ffffff↬Phoebe rather enjoyed her lunch, which she had alone with her pokemon. It was a nice bonding time for the three of them. She spent a little of the lunch period to look over her notes. Rosie would only evolve with high friendship, which meant some time just with her would probably be best. Fireball would evolve into Charizard when he was level thirty-six. Phoebe didn't know if battling was the best option or if leveling up with the rare candies would be better. She'd have to think on it, as she really didn't want Fireball to get hurt in battle.
With lunch over, Phoebe made her way to her next class. She really enjoyed Breeding, and she felt it made her mom proud too. What mother wouldn't swell up with pride to hear that their child was learning all about their career. As she entered the class, she saw Maria, Mr. Bennet, and a student she hadn't seen before. Phoebe gave a small wave to Maria, not wanting to interrupt the conversation her and Mr. Bennet were having. Suddenly, there was a crashing noise and she saw the new girl on the floor. Quickly, she set her things down on the desk next to Maria and moved over to the new girl, "Hey, are you okay?" Phoebe bent down to help her up as Fireball moved to get the girl's things in a pile. Rosie was behind them on the desk, moving out of her trainer's bag to see what woke her up.

Maria and Espurr both waved to not only their teacher but his two Pokémon. The psychic type couldn’t help but stare with his big saucer eyes. Lillipup looked up when they walked in. “Pup.”(Hello.)She greeted with a wag of her tail. “Hello Mr. Bennet. Thank you.” She greeted. Maria should have suspected she’d get more congratulations. “Pup pup.”(Thanks.)Lillipup barked as she seemingly smiled. The brunette looked to Espurr when her teacher asked about him. “Yeah, I caught him the morning before we left for the festival.”She told him. “We met in the woods and Espurr wanted to come with us.”She explained with a smile. “Espurr purr."(I like it here.) Espurr said with a small smile.
That’s when Ashley and Phoebe came in. Espurr’s attention moved to the two girls and the fire type. Maria waved to Phoebe and Fireball as her friend set her books down. Suddenly the red haired girl fell and her stuff scattered. Both Maria and Espurr looked over at the girl. Phoebe had already gone over to help and Fireball was taking care of her books. It didn’t seem like she was needed so she planned on just staying out of the way. "Are you alright?" Maria asked still wanting to make sure her classmate was okay.

Kirsi was actually glad that they had run out of time in Coordinator class because it meant she didn't have to perform in front of everybody again. Also, no matter how many times she told herself to look at the class as experience to get better at working with Chance, she still thought it was a waste of time. Why did they force her to take it when classes like battle or survival were so much more useful? At least breeding class could come in handy, even if she wasn't planning on becoming a breeder. At least she was learning about pokemon instead of boring things normal schools taught.
Kirsi held the door open for Chance as she entered the classroom. He veered off the course to Kirsi's usual seat and padded over to where Ashley had fallen, sniffing at some of her stuff that had spilled onto the floor. Kirsi approached a bit more warily, stopping at her desk because there were already three people crowded close and surrounded by desks and chairs. "Chance, don't touch anything," she said, even though Chance was only sniffing. Chance whuffed, staring across the ocean of school supplies to Ashley. It was too bad he couldn't say hello because off the obstacles. "What happened?" Kirsi asked, wondering how this girl she hadn't seen before could have ended up on the floor. Her eyes fell to the items on the floor. "Oh, do you like to read?" she asked, seeing a book. It was maybe a weird time to be asking that though. Kirsi quickly moved forward, brushing past Chance to try and pick up the book and some other stuff to help.

