as it was, given how much he tried to keep his name secret to her, probably because he knew she could use it if she wanted to. As flattered as I am, I can't say I have quite as much to offer as Meebus. However, I am getting closer to joining you in Iki Town. I have about eight eggs left, or will, shortly.
Well, wasn't that nice? She could already tell just by his response that some of the damage had been mitigated by her tact. After all, he was talking to her. If that wasn't indicative, she wasn't sure what could be. That was useful to know... Playing to his ego, not flaunting her newfound information, it was a solid strategy to help him calm down, and it worked. In fact, if she recalled correctly, flattery had always earned her good responses, so she supposed she should keep that up. She didn't want to ruin the evening after all. She still wanted to talk to him, to have some fun. There was no need to fan the flames... Yet. It was satisfying enough for Scarlett just to know the hell he was probably going through. The same hell he had put her through the moment he revealed that he knew her name. Mind racing, trying to figure out what could be gleaned from that sort of information, what preventative measures could be taken. It wasn't a pleasant feeling, she should know.
In fact, she was surprised he wasn't making nastier comments. Sure, he was being a little passive aggressive and making remarks that could be interpreted in a few ways that suggested he was still very clearly angry about what had occurred. Not that she blamed him of course, but he wasn't using it as an excuse to be an a*****e to her. Maybe he really did want this reward after all. Actually, it was odd. She felt... Calm. She was certainly being more patient with him now than usual. Maybe it was because she had leverage and they both knew it, so she wasn't going to get irritated by his remarks because they were justified, nor was she going to rub it in his face unless he decided to be a complete a*****e and deserved it.

The warmth tropic air of Alola soon filled the groups lungs. They were finally back in the southern hemisphere. Kanto was all well in good with weather, but nothing could beat a tropic breeze. Arietty angled down, diving towards the small little hamlet below them. The festivies were in full swing now, trainers, locals, everyone was enjoying themselves to some extent. Before Mave could fully make her landing, Tay had leaped off the wolf's back and was dashing to meet Avikna as Arietty made her landing as well. "Avikna look at all the festival lights!" She shouted, holding her hands together and hopping in place, Avikna felt the teen was going to take off herself. "Calm down. The festival is meant to last for several weeks, we have plenty of time to look at everything it has to offer." Avikna replied, though she wasn't entirely to eager to spend more then a few days here. Where were they meant to sleep? A Hotel? Likely booked up entirely... looks like they'd be camping. Tay eagerly shuffled in place, but then a melodic voice echoed from behind them. "Alola, travelers. Welcome to the Fesitival." A woman dressed down in a traditional alolan garb for a dancer. Complete with Coconut bra and grass skirt. Her wrists, ankles and even her head was surrounded by tied flowers, a odd fairy-like Pokemon floated over tossing a flowery necklace around Avikna and Tay's neck. Avikna pulled off her scarf, given it was to warm to be wearing it anyway. She left the flower necklace on for the time being. "Would you happen to be taking part in the egg hunt?" The woman inquired? "If so, the prize booth is right over there, you can exchange the cute little shells inside the egg for prizes." She motioned with what seemed to be a dance move towards a series of booths complete with a full orray of items. "Oh! lets go there first Avikna!" Tay exclaimed, reaching out and grabbing the red-head by her hand, tugging her along behind her.
Avikna gave in... it wasn't like she had planned on going anywhere specific anyway. Mave and Arietty took to the sky overhead, finding a place off to the side to perch and watch over the festivities. Tay's first stop was a booth offering TM's and the like, none of which interested the teen. She knew what they were, she simply didn't feel she needed any of them. On to the next booth she looked back at Avikna with a curious gaze. "Avikna..." She began. "How many shells to I have to spend?" She inquired. "Five shells per egg, missy. 'lest they should all have five shells." A helpful sounding male offered. Good thing, since Avikna didn't know. "How many you got there little miss?" He inquired. "Fifty!" Tay responded, opening her pouch to reveal the plethora of eggs hidden within. "Woah! All fifty! You certainly kept your mom busy didn't yea? Haha, anyway. fifty eggs means two-hundred fifty shells to spend." Avikna sneered at the mother comment, glancing away. Tay seemingly missed it, eagerly looking down at the prizes in front of her. She then looked back to Avikna with again, a curious gaze. "Do you want anything?" She asked. Avikna looked back to the teen, shaking her head. "You did the work, they're yours to spend on what you want." Tay pursed her lips in thought, then turned back to the booth one more time. She finally made her choices. Offering over the eggs, she waited patiently while the male quickly double checked to make sure all fifty eggs were accounted for and that they had all the shells inside. Luckily enough, none of Tay's eggs had been tampered with and she was leaving the booth with a Venasaurite and and two Crystal shards.
