As if in a trance, Lucian sunk his head into his hands, visibly shaking.
The doctor said I only have a few months left. Will you stay by my side until then?
An image of a pure white hospital bed. Sunlight entering the room, illuminating the lone figure of the girl sitting on the bed.

A reflection. Broken mirror. Blood red eyes flashing in anger, staring right back into him.
Why does she have to die, while the trash of mankind get to live?
A scream. People falling to the ground.

Lucian sat there, one hand clutching his chest, as if he was in pain.

"Sal..."
The name escaped his lips. Softly, filled with regret, longing, and despair.

Alyssia watched Lucian with curious eyes, unsure how to respond to the situation at hand. She opened her mouth to speak, choosing each word carefully. She wanted to try to learn as much as she could from the episode he was having, and she wasn't sure how to prolong the situation. "It's okay." She said softly, trying not to interrupt his thoughts. She put her hand on his, flinching as she did so. The last thing she wanted was to touch the deceptive man in front of her, but sometimes there were sacrifices that had to be made.

Lucian calmed down slightly when the Queen placed her hand on his.
Without looking up, he placed her hand on his heart, still in a trance.
"Did you come back for me, Sal?" he said softly, his voice gentle and completely uncharacteristic of him.
"I missed you..."
He slowly brought his gaze upwards, meeting the eyes of the Queen, still in a daze.
His eyes were tender and loving, deep melted orbs of gold that seemed to see only the person in front of him.

She is a woman who's had her heart broken,

Alyssia's eyes widened as her hand was suddenly pulled over the mans heart. She could feel the gentle beat under her palm, and she was suddenly very unsure about the situation she had gotten herself into. She exhaled deeply as his eyes met hers, completely different from the Lucian she knew. She searched for the normal deceitful expression to no avail, noting that Lucian's movements were genuine. "I-I..." She stuttered, second guessing whether she could lie to the man in front of her. He seemed to be lost in memories of someone important to him.

As she thought this, a sudden memory flashed through her head. In her minds eye she saw the final smile, aimed directly at her. She gripped Lucian's hand tighter as she remembered the way the guillotine had fallen, removing the only person that she had ever trusted completely from her life. She clenched her teeth, taking a deep breath as she tried to push away the memory.

She could not play with his memories of another person, as memories of her own person would be hell for her. "I'm not her." She finally finished, waiting for his expression to change back to normal.

Lucian gazed at her for a long moment.
Then, his eyes slowly cleared.
He let go of her hand in a flash, his eyes turning crimson red in rage.
"Excuse me." he hissed, shifting into his Reaper form as he swung his scythe over his shoulders, floating away out of her chambers through the walls, unable to believe that he has just acted so weak in front of his opponent.

Alyssia looked down at the hand he had been holding, quite confused at the situation that had just happened. She felt she had just witnessed another side of Lucian, as well as a weakness of his. Someone named Sal seemed to bring a very unique reaction out of him, which could be quite advantageous as a last ditch effort. With a sigh she leaned back in her chair, still pondering the situation. She continued to wait for Zoe, definitely ready to eat.

Lucian returned to his room.
As soon as he entered, he swung his scythe to the side, slicing a vase into halves.
"Damn it!!!"
He kicked a nearby chair, sending it tumbling into the wall.
Lucian let out an furious cry, the darkness surrounding him spreading across the room, enveloping him in darkness.
He continued releasing his pent up frustration for a while longer, and then sunk to the ground, curling up into a ball.
"Stop it...no more..."
He sat there in absolute darkness and silence, letting himself drown in his emotions.

Alyssia became startled as she heard some loud noises coming from the other room. She knew that Lucian was not in the best position to speak at the moment, but she felt concerned now that she knew more about his past. With a bit of hesitation she stood from her spot, slowly walking over to Lucian's chamber. She had not entered his chamber since he moved into it, and she wasn't sure what to expect as she knocked on the door 3 times.

Lucian wrapped his arms tighter around himself.

He shook his head, trying to clear his thoughts.
Don't be weak, Lucian. Don't be fooled by that foul thing named "Love."
He opened his eyes, taking in the darkness around him.
Complete silence.
Alone.
Can't see anything.
Cold...
He couldn't help but let out a gentle sob.

Alyssia gave a frustrated groan when she heard no response. "I am coming in." She stated, reminding herself that it was her right to do so as Queen. She pulled a master key out of her pocket, one which could be used to open any door in the castle. She slowly unlocked and pushed open the door, bringing light into the room. Her eyes landed on a figure in the corner, which her eyes soon recognized as Lucian. "Lucian?" She called quietly, walking over to the figure that didn't seem to acknowledge the world around him.

Lucian did not even hear her approach him, completely absorbed in his own world.
When he opened his eyes, and saw that the room was semi-lit with light again, he turned around slowly, giving Alyssia a frightened and timid look.

Alyssia knelt down to Lucian's level, holding her hands out for him to grab onto. She was torn between wanting to help him and wanting more information, but due to the previous revelation her instinct to calm him down won out. She had not realized triggering an episode would be so intense for him, and she wasn't sure how to best approach him to help. "Are you okay?" She asked cautiously, looking him over to make sure he had not hurt himself.

Lucian looked at her hand, hesitating.
Then, he reached for it gently, holding it in his.
Feeling the warmth of her hand against his icy cold ones.
"...Thank you."
His tranquil smile was faint, yet sincere, filled with warmth that reached his eyes.