The faceplant she had made with the ground hurt like heck, but Ashley's chance at not seeming like a total dolt hurt even more. She laid on the ground for a while, debating whether or not she should show her face to all of the people who had seen her tumble like she did. A heat source moved by close to her and went, the girl wondering if it was either a pokemon or the professor of the class. A voice asked if she was okay, which she shook her head while lying on the ground still. Another worried question came at her as she finally decided to force herself to get up off the floor. It was already bad enough being an eyesore for those involved, best to not let them put up with too much of her. Arms wobbling, she moved to sit on top of her legs. Ashley kept her head down, not wanting to even establish eye contact with anyone as she forced her head down and stared at the floor. All of the self confidence she had built up she could feel leaking out of her like a fish tank with a leak in it. Her head did kind of hurt, but other than that minor thing, she was in good health. She wondered if there was a mirror anywhere nearby to see if there was a bruise, but after a few prod around her forehead, she felt a sharp stinging sensation near the spot above her right eye. While she could not see it, there was a small bruise in the location described.
Biting her lip hard to keep herself from breaking down there, she forgot about her bag and rushed to the back of the class. It was there, that she would have kept her head down for the rest of the period and hoped that she would be forgotten. However, it seemed like her life had other plans for her. Another girl seemed to have entered the fray and asked if she liked to read. Speechless, Ashley gave a nod in her direction, blinking back fiery hot tears of embarrassment. If Kirsi were to glance further into the book, it would be a published novel about a fairly notorious traveler from the Kanto region who documented his findings and such about travelling to the other regions and observing the wildlife there. Not totally out of the range of possibilities for somebody her age to be reading it, but fairly shocking to see her know those sort of terms used in the description of places and such. Oh the joys of being a bookworm along with an older sibling who did this kind of stuff for a living. "S-Sorry. I'm so sorry." The girl said, trying to round up all her stuff before noticing the the other pokemon near her.
Her eyes sprang to life as she just wanted to hug them all, even the ones she had not seen before. "Oh! A charmeleon! Thank you." Her tone had changed from a timid one, to that of a person who connected more with the companions of the trainers rather than the trainers themselves. "I wish I had a berry or something to give you. Do you mind if I scan you?" Without waiting for an answer, Ashley brought out her pokedex and pointed it at the creature. the device whirring to life as it studied the Charmeleon. If allowed to scan, it would register within her system as the voice sprang to life, describing the pokemon. "Charmeleon, The Flame Pokemon. Charmeleon mercilessly destroys its foes using its sharp claws. If it encounters a strong foe, it turns aggressive. In this excited state, the flame at the tip of its tail flares with a bluish white color."

Aiden soon arrived to the class just right before it began. Or not? Upon entering, he saw one girls surrounded by others of the same gender with a look of genuine concern. Some were picking up books and other school supplies scattered across the floor. His gaze moved past them to the only adult in the room. He assumed that must be Mr. Bennet, the breeding teacher. So…would it be correct to assume that Aiden was late to class? Welp, can’t be helped then if that was the case. The salamence boy simply shrugged before taking his seat a few rows behind where the girls picked their seats, putting some distance between him and them. He gave a loud fake yawn before setting his bag down on the floor and promptly dropped his head on the table, seemingly falling asleep in an instant. However, he actually was fully awake, watching others behind his bangs and eyelashes and waiting for the teacher to begin today’s lesson. Despite not expressing it through his face, Aiden didn’t like the idea of him being the only boy in the room at the moment. Were there really no other boys aside from him? Or they haven't arrived yet? Havey had smiled at Maria when she thanked him for the congratulations, eyes focusing on the small purple pokemon who seemed already at ease with his new trainer. "Yeah there was a surge of cat pokemon earlier..weird clowder effect, I wonder what caused it" It was then that a commotion was heard, Harvey frowned and turned to see a small redhead walked into the classroom. Harvey stood up and made to help her but at that moment Phoebe seemed to walk in as well and started helping the newest breeding student ( he wasn't sure he had seen her before) with her books. "Sam help 'em out" he said to his slowking. Samantha nodded and softly padded over there, levitating some of the books to both Ashley and fireball. There seemed to be more than enough help to go around but Harvey was concerned about the student not getting up again. Had she hurt herself? "Are you alright Ms..." he asked as well as wondering what her name was he looked down to check his attendance list Langford..Ashley Langford, that was their name. Eventually the girls seemed to gather herself though she was apologizing a lot. "There's no need to apologize" he said kindly offering his hand to the girl "I'm proffessor Bennett. Is this your first time in breeding?" Looking at the door when yet another student walked in ( Aiden Wong, he was starting to get here on time) Harvey opted to start the class. The breeding teacher walked back to his desk where Samantha levitated a stack of papers into his hand. "Alright let's get the quizes out of the way" he said passing back the pieces of paper with the handful of questions on last class that had become his method of taking attendace. After five minutes the quizes were handed back and Harvey was starting the lesson. "Now we've been looking at pokemon natures and abilities for the past weeks. Now we're gonna move on to stats and pokemon moves" he said starting up the projector which would show the slides on the board that would show the notes. "But first a quick announcement." He sat on the desk and looked down at his tablet for a bit before looking back at the students. "You guys have your presentations coming up. You'll each be assigned a partner and you're going to research one particular egg group and come up here and talk to us about it" He figured this would be a good way to get the kids to really engage and get into the subject, if they did their own research and found little things about them that they found interesting. Egg groups were usually the most daunting part of breeding because of how many there were. "Now I know you guys like working with friends and usually I allow it but this is gonna be a big part of your grade so I'm assigning partners now" With that being said he put up a projection of the people that would be partnered up.

So you guys each student generates a number and see what egg group you get, after someone takes an egg group take it out of the list before you generate your number. There's gonna be some leftover. This way each group of two will cover 2 different egg groups. I will post sometime today after noon again. Gotta run to a job interview, later gators.