After she'd calmed down some. The duo went and found some booths serving food. Getting sometime small from the booth, they then ventured off to find someplace to sit. It was rather hard, but eventually they found a place within the treeline near a path that lead up towards the large mountain behind Iki Town. Releasing their Pokemon, now having the room, the group got to relax and eat their meal. Nepherit ventured over to Avikna, snuggling close. The red-head pulled out another Sweet Heart for the vixen, which she graciously devoured.

Ashley paused in his furious typing and refinement to look at the communicator as it went off again, retrieving it and looking at the message. His head titled ever so slightly to the side, eyebrow quirking just a bit. Hm… scare tactics? That was… surprising. He was rather certain his comment would’ve earned him some ambiguous response that would’ve left him guessing the legitimacy of the threat. Make him wonder and panic and all that pathetic jazz individuals were prone to do.
But no. They were straightforward. Or mostly straightforward. Surprisingly so. He caught the ‘mon ami’ part; a bit of a giveaway. He thought a moment. At this point, the logical thing was to cease communication with the individual, just focus and launch this tracking to find them that way. As light filtered in from the windows, consciousness returned to the young man lying in bed. A groggy fog clouded his vision as he awoke in the tropical region, the blur clearing up after a few, short blinks. It was a few more minutes before he finally climbed out of bed, his mind taking that long to finally awaken after a long, comfortable slumber. The two greeted each other for the morning, Nova having seemingly returned to her pokeball sometime in the night. Ready to get moving again, Zero popped into the bathroom for a brief shower, to wash away all remaining fatigue and grogginess.
Once he was out, the young trainer finally felt more alert, back to the sharpness from before he went on his hunt. Now that he was properly awake, he made his way out the door, and to start the day off with a proper meal. A solid conclusion to leave him to his own devices while she could sit back and enjoy the luau. Another message and Ashley took his time to look at it. He was like deathly focused at this point; painfully so. He snatched it up though once he could tear his attention away, staring at the message he’d been sent. Well it was good to know someone could use an internet translator. It certainly would’ve been a shame to get something asking him what he’d said. He read it over and grew a bit more annoyed, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose again.
So much for bluffing. If he’d had any remaining skepticism it was whipped away. The reveal was… surprising to be honest. While in all honest he had rather…. ‘neutral’ feelings for most of his family, save for Dandy, the fact this individual mentioned them at all was concerning. Tch.
Text to Zak: It is ‘petit’ if you are talking to a man. And I do not know. Most hackers go to a forum to boast of their exploits; not contact those they’ve hacked in the middle of it. It is … unorthodox. And while I appreciate your ‘warnings’, you must understand, I prefer to protect information, especially when you shouldn’t have it. And if what you say is true… then I have more reason to stop you. You are a threat in your own right and admit as much. I’m not really one to ideal around and wait for things to come to me. But then again you sound so confident… so why worry?
Ashley was agitated, there was no hiding that. But he wasn’t entirely worried yet. Because well, the information he thought important he knew this person didn’t have. And for now, that kept him mostly centered and focused. Calm, though there was no work around for the bit of a sting to his ego now. He focused on the computer again, staring a bit at the code and programming and recalling what had happened, annoyed.
