Down by the water, Shiisa shook her great furry coat. She hadn't swum for a long time, but being with Suicune had egged her on to return to the water. She loved water, thanks to the Suicune that had raised her, but goodness she'd forgotten how much she hated being wet! Suicune chuckled as Shiisa rolled in the grass with earnest, trying to dry herself. "Here, my child, let me help you." Suicune lifted its head and a warm wind blew, ruffling Shiisa's fur. Shiisa gave herself one last shake as Suicune turned its attention to the tree line. "Now, would you like to see your brothers?"
Shiisa perked up. "They're here?" She whined, pawing the dirt with excitement. Last time she'd seen them they'd been mere pups, tiny little things unfit for travel. She'd been so excited to be a big sister, and yet the growlithe had left before they could grow too large. Suicune smiled, glad Shiisa was excited, and led her towards the trees.
Curled up in the shade was a big white lump, it's chest rising slowly. It seemed to shimmer in the heat, but a cold wind stirring the air by Shiisa's feet told her that wasn't the case. The great dog leaned forward, sniffing curiously. Speckles of frost whooshed into her nose and she gave a great sneeze. The bottom of the blob surged to its feet, alert. "Fla!" The top of the blob fell off in a poof of snowflakes.
The Flurry rolled around, enjoying the frosted grass Suicune had frozen for them earlier. He plopped a big fuzzy paw on the Lupup, pushing on his chest. Lupup took in Shiisa next to Suicune and quickly recognized the scent of the arcanine and her distinctive coat. With a yip of joy he knelt down to n** Flurry's ear, getting a mouth full of flurries in the process. He made to run towards the two pokemon but Flurry wouldn't let him, wrapping his paws around Lupup's neck and heaving him over. The two tumbled through the grass, yipping and growling as they play fought.
Shiisa's ears twitched with amusement and her paws twitched to join them. If she were still a growlithe she would have, but as an arcanine she was too big to join in play such as this. Shiisa lowered herself to the ground with a thump, growling contentedly. It was good to see her old family. Oh! And introducing them to her new family would be such fun for everyone! Shiisa quivered, hardly able to sit still at the thought.
The fight between brothers was an oddity. Lupup would leap forward only to burst through the Flurry as it raced away, a cloud of snowflakes where its body had once been. The longer they played, the lighter Flurry got. Eventually Lupup rolled over, admitting defeat. Flurry wavered and appeared beside him. A frosted breeze from Suicune helped to solidify his form once again. Flurry shook himself, grateful for the nourishing cold.
"Big sister!" Lupup cried, rolling over and leaping towards Shiisa at last. He scrambled from her paw to her back, growling and gnawing on her ear playfully. "I knew it was weird how Suicune was acting!"
Flurry hurried to join them and burst into a cloud of snowflakes in his haste. Shiisa could hardly feel him as he climbed her side; his touch was light and her fur so thick she couldn't feel the cold of his presence. "Yeah, yeah. Suicune, you shoulda told us you were bringing us to see sis!" Flurry fluttered into view perched between Shiisa's great shoulder blades.
Flurry appeared to be fading, leaving a wet patch where his extra snowflakes melted on Shiisa's fur. Suicune tsked and blew another cold breeze Flurry's way. Shiisa shivered, but bared with it even as it chilled her skin. She was a bit too warm for Flurry, but not being able to make contact would have been worse than the cold. It wasn't good for the little kit to get too warm.
"When'd you evolve, though?" Flurry squished his paws into Shiisa's furry mane, amazed at how much fur there was. Shiisa growled lightly, turning her head towards Flurry. Lupup yipped in surprise and fell flat on her head, biting a bit harder than necessary on her ear. Shiisa raised a paw to swipe at him playfully...and accidentally knocked him clear off her head. "Nyup!" He twisted, latching on to Shiisa's paw, and rode it down to the ground.
"Ah! Sorry... I forgot I'm a bit bigger now..." Shiisa may have been an Arcanine for a while now, but she hadn't interacted much with smaller pokemon. She'd had her human Arezu on her back -and the little black fox as well- but she hadn't really played with any of her other traveling companions like this. "I evolved a long time ago. I've been trying to find you ever since. My human and I traveled across many lands."
Lupup dug his claws unconsciously into Shiisa's paw, but so thick was her fur she didn't notice. "Your...human?" He stared hard at the ground. "Oh yes! I like traveling with my human! I'd almost forgot, you all should meet her! She's a pokemon trainer, so we can have fun battles too." Shiisa leaped to her feet in her excitement, and Lupup and Flurry tumbled off. "Come! I'll take you to her!" She bounded off. Forgetting, perhaps, that her smaller companions couldn't run nearly as fast.
Flurry raced after her, a barely perceptible flutter of snow on the breeze. The sight of them and their destination made Lupup's chest tighten with worry. He raced behind them, heart beating fast in his small chest. Slow down! Slow down! Stop going that way! Was this panic? Fear? Why should he be afraid of someone Shiisa approved of so much? Lupup ran on, whining softly in confusion. Why was he so anxious?
Suicune loped softly beside them. It had noticed Lupup, but kept a distance. The promise with the pup's parents would be honored- no matter how hard it was to do so. Some lessons had to be learned on one's own.
"Uhh...should I be worried?" Arezu looked into the distance as Shiisa's black shape raced back towards her. Ai blinked the sleep from her eyes and stretched luxuriously. "I swear to Arcy, every time that Arcanine comes back she brings someone new." Ai shook herself and looked calmly at the newcomers, though she felt uneasy inside. More unknowns.
Shiisa's paws slammed into the grass just feet from Arezu, blasting the girl with a wave of air. Thank god she's not a jumper or I'd be a goner. Arezu leaned over to peek around Shiisa as a little white pup neared, Suicune bringing up the rear.
"So, Shiisa...Is this more of your family?" Shiisa barked once, happily. Arezu snorted and reached out a hand to pat the Arcanine on the head. "You big goofball." Arezu paused. "Do you...hear that?"
A low noise, barely perceptible. A...growl. Huh, pretty angry for such a little pup. The small white pokemon was hunched over in the grass, ears flattened against his head with a low growl rumbing from his throat. "Hey, don't worry, I'm not-""Arp! Arp lu!" Arezu brought her hand back slowly, surprised. Shiisa looked confused as well, even turning to the little pup to question it. Arezu shot Suicune a questioning look, but its serene face betrayed nothing.
Ai took it upon herself to approach the small Lupup, assessing the threat while appearing welcoming. A cold breeze surprised her a moment before she realized there was a flurry of snow next to the pup that was actually a pokemon. Ai stepped back, alarmed, but Shiisa quickly assuaged everyone's fears.
The introduction hadn't gone as well as Shiisa expected, but she was confident Lupup would get over his weird discomfort. Once Arezu realized Flurry was there, that went well. Both Flurry and Lupup agreed to go with Arezu -Lupup only because he didn't want to be left behind- but Arezu, as Shiisa was very proud to see, didn't push Lupup after seeing his discomfort.
Once everyone was settled, more or less, Arezu had to call it (before Shiisa tried to bring on a whole battalion of new recruits). They'd been resting long enough, anyways. "I'm thinking we should take a detour on our way to Kalos, Ai. What do you say?" The Espeon flicked her ears in agreement and got to enjoy hopping into Tanjoubi along with Arezu, since Hakuren wasn't there.

