The last thing he remembered when he was in the gymnasium was bringing Tahki down in a tackle. Unfortunately that would be his undoing when the ghoul let loose perhaps the strongest burst of Fear he'd EVER experienced. If he had lived to tell her he would've congratulated her on producing such an attack. There was no way he could fathom her not feeling proud or becoming more brave after such an attack.

When he opened his eyes Bul was not laying on the gym floor. Instead he was in someone's office. Once he'd opened an eye though he knew EXACTLY where he was. "Oh ******** me.." he whispered to himself, looking at the bugs crawling around him, trying to sit up without squishing one with his hands or tail. Bul really felt like he was literally walking on eggshells, only it was more of a crawl. Hopefully he could sneak his way out even if it'd be difficult while still drained of Fear.

(( From the orp he comes! ))

Grass. Grass. GrassFIRE.

OhsweetJacknotagain.

Oh yes again, Mort. Much like the first time, he did not have the time to so much as take in the air needed to shriek in fear before the blue fire engulfed him, burned him to his core, fried his flesh into cinders, shriveled his eyes, burned away his hair, melted his glasses, ate up his clothes, tore at his FEAR -

- the zomboil woke up with a shuddering gasp in the nurse's office, jerking into a sitting position as he hugged himself against the no-longer-there fire. "Nononononononotagainnonono-" His grip tightened on his arms as he sat there, hunched over his knees.

Funny that he shivered, given that fire had destroyed him.

((From ORP))

Pain. The flames licking at his flesh, an element that insects were particularly susceptible to, came from seemingly nowhere. In his already weakened state Yǐn Cáng could have done nothing if he had been able to register anything other than the agony racing across his flesh. He screamed, a sound of absolute agony before the fire took away even that ability.

When he gained consciousness with a jerk, eyes snapping open, he was met with something terrifying in its own way. Waking up in a completely unknown place. He froze, lying the bed and trying to piece together the events of his last few minutes of consciousness before the fire. But try as hard as he might he simply could not figure out how he had gotten here.

However, if he strained his ears enough, when the boil hunching over had to pause his moaning to take a breath, he thought he heard the tell-tale signs of a rather delicious meal scurrying about in the form of tiny footsteps. Food was necessary to a good healing process after all, and his antennae began to twitch ever so slightly.

[ aandd here comes both Ren and Sparrow ]

When Ren awoke, not for the first time after dissipating, he did nothing for several moments. He was lying on the floor of what appeared to be an office, though he wasn't entirely certain whose office it was. It did not look like Arel's office, filled with stacks of papers higher than he was, so that meant it belonged to someone else, someone Ren was unfamiliar with.

He didn't move.

There were voices - one in particular that was familiar, but Ren still lay there on his side, his eyes absently tracing the lines of his own bandaged hand, which was stretched out in front of him on the ground. It had been wrapped up for months now, but somehow seeing it now...

A horrible nausea rose in his throat, Ren clamping down his teeth tightly in a attempt to not throw up. Panic, desperation, pain, frustration, anger - a myriad of emotions cascaded through his veins, making his body begin to tremble violently, Ren's wings curling around his body in a vaguely pathetic attempt to keep him shielded from view, away from the rest of the world.

LW. Jove. Vaith. Xiu. Tybalt.

Where are you? Are you alive? Are you in pain?

He did not want to know the answer to the last part of that thought.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was black - black everywhere, surrounding him, filling his mind and his eyes and his body, suffocating every inch of his lungs.

And the fire.

Sparrow awoke with a start, gasping for breath and clawing at his chest as though trying to get rid of some sort of invisible force, the flames that had engulfed his body no longer eating at his flesh, scorching over his skin. His hands felt raw and bruised, though the blood was gone from his hands, Sparrow's gloves back to their normal state.

He didn't want them - any of it.