And then someone was talking to him. He couldn’t help but look agitated, snapping a quick glance at the woman who had questioned if the seat beside himwas free. A fierce red head with proportions most women would probably kill to have; looking as though she was here to enjoy the festivities. It did dawn on him that there was a luau going on and it seemed to be coming to a head; eventually more would show up as they completed their egg hunt to participate. He took a breath to calm himself and shook his head.

Scarlett nodded in thanks as Ashe gave his consent to take the seat, quickly making herself comfortable. She had noted however, the crisp clean way in which he pronounced his English with the slight French accent. "Ooh~ Êtes-vous du Kalos? Le français est une belle langue. Nous pouvons parler en français si vous le souhaitez." She offered with a smile. It really was such a nice language and she had only been in Kalos for a short period of time, so she certainly wouldn't mind continuing to speak in and practice her French. It was so seldom that she found the opportunity with a partner. She did happen to notice his scowl however, and upon commenting, thankfully he didn't seem too upset with her prying, and even explained the reason behind the scowl. "Ah, well no wonder you looked so unhappy. If work interfered with my vacation, I'd be scowling too." He had closed his laptop however, so clearly whatever issues work had posed, they were either under control, or he simply decided he would much rather talk to her instead. Ashley nodded and maneuvered a little better into his chair, adjusting the Gekkit when he recalled the creature was still there. It seemed it drifted off to sleep at this point so he did his best not to disturb it. His eyebrows rose a bit when she spoke in French, expression going from surprise to an easy smile. It was very rare to find someone else speaking in his native tongue; much less in a competent fashion. He certainly hadn’t caught any hints of an accent when she spoke English though from her words, he had feeling she was simply a connoisseur of different languages.
"Oui, Madame, je suis. Vous avez déjà visité là? Votre Français est très bon. C’est en effet une belle langue; Je suis heureux c’est ma langue maternelle." He remarked back, chuckling a bit at her comment. Offering to continue in the language? That was also something new; refreshing even. "Si vous le souhaitez, Madame. Je n’obligerait pas quelqu'un pour parler dans une langue qu’ils ne sont pas à l’aise avec cependant. L'anglais est très bien si vous préférez." He replied. Which was true; though he had a feeling she offered more so for her own personal preference rather than his benefit. Which was fine honestly, it was a nice change of pace all the same.
He nodded absently as she agreed on his remark about work, reminders of his agitation returning as he recalled. Ah yes… if it was really just work. Drumming his fingers absently atop his leg, he focused back on Scarlett as she expressed her opinion on the scenery, painting quite the poetic picture that made him give another silent chuckle. It was almost like one of his novels; but in real life and not as poorly written.
"That is a beautiful way to describe it madam. I am happy to hear that you will enjoy it." He remarked and gave an appreciative nod at the sympathy she offered. "Merci." Yeah, if work let up. That probably wasn’t going to happen in time for him to really enjoy himself but, he’d try to keep the glass half-full just for this instance. He watched her sip the drink, eyebrow quirking as she inquired both his name and his drinking habits.
"Fontaine. Ashley Fontaine." He remarked, placing a hand to his chest and giving a little bit of a bow as he introduced himself. "You are welcome to call me Ashe, if it is easier." He knew some people got a little tripped up on his name; Scarlett didn’t seem the type but, well, it was worth offering. "And yourself, madam?"
He looked at her drink as well, giving a slight shake of his head. "Ah non. I unfortunately try to avoid drinking if I am in ze middle of work." He looked thoughtful a moment, smile returning just a bit. "Though your drink looks quite tempting. I may need to break my own rules just this once. It would not be a vacation otherwise, no?"

