I remember windows before computers existed... But I wasn't there to see them...
I remember QBASIC as the best game platform.
I remember the unlimited world before us when we were young, when no was only to playing in the street and electrical sockets and ovens.
I remember when darkness was a complete cover.
I remember the huge element of newness on everything that never wore off.
I remember the shine of the toys, the smell of the boxes.
I remember how pristine life was, and how it was oh so long.
I remember catching lightning bugs.
I remember running to play in the rain, not running to get out of it.
I remember when snow was a scarcity and fun.
I remember when icecicles were precious.
I remember those yellow kids' chairs were jet scooters and playplaces were spaceships.

I was watching a tape with White Christmas on it and it had the commercials intact. The movie was great, but the commercials were so interesting being recorded in 1988.
There was an ad for the 1988 Chevy trucks. There was an ad for Kiddie City. There was ads for Pillsbury microwave baked goods such as pancakes and brownies.
There was even a small news break where the Dow was at about 2500 points.

I remember stealing ice off the ice trucks that delivered to people who still had ice boxes instead of refrigerators. (the truck driver knew we kids were taking ice chips and not really stealing)
I remember coal being delivered to houses for their furnases.
I remember when milk was delivered to your door and in the winter sometimes it was frozen and sticking out of the tops of the bottles.
And now I walk into a room and can't remember what I went there for. rofl

Wow, it's amazing what you remember when you read things like what has been posted here! I remember when you could dance like a fool, and people would join in the fun rather than judge.
I remember playing that goofy DOS game Monkey Toss
I remember when kids followed rules and didn't cry abuse for every little thing eek
I remember being able to run over to my friend's house for dinner, without worrying about getting shot or taken