The trio walked in silence, with Zakhav stifling a yawn as they walked. Sotnik was watching his new trainer the entire way, while Deys apparently surveyed the area. The trek up to Like Verity wasn't too bad, and really, they didn't even encounter any more wild pokemon on the way. Zak was about... 80% sure that even when they did, the pokemon wouldn't be very strong-- at all. That wasn't really the point, though. It was only about... one third of the point, coming up here.

Once the crystalline waters of the lake came into view, Zakhav came to a stop. Both his pokemon followed suit, waiting just behind him, Sotnik's gaze now skeptically staring up at the large see-through box his trainer had over his shoulder. All he could see was fluffy stuff inside it... He lowered his gaze to the water, narrowing, wondering what pokemon they would be encountering here. Turning his head, Zakhav addressed Deys. "Start your traineeng over zere. I vill be setting up near ze vater vis Totodile," he stated. The Empoleon bowed his head, turning to head towards another edge of the water that was near some tall gras.

With a glance at his trainer, 'Nik turned to follow after his teammate. He assumed they would be battling some pokemon, but Deys stopped by the water's edge, and then promptly dove in. Sotnik walked to the water's edge, but did not follow, staring with a wide, blank gaze at the water's surface. He didn't.... swim, though....
Meanwhile, Zakhav was 'setting up', or at least... getting comfortable. He set down the container with the egg, carefully, and slipped his bag off. On the back, formerly sandwiched between his back and the backpack, was a folded up chair. He pulled it off, and unfolded it, extending it to reveal a reclining lounge chair. He set it to the right angle, grabbing his bag and the egg case before sitting down, to make sure both were in reach. Clearly... comfort was an issue for him.

