The Start of Term Event
Bye, bye, Adonis!
Headmaster Adonis has decided to resign. He claims that he was “not asked to," nor was it "hinted at." We will all be sad to see him leave us. However, he wished this to be a ‘cheery’ event. Therefore, our Heads of the Houses set up some fun things for us to do. Alicia, the Head House Elf, had a Guess the new Headmaster/Headmistress game. It was great fun while it lasted. Rayne had a tektek competition for the look and story behind the new Head. After the making of the tekteks, members voted on their favorite. Alutian was in charge of the Egg-tastic event, in which participants decorated Easter Eggs. This activity may continue beyond the end of the actual Event due to the timing, but the Mods are not sure. Last, but not least, Kitty and Junimaia had Spring Fling '10 to control. Apparently, bunnies and baby chicks became evil, and they were immune to magic! The only way to cure them was to throw flowers at them (the pollen has something to do with curing them, we think). The Events are scheduled to end on April 5th; I have seen posts that say it may stay longer. Don’t count on this, though.
APRIL FOOL'S!
As several students suspected, Professor Adonis' resignation was a rouse concocted by himself and the mod squad! In response to accusations, the Headmaster admitted, "I love to joke. It's a nice, original way to begin the new term, wouldn't you agree?" Both he and the other hosts hope you all enjoyed the April Fool's event.

To Ask the Elf:
I'm experimenting and studying the effects of interbreeding magical creatures, such as blast-ended skrewts and nifflers (gold-hunting badger-like animals). Recently the breeding of elves has come into my line of work, as well as the question of whether elves would be willing to breed with goblins. How exactly do elves breed? Do they lay eggs? Or are they like bacteria that just grow and split, or perhaps it is like when a mother and a father looove eachother very much and they have a special hug... er, you get my drift. I was also wondering if you would be willing to be a participant in an experiment that I have coming up.

In regards to your letter, I would like to say on behalf of the Ministry of Magic that such experiments are illegal, which comes under law 53 of the Secrecy Act. Now that I've said that, elves are mammals. We do not lay eggs, nor do we split, but i am not going to carry on describing how house elves work, as that is not my place to do so. Thank you for your offer to let me be a part of your experiment, but my masters do not agree, so i must politely decline.
I would also like to comment on your breeding, Mr. Bretting. Perhaps pairing nifflers and blast-ended skrewts is not such a good idea, but the idea of breeding a goblin and a house-elf is ludicrous. Would you breed yourself with a dementor?

Wizard/Witch of the Month
This month's honor as Witch of the Month goes to Avatar34!
Avatar34, known by most as Tina, is a Gryffindor House graduate. Older members may recognize her as their Astronomy teacher, as she has taught Astronomy class frequently during her student years as a Gryffindor. Since her return, she has collaborated in planning the new graduates subforum, provided instruction in Dueling Club, and substituted for the Head Elf, IceeWitch, by teaching the newer students How to be an Elf! For Spring Term 2010, she returns to teach not just Astronomy, but Ancient Runes as well, another subject near and dear to her heart. Very rarely do the mods trust someone to teach 2 classes at once. It just goes to show that Avatar34 is a proven capable member of this guild.

Q: Have you read all the HP books? How many times?
A: Yes I have read all the HP books. Probably at least Five times each except for the 7th which was twice.
Q: Which is your favorite?
A: I don't think I can choose. If I must I would say probably OotP but, HBP and the DH are not far behind.
Q: Have you seen any of the movies based on the books, if so which ones? Name your favorite!
A: I have seen all the movies. My favorite would be the OotP. I love them all, although I do wish they had stuck more to the book.

A: OotP, GoF, PoA, really all of them.

A: I would have to say Stephine Meyer but, I also like Dan Brown and Ann Brashares. Another book that I love it Le Morte De Arthur.

A:Yes, Hermione, Luna, Harry, Ron, Tonks, Sirius, I can't pick just one!

A: I love Archeology and Mythology. Anything to do with myths and Legends.

A: My friend told me about Gaia, but I found this guild. biggrin
Q: What's your favorite thing to do on Gaia? Outside of Gaia?
A: Hmm On Gaia would probably be being in this Guild or playing Booty Grad, although I'm not that good at it. Ouside of Gaia, would have to be reading.

A: Yes I am in other guilds but, I have to say I spend most of my time here.
Q: How often would you say you are on Gaia? In HPGoG?
A: To answer both I'm on at least once a day.
Q: Was there anything (before you returned) that you missed about HPGoG? If so, what?
A: Yes, that Quddictch seemed to die out but, I do like what it's being replaced as!
Q: Was Gryffindor your first choice for House? Why or why not?
A: Yes, it was first choice for my House. I think I have alot of the traits that Gryffindor's have. If I had not been Sorted into Gryffindor I think I would be in Ravenclaw.
Q: I've checked and it seems you joined the guild Saturday, November 12, 2005 at 10:38am. As one of the guild's earlier members, what do you think of HPGoG being what it is today?
A: I think it's great, everything has really evolved. Although I do miss those who are now inactive.
Q: What do you like most about HPGoG? Is there anything in particular you're looking forward to (in HPGoG)?
A: I like Teaching the most. Yes, I'm really looking forward to the Grads Sub-Forum.
