Red eyes scanned the crowd, taking note of the famine horsewoman that nodded to him, and giving her a nod in return of acknowledgement. With Mengyao joining the entourage he merely glanced over and slightly up at him, nodding to him as well. So long as the noble kept Lifen happy Soren would be civil and that was all he really wanted to do with the other man.
"Priestess," he acknowledged, looking down at her before his eyes flicked back toward the High Priestess. "No orders yet," he said by way of explanation.
Then there was a man at her back and while it put him on edge, Soren not missing the stiffness of her shoulders before she relaxed a bit, it was more from having no idea who the stranger was than anything else. If he wanted a rise out of Soren a pair of ample breasts would have helped his cause. If the Priestess gave any indication that his attention was unwelcome they would have words, possibly more than that, but he had no right to interfere in her personal life with no invitation.

"Noble children of the Lost Clans," Medea nodded to all who appeared, raising both her hands, even as her one eyelid twitched in annoyance and impatience. She hid it well though, "I have come to beseech your aid for a most important task. You see it now, through the smoking flames, a colour most foul and unnatural representing an ill omen in the Human World. We must seek the source of this, locate and understand it, and then in its moment of weakness, destroy it. Our Fear must remain absolute."
She paused for a moment, and decided finally on Option B, grabbing a nearby urn and pulling out a few contents. Simple bracelets really, made of ornate silver. "These will provide a natural disguise for you, use them well, for we travel in unknown territories, and though we are unafraid to conquer, we do not do so brashly or irrationally. We must be prepared for all odds, we must remember who we are and fight accordingly for the paths to come." Medea passed the urn over to the next horsemen, expecting the favour to be continued down. She turned back to the pyre, now hissing and fizzling, strange sparkles escaping from the flames. "Now, embrace yourselves. It is our time of destiny." And with that, the flames turned into the sides of a portal, beckoning all to enter.
Bastion let go of his cousin, choosing instead to hang his head dejectedly on her shoulder like a sad pup. This.. tall brother of theirs was already boring him. Bastion kept making faces at his back.
He turned to whisper something disapproving about Nergui's choice in men into her ear, when the sight of something caught his breath and stole it. It was the first time he'd seen her since the last time he'd come to check up on her, months ago. Time had frozen her into perfection, stealing his attention from the very moment he noticed.
"Mjoll's here." Bastion whispered into his cousin's ear instead, in a melty sort of sappy sound. His obsession with the girl wasn't a secret to his poor cousin - but it was a great secret from the femme herself.
The distraction of their mission had welcome timing. He lunged for a bracelet, putting it on easily and handing his cousin one. Then he moved away, choosing to hide behind Soren, of all people (hey, he was a big guy, it was a good spot) while sneaking into the portal backwards, his eyes still on Mjoll.
Always on Mjoll.

Senga rumbled at Medea's interruption, and when it was his turn, he snatched a bracelet and pushed it on his thin wrist. Glancing back at Shikoba with a look that said this isn't over yet, he flapped his wings and retreated from the other, folding them neatly back against his sides before turning to the portal. He had no idea what was on the other side, and he wasn't sure that with Medea in the lead it would be anywhere good but... well, he was in need of a new project and hey, nothing could get worse than another boring race around the lair.
Shrugging, he took a step forward, and then another, and disappeared into the portal.

Mjoll took a bracelet when the urn was handed to her, she was feeling rather watched though. Her brow lofted as she glanced to the source of the watching. Bastionk was watching her, was that his name? Oh well didn't matter.
Mjoll's wings twitched as she put on the bracelet and walked through the portal. Whatever, it didn't matter.
And it had almost finished too. Iyari thought, removing her hand from Jay to take one of the passed bracelets, shoving it on curiously. She shrugged. "Oh no you don't." She said as Jay began to move from her, grabbing onto her arm she pulled her towards the portal. Until they were on the other side she was going to keep her word of holding onto her.

Unexpectedly, after being hit with a barrel in the face and clawed at his leg and then goaded by the one who claimed not to have tossed a barrel at his head while being tackled and sat upon, as well as after losing the other half of the troublesome duo - even after all that, the normally scowl-faced executioner barked a laugh once the dust had settled. "I'll give you a shot next time, wolfpup," he offers with a most congenial grin. "Assuming you can reach." And then it was another sudden mess of feathers, fur, and claws as Shik fought Senga off to sit back up in time for Medea to announce what they were to do.
He handled the silver bracelet with a small musing grunt, more than happy to locate a weakness to abuse it, though . . . subtlety was not his style when it came to the hunt. At least not unless it involved riling someone up. Sometimes. Purple wasn't his color at any rate, and any excuse to destroy something of the humans was good enough for him. "Onto the hunt then," Shik said briskly to his war siblings, fiddling with the ornate accessory as he headed into the portal.
This time and this time only, he might, might have included Shaheen in the collective.

Jay yelped as Iyari yanked her through the portal. "Hey!"
Ying blushed brightly at everyone's introductions, clinging to Lan like a lifeline. "I-I am going to go now! I will see you there!"
Without another word, she went through the portal.

Tseng smiled and waved back to Soren and Nergui as they came around. But he soon turned his attention back towards Medea. An ill omen? He nodded firmly. This threat must be eliminated at all costs!
Without further hesitation, he ran through the portal. It was time for glory!

Well, Medea's explanation was clear and short as usual. Go somewhere and do something, that's how Eisheth interpreted it.
Moving towards the portal she nearly stepped on Faiyum's feet, and bowed to the fellow alchemist slightly. "It's good to see you again", she whispered warmly. All the grudges she once might have had against him were gone long time ago, though she weren't too sure about his feelings at that matter, and didn't want him to feel uncomfortable.
The word pulled a soft smile from the dark skinned woman, and she dipped her chin in a nod as he answered her question. It would certainly explain the scuffling War horsemen, for if Medea had spoke, she doubted very much they'd have continued their bickering. She spared Senga a quick glance, the smallest of frowns toying on her lips, before Bastion unwound himself from her back and pulled her attention back to him.
Glancing over her shoulder she caught one of the faces her cousin kept aiming at the Guardian, and she stifled a chuckle as she turned back to the pyre and it's worrying color. Least til a whisper tickled her ear. "Mjoll?" her voice was equally soft. She hadn't seen the blonde jewelcrafter, but she seldom did. Mjoll wasn't one of those within her circle of acquaintances. "Have you not talked to the woman yet?" After everything then been through, still the man feared rejection from the mare he loved? Nergui shook her head, eyes rolling.
It was for the best, surely, that Medea interrupted further discussions and explained why they'd all been gathered. Of course, as always, the message was vaguely cryptic, and had Nergui not adored the woman so very much, she might have had thought to wonder.
She didn't. Instead she took a bracelet from Bastion as he offered it out to her. Slipping it on her wrist, she watched on in some amusement as Bastion slid behind Soren to hide from the object of his affections before sneaking through the portal ahead of them. The guardian followed, and with another shake of her head, Nergui trailed behind them. Straightening the veil that hung loosely along the right side of her face.
Men were a breed to themselves. Some were easy to deal with, some not, but not a single one of them made a lick of sense as far as the dark skinned priestess was concerned. Perhaps she'd have to approach the lovely Mjoll on Bastion's behalf if her cousin continued to lack the nerve to do so himself.