Kirsi looked down from the nodding Ashley, excited to try and find out what kind of books the other girl liked to read. She didn't open the book, but just from looking at the cover she could tell it was an interesting book and more "non-fiction" than Kirsi usually read. She placed the books and papers she had picked up on the edge of Ashely's desk among the ones Samantha had placed there. "I like to read too!" she stated, eyes sparkling. She loved talking about books, and probably would have insisted on it right then if class hadn't been starting.
Kirsi scooted away to give Mr.Bennet room to greet Ashley, slipping back to her seat to calm Chance before class started. He was excited over events and it never hurt for her to see to him to make sure he didn't do anything once Mr.Bennet started.
Kirsi completed her quiz, glad that it had gone from something she dreaded every class to something normal that didn't make her anxious. It especially helped that she knew a lot of the answers, although she still had trouble remembering the exact names for some things. It was interesting how learning about breeding also meant she learned about pokemon in general.
Then Mr.Bennet announced their project. A project? On egg groups? That sounded kind of fun. She didn't like the idea of presenting, but that was far enough away that she wasn't worried yet. And she was happy about having Maria as a partner. Kirsi raised her hand as he passed the bag with the slips of paper around. She barely waited before asking her question. "What kind of stuff should we talk about?" When the bag came to her Kirsi stuck her hand in, hoping to get the Field group because it was the one Chance (and Lillipup) belonged to. Instead she pulled out a piece of paper with "Fairy" written on it. That was an interesting group too, so Kirsi was happy with it.

Harvey waited for the girl to more or less compose herself and take a seat. He flinched in sympathy when he noticed the bruise on her face. "Ms. Langford please make sure you go see the nurse after class" he said "I'm sure either Ms. Rhodes or Ms. Ambre can show you were it is" Harvey made it a point to know his students so he had come to learn things about them. Kirsi was always the first to ask questions, Maria was always the first one in class ( with Lilipup never far behind) Tristan Daniels never seemed to like any group in the class ( although Kirsi seemed to take some special kind of pleasure in..imposing her salutations on him. Should he have a talk with them about that? ) Phoebe and Ichigo were probably the most openly friendly students he had ( they were all good kids really. He had been particularly lucky in that regard) So he knew when he suggested either Kirsi or Phoebe escort Ashley to the nurse that neither would be put on the spot. Kirsi was already asking about the book that Ashley had droped and could probably be a nice counter to the red-head's shier demeanor. Phoebe would also probably be happy to help out a fellow student. The thought made him smile, his own school days had been a bit on the lonely side..especially the farther ahead he got. Maybe Ashley and other shy students like her could be spared that. When Kirsi asked what kind of information they'd be presenting Harvey hopped back on his desk, sitting with his elbows leaning on his knees as he answered "You'll get an outline after class. Basically you'll give me basic information about the egg group, what some of the characteristics of the egg group are, for example, most pokemon in the ditto egg group are pink and blobby" this was said as a slight joke since the only pokemon in the ditto egg group was..well ditto "a couple of examples of what pokemon there are in that group. You guys can use cardboard, computers, poster boards, whatever you want. Think about it as a time to teach the class." he knew some of the students liked getting creative. Phoebe just about doodled every class "I'll hand out an outline of the information you'll need. You guys are handing in a written outline of what you'll be presenting" Some students seemed to groan about that, book work after all wasn't for everyone but it was necessary..there was just not avoiding it in breeding. "You guys also have to give me the sources, so if you got them online, website name, from a book, book name and author" With that out of the way Harvey jumped down from the desk and put up a projection of a chart" Now we've covered natures and breeding between species. Today we're gonna look at moves. You can see the charmander inherited it's mother's looks and it's father's nature But the moves come from both." he clicked the remote clicker in his hand and the slide changed to the notes for the day "now this is what we call egg moves. They are moves that can only be passed down from breeding two pokemon" the deifnition along with some other bullet points were on the slide, for now Harvey was reading from it "Egg moves can be passed down from both the mother and the father of a pokemon..now you all remember when I had you scan your pokemon's moves with the pokedex, you guys may have found some of the moves your pokemon were egg moves. I know for a fact, anyone who got their pokemon from the daycare center here at the school will have an egg move. It's just something that the school does." He smiled when he thought of the field trip to the daycare that he had planned for a future class. He was certain Maria and Phoebe would especially get a kick out of that. They were the two who seemed the most interested in breeding. "Your homework for this class is actually to look at your pokemon's move which you wrote down on that class and tell me if they have any egg moves, if they don't I want you to look up at least two egg moves it can learn. Broski for his part gave a small grunt and looked down at the baby pokemon with a tolerable look while the pichu gave out a 'chu!' clearly pleased with himself. IIII'm gonna have to take him out to the forest after this, the breeding teacher thought with a slight smile. The monferno was doing him the favor of aiding in the presentation and Harvey had known him long enough to know that look meant he expected recompense. He was such a brat, but Harvey loved him. "The reason he can do that is because his parents held this" at his words he produced a light ball, handing it to Maria and again signaling for her to pass it down so everyone in the class could see it "now the thing that is being carefully handed down is called a light ball. If either parent from a pichu holds it, the pichu is born knowing Volt Tackle. It's a cool little trick that a lot of breeders use, especially when a trainer makes a special request for his pokemon to know the move. There are a lot more exceptions, and we're gonna go over them as time goes on." He took back the light ball once it had made it's rounds. Before going back to the last bullet point "Now for the mutually exclusive egg moves...It sounds conplicated but it's actually pretty simple..and in my opinion..kinda cool. Tentacool here is another level 3 pokemon but it know both mirror coat and rapid spin. Show em bud" The tentacrel did as told, spining in place before a shiny gleam began to envelop it. The rapid spin got faster and by the time it had stopped the gleam from the mirror coat had fully enveloped the pokemon before bursting out in pretty barrier around it and leaving it shining. Harvey smiled awaiting the reactions of the students, he knew those who took coordination or were interested in it would probably get a kick out of it. While those who prefered battled would see the use in a pokemon already known a defensive move like mirror coat and an offensive one like rapid spin. The baby tentacool for his part, certainly looked pleased with himself. "Now the reason tentacool can do that despite being a baby is that it's parents knew knew rapid spin and mirror coat respectively." he sat back down on his desk, picking up the tentacool and holding it as he addressed the class. "Now the thing is..pokemon in tentacool and tentacruel's egg group, which is water 3 can learn both moves and pass them down at the same time. So when you see or hear mutually exclusive, all I want you to think is that both moves are exclusive to the egg group. The word mutual in this case is used to meant that it applies to both parents. Researchers used to think that pokemon could only inherit moves from the dad but nowadays it's common knowledge that that's not the case which is how these moves came to be" He looked at the class hoping that he hadn't confused them. It was his first year as a teacher after all and so far he had been doing well but he couldn't help but fear he might go over their heads as they got further into the subjects. Most of his experience before ordell hadn't really involved children. "I really don't wanna confuse you guys with this last part so does this make sense? Anyone have any questions?" They'd only be looking at breeding chains after this, if the time allowed and going further into egg groups, and Harvey never had problems slowing down the class to make sure everyone had their questions answered.