Shaking fingers gripped the corners, Sparrow yanking them from his hands with as much strength as he could muster, flinging the gloves down beside him. He pushed himself to his feet, staggering unsteadily, his hands trembling violently as they grappled against the wall, desperate to be free of the room, eyes searching for the door.

I need to get out of here. Anywhere but here.

Let me get out of here.

Xiu almost didn't want to open her eyes. The pain was gone, and everything just felt...peaceful now. She didn't feel anything. It was quiet, and--

--No, the silence didn't last long. When a familiar voice met her ears, the baku's eyes slid open and she weakly pushed herself up into a sitting position. The moment her gaze fell on Mort, she began to make her way over towards him, ears drooping as she reached out to rest a hand on his shoulder. "M-mort? Mort, shhh, it...it's fine now. The...the fire is gone, see?"

At least, she assumed that that was at least part of what was bothering him. She knew that her undead friends didn't fare well with fire, and she was assuming that Mort wasn't any different. That being said, those flames had been different from regular fire--more dangerous, more painful. It had engulfed everyone within a few seconds, burning away the students without any effort. And it had felt almost exactly like...

...

A distraction came in the form of two of her friends reforming right behind her. Feeling relief flood her, the baku's tail gave a weak little wag. "Ren! Sparrow!" Oh, thank Jack! While she knew that all the students should reform in here, one by one, she was worried that some would be forced to suffer through the fire longer than others. There was also, of course, that fear that any of them would die for good. While this was not usual for a Halloween citizen, Red's death was proof that it could happen.

Cricket watched all the students suddenly reforming in her office and flatly said:

"Oh for ******** sake."

She was a classy lady, but never the less she rose from her desk to start flitting about to see what the damage was...and maybe the deal as well.

She had finally found the strength to try and push herself back to her feet...or at least up onto her hands - when she heard the groaning roar, the crackling. That was when the pain hit, that flash of blue flames that engulfed her entire body. It ate away at her entire body, leaving her unable to do much more than scream and writhe as it destroyed her dress, her skin, her stitches, her everything. Every second was agonizing and every moment a century, until finally, with great relief, it was over.

Amrita came to in a vaguely unfamiliar room, but she didn't awaken silently; oh no, the entire room was met with the lingering death scream. Luckily it died on her lips shortly after, realizing that she was, in fact, in a room she did actually recognize. Cue the bubbling of oddly congealed, reddish-brown tears; cue the curling into a seated fetal position, cue the thousands of thoughts that just wouldn't go away.

Why this, why that; why was it always fire, why did they have to suffer so much, why did the horsemen give in, why did that Hunter know her name, how did he know what she was proud of? So many questions, not enough answers. She was done, just...done. She couldn't do this any more. She didn't have the strength to do this any more.

Tired, so tired...

"- nononono . . ." It was like a small river of words, background noise even. Did Mort notice an insect boil, Ren, or the wall-grasping reaper?

"N-No e-e-escape, no e-escape . . ."

kuromeez
Well, at least to some degree he seemed aware of Sparrow's actions. For now, Ren was another brown blur against the wall.

ramenli
And Yǐn? He was an unknown, a variable, a spy, a possible Hunter in disguise for all Mort knew in his scrambled state of mind. And yet for all of these suspicions, the zomboil was incapable of raising a hand to find out.

Mort did jerk, however, when he felt something on his shoulder, overly sensitive after his little trial by literal fire. Green eyes stared behind smudged glasses at Xiu, at first with fear, followed by a mix of relief and chagrin. "W-Won't be gone," he murmured, hugging his knees closer, though he at least seemed to not be shaking as much. "Will s-see. Will a-always see if t-try to s-s-sleep."

Too much of that blue fire, that searing pain, too much of it too soon. He whimpered softly.

As for Ms. Classy, as far as the boil was concerned he seemed okay . . . ish. One limb was cut off at the arm and in his lap currently, and there were a few burn marks scattered about his visible skin - oh, and Christof's knife had found itself handily stuck in his upper thigh. So much for staying in his pocket.