Scarlett took notice of the gekkit sleeping in Ashe's lap now that he'd closed his computer. She remembered when Luna used to be that small and innocent. The thought put a smile to Scarlett's lips, but she didn't regret the amazing creature Luna was now. Drawing her attention back to Ashe himself, she payed careful attention to his reaction when she spoke in French. She always got such varying reactions from this sort of thing. It was a risky move, but one that she liked to attempt, using the language or accent that she picked up from another. Thankfully, Ashe seemed to be the type to appreciate her use of French as he smiled, which was genuine rather than forced, before responding in kind. "J'ai visité plusieurs fois, mais pas assez. Je vous remercie. Je suis un linguiste, donc entendre cela d'un locuteur natif est flatteur. Vous devriez être fier de votre langue." Her smile only widened as the conversation went on. "Je suis très à l'aise. Je n'ai pas beaucoup d'occasions de pratiquer mon français, donc j'aimerais l'opportunité." She insisted. "Franchement, je vous suis reconnaissant de ne pas être contrarié. Certains ne l'admettent pas quand je reconnais leur langue maternelle ou leur accent et leur parle dans la même langue. Je trouve cela triste." She sighed, shaking her head. "Au moins, vous comprenez." Her tone was quite grateful. It was nice to be able to have a conversation and not worry about stepping on landmines.
Even though he insisted that she could speak in English if she so desired, he seemed genuinely happy with her offer, and on top of the opportunity to speak in French, she couldn't possibly stop now. However, he also appreciated her English as well, complementing her description for the scenery here, and that put a smile to Scarlett's face. Language and archeology were her life, so she took any compliments to her ability to heart. However, she soon realized they had yet to introduce themselves. "Ashley Fontaine... Quel nom élégant." She had little trouble reproducing the name, after all, as she had said, she specialized in linguistics. She smiled congenially, amused and impressed by the way he was able to perform a small nodding sort of bow with such grace even while sitting. "Lequel préfères-tu? Je ne trouve pas cela difficile dans les deux sens." Unfortunately, there was the difficult matter of giving her own name. She liked him so much that she was tempted to give her real name, but that was a bad idea for a multitude of reasons. As much as she wanted to, she couldn't afford to trust this stranger. "Natalia Marquee, un plaisir de vous rencontrer." She nodded in kind.
Then of course, there was the matter of drinks which, much like Skye, he claimed to avoid while in the middle of work. "Ah, je comprends..." She suggested with some resigned disappointment. However, when Ashe seemed to reconsider, Scarlett chuckled, a mischievous smile playing on her lips. "Je pense que vous avez assez travaillé. Vous êtes en vacances après tout. Si vous avez pris un verre, je n'ai rien vu." She glanced around up and away, then behind her shoulder innocently after motioning one of the severs over for Ashe, pretending not to look. She couldn't really retain her composure for long however, laughing a little at her own antics.

Ashley listened thoughtfully as the conversation continued, noting that Scarlett seemed very keen to continue in French which kept the slight smile on his face. Ah, a linguist. That certainly made sense then; he couldn’t imagine not getting to practice something that one was so devoted too. He understood it took quite an amount of time to learn another language and several? Well, that was impressive.
"C’est une honte. Je devrais espère que vous avez la chance de visiter plus souvent. Kalos est une région magnifique. Et vous êtes les bienvenus. Un linguiste? C’est intéressant; Je peux dire que vous avez vraiment un amour pour elle. En effet, je suis fier de ma langue, c’est magnifique." He mused with a smile. He did enjoy his language; one goo trait to have inherited from his family at least. And of course, it had its own magic to it, making even the harshest things sound… beautiful. He found himself with the same level of appreciation for technology, with code and programs like different languages and countries. He could understand the feeling.

Ashley nodded a bit, noting the hint of disappointment in her words as she spoke of the lack of appreciation. It seemed a shame that some who specialized in languages would encounter backlash. "C’est triste. Certaines personnes mais ne voient pas mimétisme comme une forme de flatterie. Ne le prends pas trop à coeur." He commented with a sympathetic nod. People were people after all; with strange quirks and preferences. If someoen honestly attempting to show interest (an honest interest) in their heritage caused them to bristle, then they were foolish.
He chuckled a bit as she called his name elegant. Those weren’t quite the words he would’ve associated with it if he were to be honest but then again, he knew the reason for him being named as much. Ashley supposed in a way, if one didn’t know that information, it did flow together well. "Merci. Ça marche pour moi." Chuckling he adjusted his glasses again, taking in her name as she introduced herself. Natalia Marquee…. Interesting. "Un nom charmant pour une belle dame." He tilted his head as he realized he had not answered her earlier question in regards to what he’d prefer to be called, giving only a slight shrug. "Qui a jamais vous préférez Madame. C’est votre choix." He really had no preference after all.
