I also have waaaay too many favourite authors. They include: Gregory Maguire, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Kelley Armstrong, Jasper Fforde (I met him, and he was an awesome as his books would suggest), Philippa Gregory... Uh, I have too many. There are so many more I could list, but I won't. I'll be here all day. xd

What is writing to me?

Hmmm I picked the most to the point option of a hopeful future career. I'm not going to kid myself and think I'm going to be definitely published. I'm taking a creative writing/english course in Uni hopefully but my career in the future will hopefully be either in the publishing business or teacher.
Writing will...to my disdain, always be a side project. After all, I have to have stable money coming it haha.

I really hope that writing will be my future career
If it doesn't turn out, then at least this is something I love to do
Like DesertRose said.. have to have money come in some way or another ^^' I'd prefer it to be from my writing, but.. hard to get in sometimes...

Yeah, it is hard to get in. But I'd rather do anything in the future, have a few more years strapped to my belt and more experience. smile

Like a lot of writers I'd love for my writing to be a career, but I don't think I'm ever going to be good enough. In three weeks time I embark on an American Literature with Creative Writing course at the uni I wanted to go to, and hopefully that will help me improve... Also, I'll have a year in America to really extent my style - but I don't hold too high expectations for myself because I know that I'm not great. XD

I'll probably end up in publishing, but I'll always write. :]

I agree PMS, I want to take a Creative writing course but I know I'll always write, even if it isn't good enough to publish.

Exactly. :]

But, hopefully by taking a course I might be more confident in myself. =D

Good thinking!

I chose Vocabulary as I wish I could memorise the entire dictionary! I know a few fancy words, more than most people I know but I really wish I could find a fantastic word for everything. I tend to repeat things sad
I have however read the Dictionary! emo

I voted for the grammar/punctuation, but only because I think that if I knew EXACTLY how to phrase myself, my sentences would sound much prettier. In truth, I'd like to improve everything about my writing, especially plot (because my plots have a tendency to just meander along and never really get to where they're supposed to go xd ). Ah, nothing is ever perfect. D=

My favorite college class EVER was Scriptwriting. I learned more about writing in that class than anywhere else. I still have all my notes and books from that class, too..

Also, I voted vocabulary. I have a terrible memory, and I am ALWAYS on Dictionary.com and Thesaurus.com.

Other.

I'd improve the flow of my writing. I re-read the first chapter of Lead Us Not, and it just doesn't flow. The dialogue is okay, but the prose is just awful and stiff. So yeah, I'd fix that.

Grammar/Punctuation -

It's always been a little problem of mine. It seems just fine, but when a proper person goes through it they get kinda @.o ... I've gotten much better than when I began, but I think that's because I'm not longer zombie writing xD; I actually go to bed rather than staying up continually to write. I could still use a proofreader anyway to make sure that I'll be expressing what I mean.. and not just writing jibberish that only I can translate, heh.

In relation to the editing question I meant that a sub-forum can be opened up and you can go there specifically for it to be edited, whether it be from a small team or the whole of the community. Also, there can be techniques for the perfect editing.

What do you think?