Quickly moving to her seat as class began, Ashley winced as her index finger idly moved to touch her bruise again. It had covered more area, but was still a size in which there was no alarm to be given. Of course, it was still something that was a pretty big blemish for the girl to go through. To answer his questions, she gave a nod of her head while collecting all of the stuff that had been picked up thus far and placing it on top of her desk. "Mm." Before he began the lesson, he gave her instructions to get her bruise checked out by one of the nurses after class, suggesting one of the two girls who she had met while she was busy making a fool of herself in front of everyone. "I-I will." She said before being given the quiz. Of course, having little experience with breeding, she did her best and could simply guess the answers to the best of her ability. After that ten minutes of torture, the teacher collected them all and announced their new plans for a project. It seemed like all of them would be paired together and then give a presentation on whatever egg group that they would be given. Once more, the timid child could only feel the anxiety within her swell. Presentations were not one of her strong points, with a group setting being an even worse one. He assigned her and everyone else a partner on the projection screen in front of the room, but she always worried about being the weakest member in a group. When the paper came here way, she plucked it from the student beside her and picked her piece of paper while passing it on to the next person.
After that little sidetrack, he moved onto talking about egg moves and how pokemon got them. He put up another slide, this time a chart of two pokemon, a Charizard and a Dragonite, and their offspring. He explained all about how the appearance and moves that the Charmander would know due to its heritage, Ashley making writing down notes in her book while she listened to the homework. It seemed easy enough, she just had to see what egg moves that Azure had. For a better example, he brought out two pokemon, including one she had never seen before. A baby pokemon, as people called them. It looked just so adorable, that Ashley could run forward and ask Mr Harvey if she could keep him. She brought out her pokemox as it sprang to life once more, scanning the make up of the Pichu before announcing "Pichu, the Tiny Mouse Pokemon. When Pichu plays with others, it may short out electricity with another Pichu, creating a shower of sparks. In that event, this Pokémon will begin crying, startled by the flash of sparks.". As she put the tool down, the small pokemon used Volt Tackle, or what seemed like an extremely low level version of the powerful move. The Tentacool then displayed his egg moves for the class as well, using Rapid Spin and Mirror Coat with relative ease as the professor had told her. He asked for any questions, Ashley looking around the room to see if people did. It certainly was an interesting topic, and she wondered what the breeding program in Unova was like. She timidly raised her hand for a question. "S-So why does the Charmander only know Flare bitz from its mother? Couldn't it use Dragon Claw or Fly? Sorry for interrupting..."