As the conversation continued regarding drinks, he noted the disappointment, an eyebrow quirking slightly. It wasn’t often someone expressed such over someone else’s decision not to drink, but he chuckled when his change of thought seemed to catch her interest and became even more amused as she waved a server over, indeed pretending as though she were not a witness. It was amusing and at this point, he supposed it would be best to play along. He really could use something to take the edge off.

Gazing over towards Tay as she ate whatever the heck she was eating. The red-head noticed her showing off the large marble-shaped object to all her Pokemon. She was overly excited about holding the stone, it made Avikna curious. "Tay?" The red-head spoke, gaining the teen's attention. "Why of all things did you get that?" Tay cocked her head in though, then turned and crawled over to Avikna. "Well... It spoke to me." She replied. The sincerity into her eyes, and the seriousness of her tone confused Avikna. "Spoke to you?" She asked. Tay nodded several times, holding up the stone, not before pulling it back and tilted her head once more. "Well, not so much as "spoke" but.. I don't know.. it felt as though I'd need it for something." She added. Avikna held out her hand, to which Tay placed the marble in her open palm, knowing that was what Avikna wanted. Holding the stone up closer, she recognized the cat-eye in the center of the marble. "It's a megastone." How had she not realized sooner? Her attention hadn't really been on the display table, but knowing now that they were giving out Megastones she was somewhat upset she didn't participate. Whatever the case, she handed back the Megastone to Tay. "I'm not sure what Pokemon it belongs to though." "Uh... I do." Kezia slipped down beside Avikna, gazing at the Megastone in Tay's hands. "I... have like, memories somewhat flooding in when I saw it... Like... images flashing past me.. That stone, it mega evolves... Venasaur?" Avikna fully brought her attention to the Zoroark. "Do you remember anything else?" Kezia shook her head quickly, appearing defeated. "A Venasaur?" Tay inquired. "Yes. It's the final stage of Bulbasaur, a Pokemon native in Kanto." Avikna supplied. Tay pursed her lips in thought, hugging the stone close. "If we had a Ragecandybar I'd say we could go back to Kanto, but sadly we don't.
The conversation fell apart from there. Tay went back to showing the stone off to her companions, while also discussing the use of the Crystal Shards with them. Arietty herself had noticed a familiar scent, but only recently noticed him flying around in the air. The Charizard moved forward, gaining Avikna's attention with her muzzle. "What is it, Arietty?" Avikna inquired. The Charizard then pointed her nose up to the sky, showing the Charizard flying in the distance. "Huh? Let me guess, you wanna go fly with them?" Arietty nodded. She couldn't really tell Avikna that was Jas, and that Ajicka was likely nearby. If only she could speak human. Thankfully one of them could. 'That ain't no average everyday Charizard X, Avikna.'Mave pipped in. Arietty grunted some thanks to Mave. "What?" Mave sat down beside Avikna, gazing up to the sky. 'It's Jas, Ajicka's Charizard. Seems she's somewhere around here also.' "Oh? Huh, Well I had seen her earlier... So she took part in the egghunt too? Well, whatever .We'll run into one another eventually, I would think. Go on, Arietty have fun." The Charizard wasted no time, bobbing her head and spreading her wings to take off.
Within less than a minute, Arietty was around 15 feet from Jas, though in the sky they appeared far closer. 'Jaaas!' The lizard called, breaking her forward momentum to fly in place. She showed a confident grin seeing the fellow Charizard she'd come to regard as a friend. 'Is Ajicka here as well?' She inquired for Avikna's sake.

