jellykans Pwnder jellykans Pwnder jellykans I got dinner made for me, chickpeas with spinach in a masala sauce. Hard to explain, but YUM is it good! I was never a big fan of marsala sauce. It almost seems like a funky brown gravy Megan isn't either, said they are usually made with tomatoes, but this one isn't. I love the curry and spices. She's giving me the recipe and also the one for the eggplant dish she made. Eggplant can be delicious or godawful, and I want this recipe. I haven't had good experiences with eggplant yet. Most of which consist of tempura style. I will remain open minded about it in the future though. Squishy texture....weird....I'm the same about Tomatoes..... I've had eggplant crispy or squishy like dead sponge...it's the best of times and the worst of times....like Dickens said. Crispy! I don't like raw tomatoes but give me a fried green tomato and I'm eating it up. Just like fired pickles! heart

Maybe fried Kim Chi, but I can't imagine fried (cucumber) pickles.

Maybe fried Kim Chi, but I can't imagine fried (cucumber) pickles. Fried fermented cabbage?? That is totally different than fried pickled-anything. OMG if you EVAR have the chance to try them grab them. Now, sometimes they are cheaply made and not so good. The best I've ever had were at my old workplace The Black-eyed Pea. Country cooking whatnot. They got these huge sliced Klausen pickles fried in that bad-a** batter they use for everything. I'm drooling right now.... Really though, lets face it, any fried vegetable is good though. Tomatoes, green beans, corn, zucchini, eggplant, pumpkin, onion, potato. The list goes on and on.

I had salmon with green beans and fresh made crisps with a side of a asian pasta salad with cashews and water chestnuts finished off with a plum tart..it was delicious.
My folks took me out for dinner, sadly when I got home my eating disorder kicked in and I purged 90% of it. I feel horrible about that right now..

Pwnder jellykans I'm having hummus, a very spicy red pepper one. Please explain Hummus whee It's a Middle Eastern dish, very popular in California. The base is chickpeas (garbanzo beans), cooked and mashed, with a little tahini (sesame butter), garlic and lemon juice. I usually eat it with pita bread, but lately just spoon it out of the container. This one had sweet red pepper in it, which I've had, but it also had hot pepper flakes, which was new to me. (A new brand.)