At the mention of quizzes, Aiden let out a muffled groan behind his crossed arms that acted as a pillow for his head to rest comfortably on the desk. Mr. Bennett sure loved giving out quizzes to his students every class, isn’t he? Either that or he had a sadistic side to him. The amber-eyed boy had gotten used to the teacher’s way of starting classes after the third time and was well-prepared for it this time. Once he was done answering all the questions on his paper, he handed it back to the teacher and then propped his elbow on the desk, resting his chin on the palm. He was ready for today’s lesson, feeling happy that he had done okay with the quiz until Mr. Bennett made a quick announcement about a project. A presentation, he said. Not only that, but they had to work in pair and each one was assigned a partner by the teacher himself. Oh, what a good news! Not only did the project determined whether or not would he pass the class, but he would’ve to work with someone whom he had never talked or acquainted before but must put some trust in them to make the partnership work for the sake of their grade. Oh sure, it would go as smoothly as it sounded. Yeah…right. Pffft, who was he kidding to?

Maria didn’t say anything more on the subject of her newest addition since Ashley and Phoebe walked in. Before long Mr. Bennet got class started and the brunette was quick to work on the quiz that was handed out. Espurr watched her closely as she did the quiz. When it was turned in she turned her attention to the front of the class. Books out, she got ready and listened about the coming plans. Now they would be moving onto stats and moves. Then there was the presentation… that sounded fun. As partners were being handed out, Maria smiled seeing she was paired with Kirsi. They’d worked together before or at least knew each other well enough that it wouldn’t be horrible. Not that Maria thought it was going to be horrible.
Taking the papers that were handed to her, Maria picked one out and handed it to the next person. It wasn’t long before Kirsi asked what kind of things they’d need to talk about in their presentation. Listening to Professor Bennet about all that it seemed involved but that was to be expected. She was sure she could pull off the bookwork with Kirsi’s help. The rest would be fun she could tell.
As class got started Maria took notes on how moves worked with breeding. It all seemed interesting that moves could be inherited by both sides. The brunette smiled at the assignment they had for class. Sure was pretty sure Lillipup didn’t have any egg moves and Espurr probably didn’t either. She could always check them both and then she could maybe take a walk and see what she could find. As Mr. Bennet released a Pichu and a Tentacool

Maria was amazed at seeing the Pichu’s little volt tackle. It was so cute. Even Espurr was amazed by the move. Taking the lightening ball as Mr. Bennet handed it to her Maria looked it over before passing it on. That was a cool trick, which she quickly wrote down in her notes. Turning her attention to the Tentacool, she watched its brilliant display. Maria, Espurr, and Lillipup were glued to the performance. Was that was contests were like? It was certainly cool.

Kirsi thought it was silly for Ashley to go to the nurse's office just for falling down. She couldn't have really gotten hurt from that, right? But Mr.Bennet was smart and so he probably knew that it was a good idea so Kirsi ended up believing it too. Not to mention, if she was the one to take Ashley to the nurse she wouldn't mind a chance to ask about her books.
Kirsi let out a breath as Mr.Bennet explained the project. Using pictures and stuff would be a lot more fun than just writing about it, and that made it a lot easier to present, too. She could already picture them spread out in the library or a common room working on a big poster board, with Chance and Lillipup watching. Yeah, it would be fun!
When Mr.Bennet released the university pokemon, Kirsi leaned in with interest. She pressed one foot softly against Chance's side, reminding him to stay put despite the pokemon right in front of him. This was one of the reasons Kirsi really liked being in the front row, especially in Breeding class. She got out her pokedex like the others, scanning the two in front of her. The only thing interesting enough to divert her gaze was the Light Ball being passed around, which she held with wide eyes when it was her turn. Kirsi passed it on and watched the demonstration with excitement. Chance strained to stand when Pichu began running but Kirsi gently kept him on his stomach. It wouldn't do for him to distract the pokemon by standing up or barking.
Kirsi had waited a long time to ask a question that she had immediately thought of as soon as Mr.Bennet introduced the topic. She had barely managed to hold off raising her hand, trying to wait and see if he was going to explain it without prompt before interrupting the lecture to ask. She was wondering why only some moves got passed on, and only sometimes. It didn't make sense and didn't seem fair to her. She was about to raise her hand when a voice spoke up behind her. She turned to see Ashley asking the same question Kirsi had. Kirsi nodded to herself, thinking it was a good question, and twisted back around to see what Mr.Bennet said.
At first she understood Mr.Bennet's further explanation about moves, but as he went on she got more and more confused. Mutually...exclusive? Water three was...could...moves... Her head hurt. So...if both the parents were from the egg group they could pass down the moves? That was what it sounded like. Kirsi hesitated to ask a question. She didn't want to look like she wasn't smart, and decided maybe she would understand after looking at more examples.

