Yes, basmati is rice. Naan is a type of flat bread... somewhat similar in appearance as a tortilla, but thicker, with more substance and flavor. A lot more flavor actually. Dal makhani is a bean dish... made with urad dal and kidney beans, a tomato sauce, and cream... it can taste a bit like chili if made a certain way.

*looks over at Ayami* Greetings. I am doing well... though kind of tired and hungry...

ohh naan - yes yes naan is very yummy!
*ayami looks over the menu carefully*
this is such a nice place.

@TES: I have no idea what "urad dal" is. But I have had chili. xd

@Lady Chan: My husband brought home a cold he caught at work and shared it with the rest of us. I'm not feeling like my normal evil self today.

! oh dear that is not kind of him at all !
I've been managing to stay healthy

*knocks on the wooden table*
it was frightful for awhile since a girl in our office was diagnosed with the H1N1 a few weeks ago. but she didn't give it to anyone else and she recovered fine too.
hmm think I'll need to get two fried eggs with spinach and a side of cultured yogurt.

*places order with waiter*

Having a cold (or whatever this annoyance is) just makes it difficult because Mom's don't ever have time to be sick. stare
PostPosted: Mon Oct 05, 2009 9:45 am
hmm.... urad dal is a type of lentil. It's a small, flat, black bean.

If you happen to ever go to an Indian restaurant, remember that anything with "dal" in the name means there's beans in it.

*turns to ayami* Cultured yogurt? Isn't that a bit redundant?

mmm i suppose so...
but i like the extras that make it super think and yummy
like greek style

I don't think I've had "super thick" yogurt. I have had homemade yogurt, though... best yogurt I've ever tasted. The place I had it even used milk from their own cows for it. It's pretty thin and runny, though... which is fine, but can be a little difficult to eat when over half the time you have to use your hands...

ohh that sounds like fun!
is this a trip you take with your child/children?
do you get to pick the apples yourself?
