Gravitational Molestation Yusaru I apologize for any offense taken by anything I've said.
I respect all of your opinions, but keep in mind, they're just opinions. no reason to fight and argue over something that took place so long ago. This topic was meant to bring back memories. NOT to start a war.
Thank you. Derp, opinions can be backed up by fact. Opposing opinions are backed up with fact, theory, and hypotheticals in discussion. I have done this, you have not. There is no "agree to disagree" going to happen here. I will gladly continue this with others if you choose to retreat and not support your opinion. Point being, there was no skill back in those days. Well, well, well--
First off, he's not stopping the argument because he can't support his opinion. He's stopping the argument because he's not going to stoop to the level of your arrogance. There are some 'battles' that you can see there's no point in fighting. This is because of a few reasons: (a) you see that they're too bull-headed to talk to, (b) you know it's a pointless battle, (c) you have better things to do, and (d) you're mature enough that you realize it's pointless to argue with those who choose to act like children.
Although you have nothing better to do than sit here and argue about a card game over the internet, I'm sure he has plenty more he could be doing both online and offline. You may have no life, but I'm sure he does.
Secondly, no skill back in those days? There's no skill nowadays! Blackwings, Gladiator Beasts, etc. just take away from the skill to play the game. Anybody can grab a deck like that and be "good," but not anybody can build a deck of mostly Normal Monster and/or weak-ish [sometimes strong] Effect Monsters and still be good. Back then they really did have to rely on the skill of their deck build, as well as their skill as a duelist. The Blackwings, Gladiators Beasts, and more just play themselves. I admit they're good, but it hardly takes any skill at all to use 'em. What do you run? Blackwings? I'm just guessing. If you're running Blackwings it would semi-explain your arrogance.
And finally, you'll never get anywhere if you're so stubborn and bull-headed that you won't listen to opinions without freaking out. There's no reason to bash somebody because of their opinion. You're not always right, and it's a shame that you think you are. If you'd learn to be more open to opinions and not think everybody has to agree with you, or think the same way you do then things would go a lot smoother. There's a point where it moves from 'opinion' to 'arrogance'. I'm afraid I have to say that you past that point a long time ago.
Thank you for your time--
-Amensu Saje

axean For those of you who are saying back in the day was good, obviously never played at a single tournament back in the day. I did once, got raped so hard because i only had 1 raigeki, dark hole etc., and decided to wait for a better, more balanced format. I willingly admit, it looks like you got your 'better, more balanced format'. Lol.

Lol.Right now the format isn't too balanced, September 2010 format would have to be my favorite for the TCG. however, this format is nothing compared to the unbalanced formats of yesteryear. Think about it, decks could only be balanced once broken cards like raigeki got limited, or even banned. I'm not saying it took no skill back in the day, i'm just saying overpowered spells and traps made the game less fun for those who couldn't obtain them or multiple copies of them.

I definitely have to agree with that. Cards like Raigeki and all those other cards really screwed somebody up back in the day. It was tough to face 'em, and seemed even tougher to obtain 'em. Especially if you wanted multiple copies.

SOLIDNSNAKE I understand it doesnt have anything going for it, but i still find it to be awesome, statistically it is terrible, but back in the day it was amazing. but it being minus one, thats kinda the point of a big scary anything. you have to sacrifice alot for something powerful. You're kidding me. Right? Please? No, it's you, definitely not. At first I started reading and figured, "Oh, my bad, he was just saying he loves Blue Eyes, well I'm just an a** for continuing then." THEN, THEN you had to add the bolded. No! It wasn't! How many times do I have to repeat this? It was horrible for all the reasons I've stated. Listen, we can make decks based on the 2002 limitations list and duel if you want. Your use of Blue Eyes will be your undoing and I won't lose a single game to Blue Eyes. GM's right. Summon blue eyes, lose 2 monsters (2 turns building up). Attack. Opponent uses mirror force/hane-hane/man-eater bug. All of your patience and that "incredible monster" die horribly. Shut up about BEWD. You go off each time about loving it so much. Yeah, there are a lot of cards I like too, but that doesn't make them good AT ALL. As for yusaru, stop saying the first cards were so great. they were great, overpowered even, and got banned. You say everyone uses the same deck? that's bull. Plenty of new cards get brought out, and new deck types are always being made with them. Archtype focus, play focus, billy, and meta. Each of those has plenty to choose from and with enough cards supporting to make plenty of formats. Back when things started, you either had the same thing as everyone else and had a chance at winning, or you had basic weak cards with none of the overpowered or effective stuff, and got your a** handed to you.