Scarlett nodded in agreement as Ashe suggested that Kalos was a beautiful area. "C'est. J'ai l'intention de visiter à nouveau une fois que j'ai fini ici. Yes, she had rushed here because she wasn't sure how close Zak was to finishing, but she hadn't had the chance to battle through Kalos gyms like she had with the other areas. Mostly because the eggs on her list weren't in any of the first few gyms, so it seemed like a waste of valuable time if it wasn't on her way. Not that she had a problem with returning to the region later. She honestly did enjoy the cute shops and cafes among the beautiful architecture. Lumiose was a little too much for her, but every other area wasn't nearly as large and crowded.
Scarlett continued to nod in appreciation as Ashe commented on her obvious love for language. "Merci~" She chuckled. She should have conversations with other people more often. It seemed a lot more easy and pleasant than with Zak. Then again, she couldn't exactly talk about herself, her interests, or reveal that she could speak in other languages around him, for fear that he would use it against her. That was probably why things between them could get so.... Bristly, or at least that's how it was on her end. Speaking of Zak, she commented how she was grateful to Ashe for being understanding rather than upset at her want to speak in French with him. He made a good point though, how it was obvious she was genuinely interested and not using French just to insult him. "C'est vrai, mais même alors, certaines personnes se sentiront encore offensées." She suggested with a shrug and a light shake of the head. She found it amusing however, when Ashe used the same argument she had. "C'est ce que je dis toujours! Ashe understood though. He was sympathetic, something Scarlett appreciated. It was refreshing actually. Zak was never someone she expected sympathy or understanding from, but it was times like this where she realized.... It was nice to have someone who could provide it. Scarlett quirked a brow however when Ashe seemed to feel less inclined to think much of his name. "Non? Connaissez-vous le sens de votre nom? Ashley signifie vivre dans le bosquet de frênes. Of course, Ashley was considered a girls name nowadays, which could be the reason behind his displeasure, but Scarlett didn't point that out. Actually, she personally saw it more as a gender neutral, given it's old English masculine connotation, which she could point out if he brought up any issues he had with the name's gendering. "Le nom peint une belle photo." After giving her false name, Scarlett chuckled sheepishly as Ashe complimented her. "Merci pour le compliment.... When asked for his name preference between Ashe or Ashely, Ashe simply replied that it was up to her, having no preference–or at least preferring not to voice one–on which she used. There, she could sneak in just a tiny bit of indication that she didn't see Ashley as too feminine without really indicating the issue directly. It was quite clever, if she did say so herself.

Ajicka had spent the night well outside of Iki Town, hidden off in the outskirts with Jas. She'd slept there, but woke up early, as per usual, and because, well... sunlight. Jas rumbled as she woke him up, and offered to get him food, before she stood and stretched. She grabbed him something from the pokecenter first, which he ate eagerly, before giving her an affectionate nod, and rising to the skies to stretch his wings. She swiped the empty tray and headed back inside to get herself, and her other pokemon, fed, and was sitting at a table, reading up on some news and goings ons, when Zero entered. She glanced up, not quite as he did, but shortly thereafter, checking as she had been for him, and giving him a nod and a slight wave of acknowledgement, before she went back to reading. It wasn't clear whether she expected him to join her or anything, but... that was probably because she didn't care. He could, or he could go sit elsewhere if he preferred. She, sadly, still wasn't the sort to exactly be overly friendly.
Jas, meanwhile, was enjoying being in the air again. Ajicka had given him his Charizardite X back, and he was twirling and getting readjusted back to it, content with the familiarity. His Y form had certainly been more streamline, but he preferred his X. Not that he wouldn't change back if Ajicka needed him to, for some reason, but.... He blinked and halted himself, righting in the air and looking over at the call. He gave a bellowed greeting in return. "Arietty!" He was partially tempted to swoop over and tackle her affectionately, but she'd kept her distance, so he maintained a friendly distance as well, and bobbed his head to the question. "Bellow, yeah. She's eating I think. Did your trainer come too??" he asked curiously. He wasn't as good with names, though he was pretty sure it was sort of similar to Ajicka's? Either way, he was happy to see another familiar face. He'd been off exploring for so long, Ajicka's had been the first in a long time. And he hadn't expected to see any more while with her, given her... general tendencies. But now, first Ashen, and now Arietty! The sky was going to be full of charizards, at this rate...