Once settled in, he reached into his bag, grabbing some sunglasses-- the sun still wasn't down, and it was bright enough that at this angle, he wanted the protection-- and popping open the egg container. He unfolded some of the blankets, and gently picked up the egg, placing it on his lap. Grabbing his computer, he leaned back, edging the egg up a bit so he could place his computer just past it, and reach around to type and start it up. While his computer loaded, he pulled off Totodile's pokeball.
Meanwhile, 'Nik was frowning at the water. He blinked, though, when there was a splash, and he suddenly noticed that Deys had been swimming from the shore. So... that was what Zakhav had meant by training...? He could have just... said so...

Eyes still obscured by sunglasses, Zakhav held his hand out to the side, releasing the Totodile, watching it from the corner of his eye. The slightly 'off' pokemon appeared, dancing with a grin, a wild look to its eyes. He looked to Zakhav, gave a menacing-playful snap of his jaws, then looked, dancing and chattering maniacally as he spotting Deys in the water, and their new teammate by the water's edge. Zakhav looked at him, reached over, curled his fingers-- and promptly brought his fist down hard on the water pokemon's head.
"Stop zat," he drawled, withdrawing his hand, "Eez annoying..." Totodile's head jerked down at the hit, and the pokemon glowered, rubbing his head and staying low, glaring at Zakhav. "Svim to zat island," Zakhav instructed, pointing a finger towards the land mass in the middle of the lake, "Zen come back. And repeat..." Totodile glared at him a moment, gave a hungry glance towards Sotnik-- who had not let the water pokemon go unnoticed-- and finally dived into the water, swimming with excess splashing to make his way towards the water.

While Zak was setting up more of his computer gear to get a signal and get to work, Sotnik turned to look at the lake-- only to find Deys staring right at him from the water. The pokemon's gaze was sharp, demanding-- but he wasn't saying anything. Still, the Snivy reflexively took a step back, lifting an arm, almost in defense. What? What did he want? What... Oh. Training. The grass pokemon frowned, relaxing a moment and looking at the other. He didn't swim, though. He turned to look at Zak again-- it was hard to tell with those glasses, but it looked as though the trainer were also staring at him. The unison actions of pokemon and trainer sent a slight shiver down his back. Now that he thought about it, they were both calm, eerily so, laid back... they understood each other easily, it seemed. What.... were they mind linked or something...?
Stepping back, 'Nik did the only thing he could thing of-- he dropped down, and started doing push ups. The splash of water as Deysatnik went back to swimming told him that was, apparently, good enough, and he huffed as his little arms worked to push him up and keep him from falling as he lowered, his head lifted to keep his up turned nose from hitting the ground.

Zakhav checked the time on his computer, then set work to setting up a program he had been working on. It was for a slightly... further in the future plan, but not by much. He was actually getting rather dangerously close to his deadline. But he was fairly positive he could get it done, tomorrow if not tonight, and he would let his pokemon continue their physical training before setting them out to do some battling before dinner and bed. At least the sun was finally starting to get lower...
Totodile, meanwhile, was splashing his way back from the island, watching Empoleon as he glided through the water, occasionally breaching the surface and then diving back down. His eyes never left the other water pokemon as he continued to swim, much like a crocodile, with the upper half of his face above the water. At least he hadn't seemed to take much focus on Sotnik... But he did seem to be oddly trying to time something....

Zakhav didn't seem to be paying much attention to Totodile, despite the fact that he'd said he would keep an eye on him. Didn't seem to be paying much attention. He continued working on his computer, sunglasses still on despite the setting sun, pausing a moment to look at the egg again, brushing his fingers over it and turning it to take another look at the pattern. It sure was interesting... A grin crossed over his face. He couldn't wait for it to hatch. He knew that would take a while, though.

"Totodile!" he snapped, as the pokemon leaped over the water, jaws wide to try and clamp onto Deys. He'd been timing it to arrive at the island just at the same time as the other water pokemon. Des looked up, then leaned back, blasting Totodile with a simple stream of bubbles. It wasn't very damaging at all-- but it was enough, with the shout, to completely knock the pokemon off its guard, and cause him to tumble back into the water. Deys turned, and headed back towards the shore. What a moron...