Harvey's eyes turned to Ashley asked her question, giving the Flygon student an encouraging smile, though he couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at her apology. What was she sorry for? He had said they could ask question. "It is..really okay" he said with a slight easy going laugh at the end that the teacher -unknowingly- shared with Marcus. The tone itself was almost an exact mimicry of how the young Kingdra student usually spoke the phrase ( though it had less of a drawl to it due to how much time Harvey had spent outside of Eterna) He rubbed the back of his neck as he thought about the answer..another trait he shared with Marcus ( and which they both got from their dad and uncle) and thought of how best to put it ( Kirsi was already looking a bit flustered as were some of the students. The Salamance girl in particular seemed to be holding in a question and it made Harvey smile. She had a quick mind and always thought of questions. It was nice to see her try and hold them until the lecture was done) "You can ask questions Ashley, I won't mind none. I went to school for this for like seven years, trust me, it's kinda nice not to bore people with it for once..it's kinda why I teach." the last part was said jokingly and referred not to any of his students but rather to the people he had met at the aforementioned school. Harvey had learned in those seven years in school that when you were as passionate as he was about breeding ( not to mention a complete and total dork about it), people tended to want you to shut up about it real quick-like. Not even because they were mean but because you were that much a dork about it. Like, even his friends had a time limit on how much 'geek talk' he was allowed before they moved on to something everyone felt in the loop about. Life of the bookworm..what could you do really. "That's actually a really good question" he said smiling at Ashley praising her question "and it brings us to the next..and poooosibly last slide for the day" he said this last part with a glance at his wrist watch ( an electric one due to the fact that he considered normal dial watches obsolete and an actual pain to read). Time had gotten away from him..it seemed he'd have to finish class and cover chain breeding next time. He was kinda planning on it anyways..he didn't want to overwhelm the kids with a lecture that covered multiple topics. He always tried to give them enough time with a topic so that they got it down before moving on to the more complicated things..so far it seemed to work."It's gettin kinda late guys we might have to wrap things up" Throwing up the clicker and catching it out habit Harvey jumped off the desk he was sitting on before walking around a bit ( he had been sitting for a long time..he needed to stretch) He weaved in between the rows of desks as he talked clicking on the remote as he went. "Okay so the reason the Charmander wouldn't get the other moves is because..they aren't egg moves. Not for Charmander anyways" Another click and another table popped up this one with all the egg moves a Charmander would have.
"Every pokemon has different egg moves that it can inherit..and that are exclusive to them. So Charmander can be bred to know any of these moves but only these moves. Fly actually can't be inherited by any pokemon, It can only be learned by tutoring or training...although there's also HMs for it" another click and they were back on the Charizard and it's parents chart "another thing to remember is bred pokemon will only inherit 2 moves from it's parents..the other two moves will be baby moves, like growl or scratch..the moves it will inherit are also kind of a gamble. If the Charizard for example knew Air Cutter and Flare Blitz..the baby would have a chance of inheriting either one it's a fifty fifty things..kinda like flipping a coin..the more moves the slimmer the chances. So when hoping for a specific move, a lot of breeders will usually try and keep a simple model like this." Harvey knew this was a required class and a lot of the students wouldn't be thinking about professions for a while ( they were ten after all) but he could never help but add tidbits about breeding practices in his lectures. He figured it'd at least make the lessons look more applicable and easier to stick. "Air Cutter and Flare Blitz would also be an example of mutually exclusive moves" he said making his way back to the desk. and sitting on it, looking over at the projection before continuing. "Both moves are exclusive to Charmander. So, think back to same species breeding..which is where this comes in. If you have two Charizards and they get a clutch of eggs. The Charmanders will inherit BOTH egg moves. Here's more examples " he clicked again and this time a growlithe appeared..with two Arcanines' "this growlithe will hatch already knowing Crunch and Flare Blitz..that's two high level moves right off the bat. Again they are mutually exclusive to growlithe...again think of the word exclusive..they're egg moves that both belong to Growlithe and Arcanine" Another click, this time a ralts, again with two same species parents and two mutually exclusive moves in it's moveset "Same for the Ralts, it knows Ally Switch and Misty Terrain, again both moves are egg moves for Ralts. Which makes them.." some students mumbled the words..Harvey waited, wanting to know they had them ."mutually exclusive right. Last one" Another click and a Sniny model appeared with a Roserade and a Mareep as parents. "The snivy's mutual exclusive moves are the egg moves that belong to Snivy so magical leaf and Iron Tail" He waited for a bit as students wrote things down, recorded, or simply absorbed the information he had given so far before standing up and pocketing the clicker ( since he really wouldn't need it for a while) "The reason this is kinda cool is if you can't tell, each pokemon will inherit only one egg move from each parent. So if you wanted both moves..this would be the only way to get them..they're also a bit harder to get and a mite more expensive. So most pokemon you'll see will probably only have one egg move. Usually one assignment per class seemed to work ( and usually they were worksheets with a few problems never like...take home test or written assignments...good lord he hated written assignments never got why some of his teachers thought it was a good idea to assign multiple of those but he knew he never would.) "Right now the only thing you guys have to worry about is doing the egg move assignment..which again you just have to look at either of your pokemon-for those that have more than one and telling me at least two moves they could inherit, either by scanning it or looking it up..two more pokemon for extra credit for those who want it. Again, please don't go out after hours to do this, talk to me if you have a problem completing. I really don't wanna leave Ordell..the pool's like..really nice" He'd feel he was repeating himself but really it had just been the second time he had mentioned it. Harvey always felt the need to remind students not to break the rules for an assignment. He had a feeling if they were caught and said it was for something he asked them to do he'd get sacked. He had started teaching as a way to keep a stable income and gain new experiences but the more time he spent in Ordell...the more he found he enjoyed it. And the pool really was cool, not to mention access to the Lamia District. "You guys may also want to get in touch with your partners. You don't really have to start planning the presentation yet since it's really far off but it'd be good to know who you're working with" Glancing at his watch again, he pushed off the desk knowing he'd have to dismiss the class. He had actually gone a bit overtime but hopefully the students wouldn't mind? Most of them seemed interested in the lesson at least. "That's..all we really have time for today. Kirsi made it to third place, Maria made it to second and Phoebe's Fireball is I believe the first pokemon to evolve, so..give em a hand" The students complied and when the applause died down Harvey gave one last clap, this one of the 'let's wrap this up' category. "Alright. You guys are free to go. I'll be grading quizes for a bit so if you wanna ask me questions feel free to stick around. The University Pokemon are also hanging out for a bit so feel free to get to know them just try not to crowd 'em and remember, they're babies. Sam has your homework sheet and the presentation sheet" Sure enough, the slowking, who was standing by Harvey's desk, levitating two stack of papers and sending a sheet from each to students as they lined up to take them. She was also keeping an eye on the pichu and tentacool, which explained why both hatchlings were looking at the students curiously and darting from one place to the next but still in what could be considered -by baby pokemon standards- their very best behaviour. Harvey went back behind his desk and finally took a sit in the chair (he always sat on the desk when he lectured..maybe it was childish or juvenile of him but he just liked it better). Broski for his part jumped on Harvey's desk, bunting his head in affection against the trainer's hand ( and earning a pet in return) before sitting down on the edge of Harvey's desk waving to the students as they waved and "Careful with the tail Bros" he muttered moving the papers out of range of the aforementioned apendage. Quizes were flamable after all "we really don't want a repeat of midterns in Saffron" The monferno pulled a face at him, clearly afronted at being reminded and blamed for the past incident which was so not his fault ( He had just evolved okay! And Harvey shouldn't keep so much paper in his desk, it was way cluttered) Harvey scoffed at the monkey's brattiness but smiled as he kept grading.

