I love the main character overall, the way she manages her home & works to keep things going, her honesty & idealism & determination. They're all great.

But I'm in the position of having read a few too many of the "I hate you means I love you" stories, so that part was less appealing to me.

Yeah, see, I'm not sick of those yet. The opposite annoys me more than does this. Though it did seem to happen rather quickly. It was like, "I hate you, I hate you, I hate you-- OH! You're the one who was sending me those letters? Then I love you!" Yeah. Though there were hintings at the fact that she was starting to like him, it was still a tad bit unbelievable. It's more interesting when someone goes from "I don't like him, but I don't hate him" (neutral) to liking a person than going from hate to love. That's my opinion. But either one is better than "I love him sooo much, why doesn't he love me too?!" I could add more to that last one... but it'd be mean to the characters that do that. So I'll hold myself back.

Eh, it's alright. I just have to suffer my friend's obsession with trashy romance novels. @_@

I like some romance novels. Though I really only read them by this one author. I tried other ones, and they kinda annoyed me. So I decided to stick with plain old fantasy, and leave "paranormal romance" alone.

*Twitch* Those are the type of books I stay away from. I read one book by Laurell K. Hamilton... it wasn't even in the roamnce section, but you wouldn't know that from reading. So many pointless sex scenes. I don't even look at her other books. I'd heard she was a good author, but I really don't like wading through random sex scenes to get to any actual content and plot. It's just not my style. Some books I've read have decent sex scenes, that make sense to be there. But that one... every like ten pages there was some random thing.

:mocks book: Oh...well...In order to figure out the secret to saving the world, you have to sleep with me. And then I'll kill you. ^^

Ugh...I hate sex in books. Implied sex is fine, I dont want a bedroom scene going on. nope. nuh uh.,
PostPosted: Sun Jan 29, 2006 7:23 pm
Yeah, I usually skip over sex scenes that describe stuff too intimately. "They went to bed together" is fine for me. n.n *Likes being immature* But even if there's implied sex scenes all over the place it annoys me. That's not what I want to read about, thanks very much. I like plot over romance and court politics over sex.

*Other mocking of book* The secret to saving your country is... having sex with me! surprised And then you'll die, by the way. Because no one can look at my naked body without dying. That's the way the laws of physics work here, didn't you know? So you'll never know the secret! Ahahaha!

...Got a little carried away there, didn't I? n.n" I blame being over-stuffed. Too much food makes my brain go nuts.

Wow, we get off topic a lot in here, don't we? n.n"

Well, it was mostly about books. Just not quite exactly the one we started with.

There's only so much you can say about one book.
