Well, I have to say that I was in a denial when I started looking at anything homosexual. I was poisened by the ga=bad idealism that I got from some of my friends and what was then a popular idea. Now, I got no problems with it. ^_^ Oh the Smexinessssss!

I've always loved two boys kissing, but I thought boys going at it was a bit creepy at first. But also interesting. And my curiosity got the hold on me, so I looked a bit into it. Then I found fanfics, doujinshis, animes and stuff like that which contained graphic male/male sex. Then I was like, "Oh my god, why haven't I done this before?". I'm totally addicted now.

Well I have really only known about anime for a little more then a year. So my love of shonen ai would be only a few months.

I don't remember, it was a long time ago... Hmm, maybe at first. Not just because it was two guys making out, but because I'd never even been into het coupling, let alone slash and shonen-ai. I didn't really give a damn about love and relationships, kissing still weirded me out. Uhh, I must have been around 10 or 11. I'm surprised, too, that a lot of girls don't like it. :<

At first, I was taught that being homosexual was morally wrong because my mother is very religious. I cracked jokes on gays, but was never showed any discrimination towards them directly. Even though I was taught that being gay was against the Bible or whatever, I was also taught that people should be treated equally.
After I did some growing, got into my late teens and discovered anime, I learned about slash, lemon, yaoi, BL, yuri, so on and so forth. Later on, I figured out that attractive malexmale interested me. Though I (til this day) do not like the thought of watching yuri or engaging in girlxgirl stuff, I do find male homosexuality exciting.

I was merely a bit surprised that fanfics and fanart about it existed since I discovered it early during my first contacts with the internet.

About age 11, I started writing stories with mostly teenage male characters, and they almost always ended up pairing off.
Weird thing, I didn't even know that was "Yaoi" until a friend introduced me to the Internet, and i found so very much more similar stuff. *flush*
*shrugs* ^^