Blink…blink…. For a second, he doubted what he was seeing.
“Field group…well, guess it’s not so bad.” It could’ve been a fairy group he ended up getting and, despite owning a fairy-type pokemon, he wasn’t keen on researching a topic he had absolutely no interest in. “But still it’s not going to be easy…” His attention soon went back to the front when a red-haired girl asked a question. Leaning back on his chair, Aiden listened attentively to Mr. Bennet explaining the details of their project but still maintained his laid-back demeanor. His mind, however, was beginning to form a plan composed of a series of actions he should take after the class ended. No doubt that his first priority was to meet up with this Skylar person and exchange numbers together in order to plan their future meeting easier. He wouldn’t want to visit her at her dorm only to find out she was out spending time with her friends. A waste of his time. “Present any way we want huh?” He started to ponder over the available choices. For him, Powerpoint is the best way to make a presentation in front of people. Easier to use and organize the data in a way that made things interesting and captured people’s attention. Not that he was bragging, but for a boy of his age he was pretty good at working on computer—probably due to always having a reason in browsing website for movies to download and watch later. Creating a poster board was too much of a work and a waste of material and space while saving the project as a file simply only ate up some room in computer memory. He really loved the idea; hopefully his partner would think so too.
Moving on, Mr. Bennett finally began today’s lesson about receiving moves through breeding. Apparently a pokemon could learn new move that wasn’t available for their species with a condition that either of the parents must come from another species. Egg moves, it was called. Aiden raised an eyebrow at the mention of pokemon provided by the school will definitely have either one of more of those moves. Wow, what a ‘fair’ advantage. Aiden personally held no hopes that his Cleffa would happen to inherit said moves. He just didn’t. No reason at all. Now, here comes another muffled groan of unhappiness from the boy when homework was given out quite early in class. First, a presentation project, now a quick research on their own partner. What a slave driver. Mr. Bennett wasn’t done on the lesson yet, though. He then pointed out that moves can be affected by items and provided examples for students to understand quickly by calling out two pokemon—Pichu and Tentacruel. Just like anyone in class, Aiden scanned the pokemon with his pokedex and read up on information provided by the apps. He didn’t really care much for the mouse; it looked too cute for his taste. Tentacurel, on the other hand, was like a hero in this class. The salamence boy couldn’t contain the excited grin appearing on his lips as he watched the water pokemon performed mirror coat and rapid spin. That. Was. So. Coal! Exactly what he would like to have in his future team!