Ooo, a new challenger appears. Amensu Saje Well, well, well--

Although you have nothing better to do than sit here and argue about a card game over the internet, I'm sure he has plenty more he could be doing both online and offline. You may have no life, but I'm sure he does. You are correct, I don't have anything better to do right now. Why? Just got out of the Army, and am cruising on relaxing until the summer semester of college starts. (a) Sadly, I'm not too bull-headed to talk to. I may be arrogant but I support my arrogance with actual intelligence. This may be immature of me but, I rightfully don't care. I enjoy this. (b) Discussion and debate increase community knowledge. Ideas held by a handful of people are expressed between each other via a public medium. Those ideas are heard by others who can then develop their own opinion and jump in on the discussion. Eventually the dust settles and a victorious side has been determined. Knowledge has been increased over all, a good thing. (c) Yawn, already hit on this. (d) This is simply a repeat of (b) with an added on insult targeting me. It's cute that you think your opinion of me matters in this. Facts kid, facts. Amensu Saje Secondly, no skill back in those days? There's no skill nowadays! Blackwings, Gladiator Beasts, etc. just take away from the skill to play the game. Anybody can grab a deck like that and be "good," but not anybody can build a deck of mostly Normal Monster and/or weak-ish [sometimes strong] Effect Monsters and still be good. I never said there was skill in today's game, did I? You preach to the wrong person kid. Amensu Saje Back then they really did have to rely on the skill of their deck build, as well as their skill as a duelist. The Blackwings, Gladiators Beasts, and more just play themselves. I admit they're good, but it hardly takes any skill at all to use 'em. What do you run? Blackwings? I'm just guessing. If you're running Blackwings it would semi-explain your arrogance. First, there was no skill back then. It was just a slower form of the herp derp of today's game. Second, I run whatever I feel like at the time. Currently I have put aside; Doppel Plants, Tigerless Gladiators, Karakuri Machina Plant, building Fabled, Scraps, Gravekeeper's, yadda yadda. Try again kid. Amensu Saje And finally, you'll never get anywhere if you're so stubborn and bull-headed that you won't listen to opinions without freaking out. I'm not freaking out. I'm rather calm and have been this entire time. There's been laughter at my end during loading screens of Borderlands while playing with a friend of mine. We've rather been enjoying the idiocy being fed to us. I do listen to the opinions of others, that's why I'm able to effectively counter and obliterate them. There's PLENTY of reason to bash people because of their opinions. Since you didn't specify, I can abuse this right now. You wouldn't bash a racist pig? Sexism? etc? Hell, even now you are bashing me because of my opinion on this topic. Hypocrites are the best kind of people to bash, they deserve it the most. I never said I am always right and I don't think I'm always right. That conclusion was born of very few scenarios in which, I was always right. Everything from the bolded point on is a misconception of who I am. Your opinion of me is misconstrued and flat out wrong most of the time but, I really don't care. I just enjoy pointing out that you're wrong and explaining why. It's fun. Opinion never switches to arrogance. They are two separate words with two very different definitions. Wrong again. Amensu Saje Thank you for your time--
-Amensu Saje Thank YOU for the laughs.

Yusaru TwinHeart Blue eyes sucks. Red eyes suck. Dark Magician sucks. Without them the game would be nothing. Most people sought after them back in the day. They are perfect Faces of Yugioh! Ok this is wrong. Collectors and kids sought after them, players who were competitive were not. Those weren't the faces of yugioh, There were many others that people would know. Look it up.

I read the first page of posts =P I do miss those days. I remember the very first episode of Yu-Gi-Oh!... I thought that Kaiba was the most amazing character in the world. His amazing Blue-Eyes and whatnot. Then I loved Yugi's Exodia. Then I fell for Kaiba's Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon xD Then Joey's Red-Eyes. The list goes on.
On another note, the biggest annoyance in all this is "Winged Kuriboh", "Kuribon", and all the other rip-off cards. They're annoying!