It was strange, how many times Riley had resurfaced in Cricket's Office.

There had been dozens upon dozens of times when she and Jericho had gone through those obstacle courses, and each time, she had stood up and surged out once more.

As the students started reappearing, so did she, on one of many gurnies in the office.

But she did not get up. She did not open her eyes. And she most certainly did not look any better than she had when she'd dissipated from that field. Her body was still as the grave, and her chest seeped with Fear from the hole that Caelius' dagger had dug straight from her back, through to her front.

Waking up in the nurses office was not a new thing for Jericho in the slightest. Not after dying for about twenty days in the row trying to complete that damn obstacle course. Speaking of fire, that death sucked greatly. Never before did he think he would die by a slow burn.

Sitting up, he felt the same sort of disorientation he normally did upon reviving. Within the next few hours, he should have his FEAR back to where it should be, he figured.

Rubbing his head, he looked around to see who was about. Riley would be showing up soo-- oh wait there she was. However, he noticed right away that something was wrong. She didn't get up. In fact, despite respawning, she looked just as bad as she was earlier.

"Riley..?" he said, suddenly feeling incredibly worried. Getting off of his gurney, he quickly made his way over towards her. He froze as he saw that she was still bleeding... but it wasn't just a normal wound. That was FEAR that was leaking from her body. Freezing as he saw this, he placed a hand onto her arm, hoping to get some sort of reaction. Then, he quickly looked around for the nurse.

"NURSE CRICKET! WE NEED HELP HERE!" he shouted.

"Tiamat's s**t.. please be alright.."

((From ORP))

"At this rate I'm going to get permanent burn scars."

Mandy was lying back, staring at the ceiling, carefully not moving from where she had appeared. This was what, the third, fourth time she'd gotten burnt to death?

She was going to get an undead like eversion to the stuff if this kept up.

At least she had all her Fear, that was better than could be said for some of them... and she was still safe in Halloween.

She felt a wave of guilt and hoped the horsemen would be alright.

This is what happens when we're weak.

She wondered then, how do we stop being weak when we're given so little time?

And then yelling broke out. Cricket seemed to seethe that whenever there was a problem, yelling came with it. The fact she didn't just bowl Jericho over for speaking so loudly and suddenly was probably a surprise as she came over to investigate the Mindflayer, taking a moment to look over the wound in question and seeming to make a face.

"She's been touched by... something." the woman noted, though she didn't ask what had happened by any means, instead she moved away again, going over to her desk and producing a small box, taking something from it before she returned again to Jericho's side, pressing the item into his hand.

It was a pumpkin pill.

"See if you can get her to ingest that..." Cricket wasn't as familiar with the mindflayer, so she assumed it would be easier for the Dragon to do so. "If it proves to be a complication, let me know and I'll come back...but..... that's the safest course of action we can take right now."

((Entering From Transitionary))

That was twice in a short span of her life she'd been burnt like that, curling up in whatever spot she'd materialized in Willow looked a little mortified. Trying to clear scenes that played over and over in her head.

Nothing pleasant about those, and then to realize she'd let Bul down, not having been able to protect Mei like she promised. The ghoul buried her head in her legs and gave a miserable sigh. The residual feeling of being burnt a second time was lingering almost taunting her as to how useless she was, and the visions from that soulless creature danced in her head.

The Byakko did nothing to move, she didn't even bother to see where she was. She just wanted to sit there until everything stopped taunting her. "Stupid..." She muttered under her breath as her tail wrapped around her she was trying to stop shivering...

Thankfully, Cricket had come by quickly.

"She's been a little more than just touched.." he commented while staring at the gaping wound. It was incredibly worrisome that was still there. It wasn't a pretty wound either. Looking down into his hand, Jericho nodded as he looked to Riley.

This was... going to be a bit of a challenge. With a frown, he shakily took one of her tentacles and tried to somehow jam the tip into the pill. Maybe.. Just maybe this would work.