Aiden proceeded to jot down everything Mr. Bennett said about the tentacool word for word into his notebook, despite not completely understanding what the adult was trying to tell them. He could look it up on the internet later; he planned to visit the library anyway after this. Aiden didn’t really pay much of his attention on the teacher’s small talk about his life back at university and instead read over his notes to check if he got it all correct. Mr. Bennett then answered a question the girl—Ashley, he said—asked with the last slide of the day. Apparently not all moves were categorized as egg moves for each species. Only a few nature-selected moves could be learned by certain species and not by some. Then there were moves that learned through special training, like tutoring and HMs. Aiden tried to copy down more notes on the examples provided more by the teacher, but admittedly he got a little confused and didn’t completely understand. He will after re-reading the notes. Mr. Bennett was just going too fast for him to connect dots and see picture in mind. Aiden rolled his eyes at the word ‘quiz’. Yeah, it didn’t really bother him as much as the first time it happened. Oh, wow a third homework! The boy didn’t see it coming at all! Yeah…pfft. Atleast he got a chuckle out of what Mr. Bennett had to say after that. The adult truly understood his students’ feeling. And Aiden kind of liked him. A bit. Still a slave driver, though.
As the teacher continued to talk, Aiden began to rip out a piece of paper, wrote a short message, and fold it into a bird—he was pretty good at origami too. It was a hobby he would prefer not to tell anyone. Looking back and forth to make sure no one was looking at his way he let out his partner and gave her a set of command in whisper-like tone. “Hey, listen carefully. Give this to a girl named Skylar. She’s…” What the girl looked like again, he wondered. “..She’s somewhere in this class. Just ask the pokemon around here and you’ll see her. Once you do, give this paper to her, got it?” Aiden handed over the paper bird over to the fairy type and gently placed her down on the floor. “Now, go.” Cleffa saluted with a smile on her face before going off on a short journey in search for this mysterious human. How fun! The adventure begins!
By the time the class dismissed, Cleffa had returned from her journey and went sleeping inside her trainer’s backpack. She must have had a lot of fun, based on the smile on her face, but Aiden didn’t ponder over it. He simply stood up and left the class without saying words of congratulation to the participants while several of his classmates stood up and went to congratulate them. He already gave applause. No need for more unnecessary praising. Seriously it was getting really annoying how teachers started to play favorites and fed the popular kids’ ego with praises.

Kirsi perked up when Mr.Bennet mentioned Arcanine, paying closer attention. Finally it started to make a little sense, maybe. So...some moves could only be passed down...by one pokemon, like Arcanine, and since you could only get one move per parent...you had to have two Arcanine...if you wanted two moves only passed down by Arcanine? Kirsi scribbled her cobbled-together thoughts underneath the underlined words mutually exclusive in her notes alone with a couple of the examples Mr.Bennet gave. She mumbled along with the class, distracted by keeping up with her notes. At least they wouldn't have to worry about work around Halloween, which made Kirsi grin.
As the end of class shuffle of paper and scraping of chairs started, Kirsi turned to Maria. "Let me know if you wanna work on our project. I'm gonna show Ashley to the nurse."
Kirsi walked up to Ashley's desk. Chance padded after her, snuffling the floor near the other girl's feet. "Hi. Do you want me to show you to the nurse?" she asked. She wanted to ask about the book Ashley was reading and find out if the other girl liked reading things like fiction that was Kirsi's favorite, but she wanted to wait until the time felt right. "I'm Kirsi. And that's Chance," she said, pointing.
